Rense.com is a really good website.

A little old, but definitely worth saving.

I absolutely amazes me that anyone can take Rense seriously.

Unfortunately, I agree, it is comming. There is more than just the miulitary. Look at LA. The LA county sherif is the best armed organization in the nation short of the real military. local police would be involved. it won't happen like u think. People who "legally" purchased weapons will find their door smashed in in the middle of the night. hfirst u remove who can defend themselves then the rest will fall in line or die.

and it absolutely amazes me that people attack rense like he writes all his own articles or like he agrees with everything on his site. rense dot com is a mirror. free speech central. most of the content there is not created there. each article must stand or fall on its' own merits, and should not be condemned to guilt by association with rense. some of it's true. some not. unlike the mainstream where nearly everything is spun to keep our heads spinning and out of focus.

Someone earlier mentioned that it wouldn't be bad as long as the people got their cable, gas, and paychecks. I can agree with that, as far as the stupid yuppie scum that drive SUVs and have cable, but as for the rest of us who actually exercise our freedoms in ways other than TV and vehicles, it's gonna suck.

I however DO NOT agree.
First off CURFEWS and not being allowed out of your OWN HOME.
I for one would NOT be pleased nor would I "deal with it" by watching
a zombie box.
It is a VERY scary thing to think about especially if you are usually up in the wee hours of the morning *like me most of the time* unlike most "normal" people.
If there was a 6pm curfew I would be SCREWED, unable to do anything about it.
I seriously doubt everyone would just be happy with thier cable TV and what not.
Most people I know do not watch TV that much anymore, nor do they just sit inside thier houses ALL THE TIME...
Everytime anything happens where I live such as a home team winning a big basketball game, there are police in FULL RIOT GEAR lining the streets and people get VERY nervous about that.
What will they think when the MILITARY is outside thier door?

It brings to mind the lyrics to a song I once heard
(and please dont judge me for the lyrical content of the song, like i said, it just popped into my head so I figured I would post it)

"Shut Up, Be Happy"
(feat. Jello Biafra)

We interrupt this program with a special bulletin:
America is now under marshall law.
All constitutional rights have been suspended.
Stay in your homes.
Do not attempt to contact love ones, insurance agent or an attorney.
Shut up.
Do not attempt to think or depression may occur.
Stay in your homes.
Curfew is at 7 PM sharp after work.
Anyone caught outside of gates of their surveillance sectors after curfew
will be shot.
Remain calm, do not panic.
Your neighborhood watch officer will be by to collect urine examples in
the morning.
Anyone caught intefering with the collection of urine examples will be
shot.
Stay in your homes, remain calm.
The number one enemy of progress is question.
National security is more important than individual will.
All port broadcasts will proceed as normal.
No more than two people may gather anywhere without permission.
Use only the drugs perscribed by your boss or supervisor.
Shut up, be happy.
Obey all orders without question.
THE COMFORTS YOU DEMANDED ARE NOW MANDATORY.
Be happy.
At last everything is done for you.

American Mad Man, you're right when saying that the US government would have a hundred times more trouble keeping the american people under martial law than in Irak. That if the US administration would be seen or presented to Americans as the "oppressive enemy"... but what if the US governement imposes itself as the "defender"??? There comes the element of using terror as a way to justify the martial law taking over the constitution, and FEMA taking over the White House and Congress! If a massive terrorist attack is perpetrated in the US soon, by "massive" I mean something that touches the everyday life of Americans and makes them even more aware of the imminent danger that they are facing each day (i.e. a large scale biochemical attack, or systematized dirty bombs attacks in many cities), the political elite would use such a situation of distress to a send the National Guard in the streets and put endangered citizens into camps, something that the middle American would be akin to accept. After years of fear-inducing mass-media brainwashing, a second catastrophic terrorist attack would have the effect of activating behaviors of collective psychosisand thus making them mroe willing to be under the governement's protection from faceless terrorists that coudl be anywhere rather than revolting against the authority. After all, considering most of American troops are overseas, it's more realistic that the government would send people to camps by using FEMA rule and the National Guard...

People may have guns, but it's still their brains that decides who they are gonna shoot.

I think we Underestimate our own People Soldiers Policeman they are all american citizens lets hope we all can get along....if 9/11 did not cause permentent martial law dont look for anything short of a Nuclear explosion to do so.....
this is why our second Amendment is so important as for the Patriot acts 1 and 2 befor they are Made a Permentate fixture I expect after the Election for them to be Gone through and the Stupid crazy stuff Plucked out not to make it toothless but to make it MORE AMERICAN friendly and LESS visitor friendly

Allow if martial law ever was declared, they would defiently outnumber the "rebels" and probally outgun them but... The question is, would all those numbers in the military be willing to take up arms against their families? I honestly would not shoot my best friend in the back, do you think they would? I'm sure there are people in the military that find the things they do unjust, they just cant do to much about it.

the military brainwashes soldier, just like the media brainwashes the masses. very few people actually think freely anymore. where i live people might as well already be in a state of martial law. i live in a really nice neigborhood, but have yet to hold a conversation with any one of my neigbors. people are very isolated these days, the government is conditioning them for martial law. john titors words wisdom or facts seem to becoming more true everyday. alex jones documentary becomes more clear everyday. if a police state were to occure i doubt we would be capable of defending the NWO they have vast military resources it would be next to imposible to stop them. mabye i will go live in the forest if worse comes to worse, they shouldnt have any interest in the forest. o shoot i forgot there are no forest where i live damn it!

