Nick is an EX MOD official back in the 80's. He has written several books on the ufo subject.

Only thing in this article is that it says he resigned last week.. I was under the impression he resigned from the MOD a good few years ago ?

There was an ATS thread about Mr Pope's view on 'virtually closing down' the project. I cant believe that Im reading the same written article in three different sources! All that is different is the spin. Both Sky and Evening Standard are using the 'Alien Attack!' angle but the Daily Mail yesterday didnt seem to have that same spin.

This made me laugh:

And he complains that the project he once ran is now "virtually closed" down, leaving the country "wide open" to aliens.

The assumption is made then that if the project was fully functional with more staff and resources we would be protected from attack, or not so 'wide open'... yeaah...

Anyway, my theory on Nick Pope? If he didnt speak out against the DoD and their attitude on UFO's then we would really believe him to be a stooge, paid to lie. As it is, he has spoken out against the status quo by criticising the treatment of UFO reports high up in the chain, and he is now beginning to build a reputation for himself. Maybe this is where Mr Pope's career will really kick off? Disinformation Agent 9321 at yer service!

Through the years Mr Pope has made comments during interviews that I did not and still feel is either dishonest or possibly planted re reports through the UFO Desk at MoD. I feel back then he was too skeptical and being mis-leading.

Timothy Good's old book Top Secret, The Worldwide UFO Coverup, chronicles UFO reports without being coloured, in my opinion. Though I've read the book a few times I continue to use it as reference book and a means of learning through similar reports where the mid-truth might be. Thanks for posting the link to the article.

Last night I had a dream about alien ships attacking. It was textbook hollywood ... silver flying saucers with ray weapons blasting down at people. I was showing my daughter how to hide in the leaf piles so they couldn't see her .

NO .. I haven't ever dreamed anything like that before

I just find it interesting that you post this about alien attacks just a few hours after I wake up from having a dream about it.

Read a couple different versions of this story today and most I thought had

misleading titles as this one does. He doesn't mention alien attack in the article,

just that ignoring a possible issue could lead to problems. And the shutting down

of a program for monitoring UFO contacts that was getting valid information is

crazy. I'd have to agree there...not too many revelations in this article tho

mad max is right. nothing conclusive, nothing that holds its weight in the article of aliens attacking or even visiting or what ever. hoax stories for the kiddies.

I too have had one dream about alien attack. I can vividly remember diving to the ground as laser weapons strafed the landscape.

Funny thing is I never had such a dream before or since.

i just watched an x-files episode where the ufo invasion takes place. maybe it will be something like that if ufos do invade i can see him being laughed at by skeptics and govenment offcials but i believe him i have no reason to doubt him i mean he worked for the govenment.

Well that has been a speculation long time ago in the UFO community, if they cant be detected on the radar, flying manouvers never seen before anf fly at great speeds, surely they could attact us anytime they please without a warning, that's a possibility whatever we like it or not, now why they dont do it, who knows...

But even if we think they can come in peace there is always that possibility open..
