I know what happens when someone makes a mistake driving, so dont you tell me until you put on turnout gear and cut someones dead loved one out of a car. When I flash my badge, it is so they know I am not someone BSing their way out of a ticket, but that I truely was just making a mistake and not breaking the law on purpose.

They know, that I know what kind of trouble I get into if I cause an accident, whether I am driving an apperatus or the family car. We re held to a higher standard and most police understand that when I say I am sorry I didnt know I was speeding, they know its the truth.

Edit to say: I dont speed unless I am running code, with overheads and siren. Unless my wife is yelling at me, that tends to make me push down on the pedal. :shk:

So do all of us. We too are aware of the consequences of poor driving decisions. That doesn't make you unique, or eligible for sliding out of a ticket. If I were the cop, I'd give you a ticket just because you should know better.

So they say things about citizens. A child molester or a rapist is a citizen as much as a sweet old grandmother. Unfortunately, cops run into many more criminals than grannys. Their comments reflect what they see on a constant basis. It's human nature.

Look jso. I was addressing something someone else assumed about me because of something that was taken out of context. Then you put your horn in for something from the above post you made, you know knowthing about. Who do you think goes to those scenes to administer medical attention? We dont go walking away hating the public. We dont go walking away hating the public. I have seen firefighter end up in the basement of a structure fire because they had put a hole in the floor for the police to fall into in cse of a raid at a Methlab. We see as much as them. When a childs heart tops because some mis-guided creep beat that child util its heart stopped, its our job to restart that little heart. So dont you even try and explain basics to me that you know nothing about but what you learned on TV.

I already told what the real deal was with the police and it has nothing to do with what these and experience. I deleted the entire post for what respect I have for the good cops that are out there. You have no clue.

I will say one thing that somes up the post I made in detail but deleted. I used to think like you until I grew up and out of fantasy land.

Its all about power.

No you dont know unless you are the one handing a child a teddy bear because that childs parents are dead in the front seat.

I posted on the other page that I know better and they dont do it not because of respect, which they do give us highly unlike yourself, but because they know when they catch me speedng its a human error and not because I am trying to shave a few seconds off my time. Why do people like you try and twist what others say, do you not respect anything? Not addressing you in particular, but your mindset; its like you people are the new nazi ready to lick any jack-boot offered to you.

So now you're going to decide who can respond to which posts?

You haven't shown much respect for the police up till now, so don't try to backpedal.

It's all about a power trip to you. I'm not impressed with the fact that you're an EMT, esp. when you try to use it as an excuse for your bad driving habits. Oh, and your so-called knowledge of who knows what in this thread.

Your posts have shown a disrespect for law enforcement, and a total support for anyone that makes their job harder. There can be no excuse for not obeying a lawful order, yet you continue to defend the kid that sparked this thread. You even complain about the way the cops dress! And now you try to make like you respect them? Not buying it.

You want to have a reasonable discussion? Stop with the superior attitude and sniping.

I can't wait to see the reaction of my law enforcement friends when I tell them that.

I, being a black man, have had many bad experiences with police. None of which were justified in any way other than through profiling of one kind or another. Here's a small list.

I was stopped and searched for the better part of an hour for pushing the walk button when I didn't intend to walk.

I was handcuffed and held in the back of a police car while my name was checked for warrents. The justification was the standard "you fit the description" Mind you I had multiple piercings, very distinctive hair coloring, and clothing. I live in a small city, and if someone else fit my description I would likely know about it.

After calling the police to report gunshots, I was held as a suspect in firing the shots. No evidence was presented as to why. And this actually stopped me from calling the police for future issues.

Arrested for graffiti because I had markers in my backpack after an unjustified search. I was labeled as a graffiti artist named "Toner" because he used red black and green to tag, and I had red black and green markers (as well as every other color of the spectrum).

Some say that most police are good honest people, but in my experience I haven't seen that. I've been hastled more times than I care to remember. I often find it amusing that those who claim that most cops are honest guys out for the good of mankind are part of the racial majority.

After reading through some of the replies here, it doesn't surprise me in the slightest to find that at least half of the posts in defense of these Officers are created by the same bigoted and manipulated minds that post all the extremely radical anti-Muslim propaganda in the Political/War on Terrorism forums. It's funny how you all go around preaching our Western Democratic values over the internet whilst on the other hand supporting and defending a man being repeated electrocuted for something as trivial as forgetting his Identification card at University. I'm not sure how many of you have been to University, or if any of you are even old enough to attend; but forgetting things such as an Identification Card, or a Door Key is a common and very Human trait. Why did this man get repeatedly attacked for it with an incapacitating Electronic stun Weapon?

"Stand up, now, or you're gonna' get it again."

Once was far, far, too much. I'd like to see how fast these #ing Pigs could stand should the situation somehow be reversed.

Please Stay On Topic

Let's try to avoid the rather time-worn tactic of using ad hominem or -- ironically enough in this case -- en.wikipedia.org..." target="_blank" class="postlink" rel="nofollow">appeal to authority arguments to "win" a debate.

It's okay for members to have different opinions about the topic.

It's not okay for members to inject personal commentary into a topical discussion, including thinly-veiled insults aimed at "people like you".

Members who wish to talk about themselves are welcome to use the Introductions or Members forums for that purpose, but not this one.

I've been asking as nicely as I can.

Please respect that.
