As a matter of national security, I wont say where but...

I know where you will be tommorow Mr Bush and God be willing.

I will have a sign that says.

Mr President
I need a job.

I been out of work ten years on and off.
I worked part time for 5 years to pay for college and I dont have a job.

You suck.
The Government sucks.
We need the kind of changes that can only come with the election in 2004.

As a patriotic american, I will leave my grudges at home and take a sign.

10 years? bush has been in office for how long? certainly hasnt been 10 years let alone 4.....

sounds like the problem lies with you, not the president.

about 1.9 million more people have jobs now since bush took office (dept of labor statistic, look it up i'm not giving you the link lazy) and since you've had partial employment off and on most of the time during clinton was in office when this supposed utopia was taking place with him in office i am completely baffled why you didnt even have a steady part time job let alone a full time job.

he doesnt suck, the government probably does but thats a whole other ball of wax that doesnt pertain to you and you not having or keeping a job.

i see the employment section of my local newspaper brimming with available jobs...instead of looking to the government for a job and whining about not having a job on the net why not get OFF the computer and get out of the house and go look for a job.

noone can give you something you dont want, seek and ye shall find.

Personal attack?

How many people are out of work?
10 Million?
20 Million?

How many on welfare and SSI?
Another 10, 20 or 50 Milion.
All the people with connections have jobs.

Get yoru facts straight before you make personal attacks and show how truly ignorant you are.

Yeah I had jobs in between but companies just go under or sell out and close.

Ever think about getting off of ATS and looking for a job. This is a capitolist society, the government is not obligated to find you a job.

What you want is a socialist society.

Lesse, who was prez 10 years ago? Who helped us along this path of becoming more and more open to the terrorist threat? Who set our economy on such fragile footing? George Bush? Nope, that would be only until about 3 years ago. I'm sorry, friend, but you need to be writing your plea to Bill Clinton.

And what kind of work do you do? GW has the economy on the up swing right now, and jobs are up 8% as of last friday...check the classifieds, revamp your resume, and become proactive. Stop waiting for that job to fall in your lap, reach out, track it down, and SLAM it in your lap!

Where do you suggest I get a job. I benn applying for jobs for 10 years.

There are no jobs. Wake up.

This is not a capitalist country.
Its a socialist society run by the wealthy elite.

If you doubt it consider Bushs $200,000,000 Campain fund.

He will be here again tommorow raising more money for the election as if $200,000,000 is not enough.

Hey Bush how about more jobs.

Heres an idea, why dont you elitest repuclicans suck my big fat #$#%.

I dont know, but if I was Human Resources and I had to hire someone who hadnt worked in 10 years or someone who has worked recently, I would take the one who worked recently. Maybe you should re-think whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish. If you can't get a job, then you either are not looking hard enough, or are to stubborn to realize the fact that maybe were you live isnt the best place for the skills you have.

This is not a capitalist country.

If this was a socialist country someone would help you find a job, since no one is....Maybe you should get your fact straights. The elite are holding you down huh?

If you doubt it consider Bushs $200,000,000 Campain fund.10 years and its Bushs fault huh?

Hey Bush how about more jobs.10 years and its still Bush's fault, I guess you make a good point.

Heres an idea, why dont you elitest repuclicans suck my big fat #$#%. Heres an idea, why dont you stop trying to blame other people for your ineffeciancies in finding a job. Get off your lazy ass and look, if you are outdated now, then get your lazy ass up and go back to school. Either way nothing is gonna come to you so you can stop feeling sorry for yourself and expecting others to as well, because no one feels sorry for you.

Well, if you need to blame someone else to make yourself feel better and sleep at night, feel free. Maybe I stole your job you had coming into your lap. So continue to sit around and complain that Bush has been keeping you from having a job for 10 years, I'll be at work, so I won't be able to enjoy it.

Did you protest Clinton on your 7th year of unemployment?? You ever think that America has alot of lazy ass people who would rather not work and recieve money from SS or Welfare???
Why work when you can get money for free right...?

You blame the Republicans for your unemployment, but the fact remains it started during the Clinton administration.

Or you can GET A JOB. 10 years and no job? I know a job for you, its called life. 10 years is a ridiculous amount of time to not work, and to not get a job. You payed off college, terrific. You have a degree, you are educated; and despite that education you think the world should be handed to you on a silver platter? At the very least you could get a seasonal job, lord knows that with the economy going up stores need people

Lets not make assumptions here, if he says he has been looking for a job, he has. Lets examine this quote shall we:

GW has the economy on the upswing...Yes, he does have it on the upswing after he was the one who screwed it up. Jobs up 8% as of last friday, ok, they could go right back down tommorow. You cant take an accurate count over a week, you need counts over years, and they went down.

