We all know the story of the immaculate conception correct?

Well, here's a new finding that may explain why

news.bbc.co.uk...

The largest lizards in the world are capable of "virgin births".

Scientists report of two cases where female Komodo dragons have produced offspring without male contact.

So, it's possible, but only found so far in hermaphrodites and reptiles.

Thoughts?

This is total madness. You have joined together two pieces of completely unrelated infomation and from these derived the conclusion that the Virgin Mary was a Komodo Dragon.

Well, I have a way to tell if she was. Take a webcam video of a statue of Mary and shake it around a bit. Then slow it down and watch her shift!

It's the only logical conclusion, either that or she was a giant earthworm, and that would just be rediculous.

My apologies for finding this post funny but it was only because of all of those other theads in this forum what are talking about alien Reptoids.... but I agree that it's something that should not be joked about. I'm a Catholic also and I too find it shocking to even to make such conjectures.

As a Catholic I find this thread highly offensive.

You should all consider yourselves lucky that you are not mocking Mohammed and that I'm not Muslim.

Merry Christmas.

To all of those who find the "Mary is a reptilian" theory offensive, lighten up please.

I think it's funny.

Not only that, but there are no historical documents to prove otherwise, so this theory is as good as the whole "knocked up by God" one.

Assalamu alaikum

And saying that the Virgin Mary was a reptilian isn't ridiculous?

Seriously .. the metaphysical explaination of God sending His Son into the world to save us is MUCH MORE credible than Mary being a reptile.

Rassobasi - My post was in jest. Dry wit and sarcasm don't translate well via the ether.

It's the only logical conclusion

Well, I wouldn't go that far...hehe...

The "logical" conclusion is that she had sexual relations outside of Joseph, and never owned up to it...
(blasphemous though that may be)

Of course, it's also illogical to assume that a married couple hadn't had sexual relations in 9 months, at a time when there was no television or much else to do to unwind....

Those opting for the "Immaculate Conception" are simply agreeing to believe based on faith. Nothing wrong with that, just isn't a "logical" conclusion, nor is her being akin to a Komodo...

We need to clear something up.

The Immaculate Conception is MARY. It is NOT Jesus. 'Immaculate Conception' refers to Mary being concieved in her mothers womb, through a sexual act of her parents, but without having the stain of original sin on her soul.

Christ is not the Immaculate Conception. Mary is. It has to do with sin. Not sex. Mary's parents had sex to create her.

Either way, I agree with Gaz, Mary was either a ho, a reptile, or a giant earthworm.

Only logical explaination

My bad (and you are correct). I was referring to the "Virgin Birth" doctrine (which asserts that Mary had Jesus without the benefit of a father). or the "Incarnation".

FlyersFan is correct as to the "Immaculate Conception" doctrine. I always get these mixed up....
My bad, lol...

Either way, I agree with Gaz, Mary was either a ho, a reptile, or a giant earthworm.

Whoa...don't put those words in my mouth...or I'll be dodging lightning bolts on the way home!

congrats!

What's up with these reptilian threads lately, is the full moon out or something?
