Thats a good one, but I think it was because of the long hours up there, and the massive amounts of bolts they were screwing on with their hands.
Here is a bit of the artical on that.
Tanner and Piper worked for more than six hours Tuesday connecting 17 wires or tubes and tightening or loosening 167 bolts on the orbiting space lab.
The only glitch was when Tanner was working with a bolt with an attached spring and the washer holding it in fell off. The bolt and spring floated
over the head of Piper and skittered across the truss.
But you never know what those crazy NASA guys are testing out! Im sure that if they wanted to test out a new item like that, they would just throw
bolts around
But that doesnt mean that they didnt do it for that reason! Good Ideas, anyone else have anything to add to that?