-good luck with finding a job there Websuspect, some people can be such ass holes when they havent walked in someone else's shoes for a while.

My dear MrJingles, I was affected by the terrorist attack as well. I went over a year without work after having been laid off that christmas.

I work in the web, and in the IT industry. There are no jobs there. None. Still really aren't, unless I want to move to Scottsdale, AZ. And I spent a full year trying to find one. Then I did something amazing. I left the field I was good at, trained at, and looked for an entry level position ANYWHERE.

I found it at a company, where I kept inventory. That's right, I went from programming stuff to counting how many boxes a company had in their warehouse. But I was employed. I could sustain my self, and didn't have to rely on others anymore.

Then I took it a step further. Their inventory system sucked. I designed a database, while I was at home, which, when presented to the president, was immediatelly adopted. It made taking inventory about 50% more efficent. It was at that point I was given a promotion, to the software department. Now I'm doing what I love, but it took me 1 year of feeling sorry for my self, and about 14 months of kicking my ass working at something I hated. Now I love my job. I don't even think of it as a job.

And all this happened because I decided to get up one day, and try, really try, to get a job. When I was stuck on what I enjoyed, I didn't find anything. When I went for employment, not enjoyment, it didn't take long.

So yes, MrJingles, I have been there. I've just never waited so long for the shift in mentality to take hold, and I never blamed ANYONE for my circumstances. It was a simple twist of fate.

Let me add that I was a CAD/CAM programmer for 7 years and got laid off. I couldnt find a job anywere in the manufacturing sector due to all the manufacturing jobs being shipped overseas by the WTO and Clinton.

Well I was pro-active, I decided to go back to school and get a differant degree. I am currently in school while working part time loading trucks. So don't tell me about not walking in other peoples shoes. I have been there. I just decided I would not sit still and actually did something for MYSELF.

Thanks for that little bit of what I think might be sympathy.

The seventh year Clinton was in Office I had a job at Computer City but it lasted 6 months before Comp USA bought and closed 100 and some computer city stores.

You can have all the training in the world. If you are a CAD CAM operator, software specialist whatever, it will not help you because the economy is horrible.

We make things in the US better than any other countries. Other countries have tarrifs and stuff. COuntries like CHina and Korea would rather let their people go hungry than buy good food from America. We throw tons of food out because no one will buy it.

Bush caved in on the Tarifs, so now we are going to lose all our steal jobs. Bethlehem steal closed and Id wager Pitsburgh steal will be next.

No steal, No tanks. No steal, no ships. No steal no cars.

GM is closing. Bush will speak about the GM plant tommorow but they are pretty much gone. Good by GM SUVs. Gone.

Say Good by.

Look WS, im not trying to be a dick. I just never understand it when people are out of work and wait for something to come to them. There arent many jobs right now, I agree. But if you look hard enough you will find that certain industries are dying for help. Like Medical.

All I am trying to say is because you worked in one field, dont limit your options to just one field....You have to look at everything and take what you can get. If that means swallowing your pride for a bit then so-be-it.

Nothing in life is easy and nothing will ever come to you. You have to be active and go out and get what you want, especially with the competition for some of these jobs.

Why did you make the same thread over again? Anyway, this answer is the same answer on the other thread. Look in the mirror, not at the President. Read my answer and hit the bricks tomorrow.

Amazing, you haven't found a job in ten years? I can't help but have jobs. Must be a difference in drive and different levels of motivation. Here's an idea - truck driving. Sure, 800-1000 bucks per week may not compare to the entry level CEO position that you think is out there with your name on it, but it'll pay the bills until your dream comes true! Anyway, my first answer:

What, are you wanting him to create some cushy, low work, high paying job for you?
Does he have some private company he's running on the side, and you want him to hire you in front of the rest of he applicants?
Are you trying to say he's responsible for more than what he's doing now, which is to make a business friendly environment, in which companies can thrive, grow and hire more people?
Or, are you saying that you are better than everyone else, and you expect the president of the united states of America to drag you out of your parents' house and personally be your high-paying job placement representative?

I'm in HR. If you don't have a stable work history you better be one hell of a interview, if you even get one. So, maybe it isn't the weak job market, but your shady past. All we have to go on is what you offer us, and to be frank, 10 years of bouncing from job to job looks ugly. Best advice I can give you is to go for temporary employment. Usually, if your name is on their employee bank you can stretch your years of service even if you aren't currently on an assignment. And, sometimes temporary work leads to permanent work. I don't believe you're going to get anything steady right way.