What General Franks is referring to is the use of "perception management" on the U.S. public.

As independent-minded as we like to think of ourselves as being, most of what we are exposed to, even outside mass media channels, is already heavily influenced by information warriors. The battle began a long time ago.

It's easy to talk smack about taking up arms against "the government".

What is less appealing is the prospect of the majority of your friends, family and neighbors seeing the "need for martial law", welcoming it with open arms and doing everything they can to help "the government" deal with any "mad dogs" who "go insane" and "take sides with the terrorists".

I don't know if General Franks' prediction will come to pass, but I do know that the groundwork is in place, and the capabilities have been in development for a very long time.

The men with guns aren't the ones you need to worry about. It's the men with words who will conquer you.

I believe it may actually be hard for the people to overthrow the government if martial law came into place. Look at germany for example in WWII. They didn't really have the freedom of gun laws america has but that doesn't mean that america's fight will be much easier if such a thing happened.

Has Martial Law ever replaced the Constitution ever in U.S. history?

Sorry I am not familiar with U.S. History.

I had martial law declared in my small home town during a really big flood.
Its not that bad it was just the national guard comming in and setting a curfue basically to stop people from looting.

For the millionth time, its not too late... vote Bush out! When will y ou people realize it is this administrations most ardent desire for Marshall Law, Police State, or call it whatever you want.

Does the moon have to spin out of orbit in order for people to realize its Dubyas policies that are going to reduce us all to powder?

How can any semi-intelligent person not see this?

And what bothers me the most its you who post these threads are some of the least likely people to see this.

Unbelievable.
I must resign myself to the fact, that if the worse happens, it is US who asked for it.
It will be our fault and nobody elses. For having given the vote to the WRONG person.

Martial law would only be the beginning and no matter how many guns you have, you have to have strategy. Consider all the military's of the world and their individual fights. Take Vietnam for instance. Just because you are well equipped does not mean you are assured victory. The American military fights with intelligence and totally without unneccessary passion. I would suggest that the only way you can really prepare, is by study counter-insurgency tactics. I myself have had such training taught by British Royal Marines and understand that an revolutionary does not have the option of confronting his enemy on his terms. You must strike not like a bull with a massive assault, but instead wear away at the enemy piece by piece.

But of course as Jammerman said this is all immaterial. If the end is coming we should hasten it on. Despite my contempt for our current President I have seriously considered voting for him. Not because I support him, but because it is exactly what they do not expect me to do. It seems to me the last election was rigged. He was appointed President by the Supreme Court, not elected by a consensus of the People. This to me is very troubling and a clear sign of what is to come.

Martial law is on the way and most Americans were too busy eye-screwing women on television to notice. Wow, look at the time, 1984 already.

the constitution IS being scrapped in favor of a military form of government, only it's happening now behind our backs while people like tommy franks are whisked onto the scene to distract us.....with talk of some future ocurrance. well, the future is now.

with riots at this month's convention here in NYC almost assured, the PTB will be able to sell the idea of locking up anti-government radicals with even less trouble than they already do. the right-wing media will have a field day with it.

then when "the big one" hits, possibly on 9/11, i have to agree with the others here who said people will welcome martial law with open arms. you'll either have to parrot the party line or be turned on by your fellow citizens, even by friends and family, for being one of the bad guys. finally, when 2 or 3 years or martial law go by without further terrorist acts and crime rates have been lowered dramatically, do you think "patriotic" americans will want those nasty anti-government troublemakers freed from the interment camps??

LOL.

You really think If Bush has some evil plan to take over the US Kerry is going to come save you. They were both in Skull & Bones they both have the same Agenda. If its a evil take over then Kerry will help further that goal just the same as Bush would.

If you really want to stop what you see as a evil plot Vote Bush out yes but dont vote another Skull man in his place.

I know im not thinking straight today, but WHO do you suggest we vote for?

Last time I checked we only had two candidates: Bad & Worse.

I know Kerry is no good either. BUT his "agenda" might not be quite as immediate as that of Bush's.
Seriously, we could impeach Kerry later on- Apparantly Bush is unimpeachable and beloved by evil-worshiping Republicans, to the point that with a little help (from Jeb) he'll win again.

According to prophesy, evil will prevail.
