Thats what people need to understand. Its tribal warefare. each group protects there own tribal/religous-tribe members becuase they feel the other groups are out to get them. It's also about power where one group belives the other is too incompetent or corrupt to control things so they will fight to gain power.

The main reason why fighting is happening between Shia and Sunni in Iraq is becuase Sunni feel the Shia are in "cahoots" with USA against them. So they want to take control of Iraq becuase they feel Shia cannot control the country becuase they are traitors to Iraq and are against Sunni. Also there are probably dozens of active groups in Iraq which no body could possibly control.

Can I point out something, the original postin :

I cant say this surprises me about the type of muslim people living for free in the UK! i know they aint all the same and 9 out of 10 would help the police, but considering there are millions of muslims, 1 outa 10 is a bloody lot!

He was on about the UK not the US/Iraq somehow this has turned out into a US/Iraq themed thread.

Well can only say one thing, next time there is a terroist plot, uncovered, and the fingers are pointed. Will be interesting to see individuals from the muslim community standing up and shouting "We are being victimised".

Well Im sorry if they wont help the Police in stopping individuals strappjng bombs to themselves, hell bent on killing innocent people. Then if the finger is pointed at them, they are not being victimised.

Just remember only 507 out of the whole Muslim population in the UK were polled. (Dont you just love polls).

Can also add also in Northern Ireland, loyalist terroists carried out bombins as well and that was kept quiet.

Just my 2 cents on this thread.

One Thing I will add thouhgh, Me mysel would find it very difficult in reporting, say someone from my own family if they were going to go out an kill innocent people. I wouldnt like grassin on them. But if it saves hundreds of lives then I would do it.

Yes we have gotten better that is why we are a better society overall even when we still have some minor issues that never have been resolve but we got the law to deal with deviants on our society.

While in the middle east is deeper than that specially in Iraq when for 40 years the rivalries and old issues were not allowed to be settler.

Now they are free to do just that, and many Americans can not understand that.

Is like the old west when everything was settler with the law of the land and a good gun.

There is no 'mindset' for the majority of Muslims... as others have tried to get you to understand, apparently unsuccessfully, there is no one group of Muslims, there are many... and they believe in different things and have different political situations. Well if we're gonna play that game, might as well knock out all religions... they've all caused problems.

But that's not the solution.... and neither is calling someone's beliefs a "stupid religion" etc. People like you are just as much the problem as the Islamic fundamentalists (and Christian fundamentalists, for that matter).

But, Islam is the only religion I see still to this day murdering people people by the thousands. At least christians and jews can live in peace with people.

Bush has indirectly ordered the murder of thousands of Iraqis. Just because they were supposedly errant bombs or mistaken intelligence, the result is the same as murder... and I don't know if you heard but Bush is a Christian.

The Israelis killed hundreds during the recent situation in Lebanon....

If it's true that our government, at the very least facilitated the 9/11 attacks, this "Judeo-Christian nation" is responsible for the deaths of 3,000 of it's own people.

While your response might something like "they're not attacking because of religion, it's the war on terror, yadda yadda" or something to that effect...... it is EXACTLY the point I'm trying to make. You percieve these terrorists to be attacking on a religious basis... that is just the excuse, not the reason. Same for Bush and Israel... they're not techincally killing thousands of Arabs because of religion, but that is the perception... and what comes around goes around.
