Tell Laura I Love Her by Ray Peterson ..i cry in the shower to this when i feel "EMO" haha

Laura and Tommy were lovers
He wanted to give her everything
Flowers, presents,
But most of all, a wedding ring

He saw a sign for a stock car race
A thousand dollar prize it read
He couldn't get Laura on the phone
So to her mother, Tommy said

Tell Laura I love her
Tell Laura I need her
Tell Laura I may be late
I've something to do, that cannot wait

He drove his car to the racing grounds
He was the youngest driver there
The crowed roared as they started the race
Around the track they drove at a deadly pace

No one knows what happened that day
Or how his car overturned in flames
But as they pulled him from the twisted wreck
With his dying breath, they heard him say

Tell Laura I love her
Tell Laura I need her
Tell Laura not to cry
My love for her will never die

Now in the chapel where Laura prays
For her poor Tommy, who passed away
It was just for Laura he lived and died
Alone in the chapel she can hear him cry

Tell Laura I love her
Tell Laura I need her
Tell Laura not to cry
My love for her will never die

Tell Laura I love her
Tell Laura I need her
Tell Laura not to cry
My love for her will never die

They're Hangin Me Tonight by Marty Robbins.. a lot of martys songs are sad but i love em!

When I hear the rain a comin' down it makes me sad and blue
Was on a rainy night like this that Flo said we were through.
I told her how I loved her, and I begged her not to go
But another man had changed her mind so I said goodbye to Flo.

Alone within my cell tonight my heart is filled with fear
The only sound within the room is the falling of each tear.
I think about the thing I've done, I know it wasn't right
They'll bury Flo tomorrow, but they're hanging me tonight,
They're hanging me tonight!

That night he came and took my Flo and headed in to town
I knew I had to find this man and try to gun him down
As I walked by a dim cafe and I looked through the door
I saw my Flo with her new love and I couldn't stand no more,
I couldn't stand no more.

I took my pistol from my hip and with a trembling hand
I took the life of pretty Flo and that good for nothin' man
That good for nothin' man!
I think about the thing I've done I know it wasn't right
They'll bury Flo tomorrow, but they're hanging me tonight,
They're hanging me tonight.

nofx - whoops i OD'd

Whoops I odd, shortness of breath, call ambulance, tell my wife I love her
Error in judgement cut my life, no second chance,no guiding light
I never meant to cause you pain
I never thought Id be the one who took the fall
I got lost in the moment, assholes like to test the limit

Six minutes down, breathing machine, brain not feel right
The look on you is killing me, drowning in shame
But dont feel bad, cuz I never feared consequences
Hate regrets more than apologies

A year has passed, like photographs, my life is just
A scrapbook of old friends and faded memories
Looks like I pulled the rub out from under myself
The falls too much for me to recover from

Its been real fun but now I must say goodbye, Ill see you all at okie dogs

Indian Sunset - Elton John
Ticking - Elton John
Adagio for Strings - Samual Barber (Theme from Platoon)
Who Wants To Live Forever - Queen (Theme from Highlander)
Rain Song - Led Zeppelin
Ordinary World - Duran Duran
Drink Called Love - William Topley

I could go on and on....

But hey, many of these are songs which presumably help you deal with the sadness you are feeling, usually over a relationship. Now you are all cried out, felt the full weight of your hurt as hard as you are going to, and ready to look up from the sorrow that you've been using this music to wallow in. I wonder what folks listen to when it's time to start looking up...

When my dad died, Sailing by Criss Cross was playing softly in the background somewhere so now whenever I hear that beautiful song, I lose focus on what i am doing and sometimes those whom I work with can't understand why little tears roll down my face.

n i n e i n c h n a i l s - something I can never have.

I still recall the taste of your tears.
Echoing your voice just like the ringing in my ears.
My favorite dreams of you still wash ashore.
Scraping through my head 'till I don't want to sleep anymore.

You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I'm down to just one thing.
And I'm starting to scare myself.
You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I just want something.
I just want something I can never have

You always were the one to show me how
Back then I couldn't do the things that I can do now.
This thing is slowly taking me apart.
Grey would be the color if I had a heart.

Come on tell me

You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I'm down to just one thing.
And I'm starting to scare myself.
You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I just want something.
I just want something I can never have

In this place it seems like such a shame.
Though it all looks different now,
I know it's still the same
Everywhere I look you're all I see.
Just a fading #ing reminder of who I used to be.

Come on tell me

You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I'm down to just one thing.
And I'm starting to scare myself.
You make this all go away.
You make this all go away.
I just want something.
I just want something I can never have

I just want something I can never have

Easily the saddest song in history:

Down to Seeds and Stems Again Blues lyrics
Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen

I'm sittin alone, Saturday night, watching the Late Late Show.
A bottle of wine, some cigarettes, I got no place to go.
Well, I saw your other man today; he was wearing my brand new shoes,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

Well, I met my old friend Bob today from up in Bowling Green;
He had the prettiest little gal that I'd ever seen.
But I couldn't hide my tears at all, cause she looked just like you,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

Now everybody tells me there's other ways to get high.
They don't seem to understand I'm too far gone to try.
Now these lonely memories, they're all I can't lose,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

Well my dog died just yesterday and left me all alone.
The finance company dropped by today and repossessed my home.
That's just a drop in the bucket compared to losing you,
And I'm down to seeds and stems again, too.

Got the Down to Seeds an Stems again Blues.

wow, I haven't heard his name in a long time. Commander Cody was a client of mine for a while. I have a portrait he painted of Professor Longhair hanging here and a bunch of marker drawings laying around. Crazy dude.

If you have an original portrait of Professor Longhair by Commander Cody, there are folks in New Orleans who would probably pay six figures, easily, for that.

one would think that a 'fess portrait would go for big bucks but I highly doubt this one would. It's pretty cool tho. Perhaps I'll snap a pic and post it for y'all.
