Souljah, it would have been far more effective if you had supplied the appropriate rebuttals in THAT thread, rather than this one.

I have to say, that that was a very good thread and definately one of my favorites. (Meaning, the scope of the research, not the issue and it's repercussions) It's great to see that someone else seems to feel that way, too. Very good work, and well deserved!

Nobody has denied your rights to your opinion. But was it necessary to make a spectacle of it in this thread?

How is this a sign of where ATS is going?

Members acknowledged Muadib's efforts and rewarded him with their WATS Votes. Whether you agree with the message or not, you should respect the effort. Seems your panties are in a bunch because a member has been recognized for their work on a topic you disagree with.

You most definitely have every right to your own opinion, and it would be against everything ATS stands for if anyone tried to dictate otherwise.

But that's not what's going on here.

This is a thread about Muaddib receiving an award based on a vote by the members of ATS.

All the members who voted Muaddib Way Above are entitled to express their opinions, just as you are. If you disagree with that, then you are disagreeing with the very principle which protects your own right to express your opinion here.

This thread isn't about Muaddib's positions on various topics. It's about the fact that more members voted Muaddib Way Above than anyone else last month, which is a significant expression of the opinions of many members.

If you don't like that, you're free to say so, but I hope you can understand that when you do, you're protesting the fact that other members have different opinions from yours.

I don't want to label you as a person -- and for whatever it's worth, I have a great deal of respect for you -- but I have to agree that this behavior seems immature to me as well.

And that's my opinion, which I have a right to hold and express, just as you do.

I agree. We should play nice even if Muaddib does not share my way of thinking, he does research and spend a lot of time posting what he beleives.

Next Wats will be for a Liberal leftie sort of person who spends the time posting what they believe. It all averages out. Heck, it could even be me.

Getting the WATS award is like getting a Tony, Emmy or even the Oscar.
Now we will all be following your threads and replies. People will notice you, doff their hats when they pass you on the street. You will speak with a voice of authority and you will be respected by young and old alike. You won't have to phone ahead for reservations, you will automatically get the best table in your favorite restaurant and the meals will be "comped" of course.
You have risen above the masses Muaddib and the rest of us can only hope to bask in the shadow of "the master" and learn.

I believe it is pronounced "Moo-wah Deeb". but the "Moo-wah" part is really more like "M'wah".
