oh yea and this is great news and its quite disturbing that many of you look on this as a bad thing! A man who cause geonocide on alot of people, brutely tortured his political opponents, raping wive of his enemies, invader of other countries, and finally just a bad dude. Even if the USA's reasons were not just in the beggining of this war for goin in (even tho i believe they were) this end result is undeniably a good thing. And i challange anyone on this board to say his capture was a bad thing. Look at the pictures of the citizens in Iraq do they look liek it is a bad thing!!! NO, they are thrilled they are finally liberated from a cruel dictator and now can fianlly have some freedoms and live without the fear of him pillaging you house and raping your wife!

They only bad thing i can see commmng out of this is a renewed fighting in Iraq. The last of Saddams most extrme loylist will put up the last stand in Iraq. I think our forces in Iraw should be on the highest alert.

Geeze you people shouldnt be so negative about this. This is a great thing. They finally have that corrupt bastard. His sons were horrible with what they did to people and thank god they arent around anymore.

Dude you say Bush sucks and he is a horrible president and all this, but as soon as some sort of terrorist bomb goes off in the street killing everyone of your family you're going to wanna kill every last one of those people who killed them.

The US government does a hell of a lot for us, and you just take that for granted and live in your hermit shack in the woods with your collection of assault rifles, NRA and anti-Bush posters on the wall. You take for granted what your country has done for you, the rights it has given you and the benefits as well. Perhaps you'd like to live somewhere where you were oppressed and had no rights or freedoms. Where everyday of your life you lived in fear, hunger and pestilence. Then maybe you could start to see that yes the US is actually not so bad after all.

People are dying for this country because unlike you they believe in it.

And as for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, those bombings were necessary. If we had not dropped the bomb we would have needed to do a land invasion and that would of cost even more lives on both japanese and american soldiers than both bombs combined. Additionally the Japanese stated that if the US invaded Japan they would kill off all POWs. And just so you know the casualty rates were higher from the fire bombings in Tokyo than either of the two bombs. Next time you want to post some more anti-US(the country you live in) propaganda make sure you know the whole story. Otherwise you're just making yourself into a dumbass.

FUQ THAT!!

Honestly people, what is the big HOORAY and Excitement about???? We are talking about the Worlds Greatest Military capturing the EX-Leader of a smaller, weaker, 3rd World Country. Who was removed from power months ago and on the run this whole time. Not to mention this isn't the first time we've tried catching him over the past, ohhhhh let's see......10 to 20 YEARS!!!

What are we supposed to put on our Party Hats and Balloons??? "Hooray Bush!! Finally!! Almost thought Hussien would be around until your GrandChildren made President!!

Congratulations going to a Double Generation Manhunt costing Billions of Dollars and Thousands of Lives is a bit sad is it not??? I suppose we better establish a new holiday every time our Gov. Officials ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB CORRECTLY, even if it's a bit below average expectancy and possible spans a Decade to see the results.....

I'm not sure what you mean by that Monkey. I mean I'm happy too. Hopefully that means no more Terrorist threats and Innocent Lives saved from now on. But YIPPEE, VOTE BUSH 2004....come on. Scratching up some bit of Good News to save face in the shadow of so many other Crap calls and Shady accusations isn't enough to get Bush's Buns out of the fire just yet.

I'm filled with joy that this may also mean our troops can come home and all that, don't get me wrong. Bush however still has some questions to answer!! Or am I the only one who remembers all the questionable events older than 6 hours ago???

By the way monkey....I addressed another thread to YOU you may have missed. It's on the Very Bottom of page 3!!

its so sad to see people like you so bitter over this. its really pathetic. just like the politician, hopngi that things go wrong jsut so they can gain from it. its shallow and immature thinking.

lol TPM, you misunderstood me.... what i meant was, it really is sad that people want to see the coalition fail just because they dont agree with the war.

It is possible that like last time we will leave troops inside Iraq to maintain the peace. Either way I hope everyone, including anti-war people can realize that now we have gotten what we want and can leave before we lose any more precious lives.

Interesting tidbit...

Remember that report ages ago, of Saddam driving a taxi, with a beard? Seems that was completely accurate, as there was such a taxi found with him....(and of course, he was bearded). No mistaking those eyes though....it's him....

It should be safe now for America to hand over control to Iraqi's. So US troops can go home. I bet that's never going to happen anyway.

It allows for a timetable...seems to be July. We'll leave as far as controlling force, but you can bet we'll not leave without bases.....
(and installation of a US friendly government....)

Some people in here obviously have no idea of politics, foreign policy or anything else relating to why wars are started or how the legalaties come forth before hand.

Anyways, I will just ignore some people in this thread and say -

GOOD JOB TROOPS!

Paperclip, sorry to hear about your experiences in Yugoslavia and hope you dont let some people try to tell you how it was when they werent actually there like yourself. Its easy to criticize something you know nothing about.

I'm just happy to see that our Intelligence services are finally getting their act together...I was beginning to doubt it... But it's obvious they knew where and how Saddam was moving around for a while, but it was always too little too late.

[size=10]GOOD JOB AGENTS!!!

A quick 2 cents. I haven't read the posts in this thread.

This is a major development, which could be great for peace and order in Iraq.

I am driven by peace and order.

It is far more significant than the stupid toppling of the 20th largest saddam statue was to mark the so-called end of major combat in Iraq. Celebrations on that spot, devoid of statue, today again featured a handful of extras.

Watching Saddam Hussein, the rat, in his medical examination, the footage shows him as an unkempt defeated cowering broken man (in pretty good health, and quite wealthy with the US$750,000 in the cellar with him). But he had just an air of an indestructible Rasputin in his visage.

Tony Blair gave a good speech. Bush will # up as always. This is a blip, a very positive blip on the horizon for Iraqis. The next 4-5 months will be key to what happens for Iraqis and their country. It can be used to promote the Bush admin's competence... and there are many implications of taking Saddam Hussein alive that can be damaging within Iraq and for the war cause and what happens sin the wake of this, too.

A good day for Iraqis.

I was sayin earlier that many of Bushs critics now will be silenced about the war in Iraq, and in turn this will help out his campain. Hmmm looks like the dems are running out of things to critize Bush about (oh no here comes the poo storm)

I think a question that will be raised now is how did Russia, Germany and France work with Saddam when he was in power and they were against the coalition invasion, if any.

It will be interesting to see how WMD's will come into the equation of his capture. Lots of information can and probably will come out in the next few weeks. Saddam looked like he was willing to cooperate pretty much during his health exam, so hopefully that turns into cooperation on information on other stuff.
