Another reason they may hold back on info such as this is that they may be checking the Iraqi records for anything useful - determining if we can use any of the info they may have gained.

Think back about WWII and the U.S. granting asylum to German and Japanese scientists in return for them giving us all of their research, nevermind that some of the experiments were conducted on women and their unborn children.

This will always be the standard procedure at the end of any war in the modern era.

Once you remove the defeated nation's ability to continue experimental programs, you work to bring the experts from those programs on-board with your own people. This allows you to profit from your enemy's work, and will allow you to recoup some of the costs of your war efforts by using research that someone else paid for to further your own experiments.

That's how I see it, at least.
