A sad song for me would have to be "My Weakness," by Moby. The first time I heard this song was on the X-Files episode Closure:

"My Weakness", a song by Moby from his album, Play, is used several times throughout this episode, mostly notably during the first scene (in which the FBI discover a mass gravesite containing the bodies of dozens of missing children), and near the end (when Mulder apparently encounters his sister's spirit). the people in that band were all lovers & cheated on each other with each other around the time fleetwood released 'rumours', there was alot of pain around to inspire them..

But I find the following song gets to me more than any other I can think of...

This song is written from the perspective of someone living in a steel works town that depends on the steel plant to survive, but the government shuts it down with promises that everything will be ok....

Its a very raw & honest song, like much of her work.
