I may be wrong but I believe its been a few months since we have awarded the WATS Award. I know one month we had a few members tied, not sure what happened after that. Just finished reading through the thread that was linked in the initial post, and its obvious this was well deserved.

Well I hate to on the Wrong side each and every time I appear;

But, this is a perfect Example of where this Board is going, when Muad'dib wins a WATS; who's next? Does that mean the Board agrees with the view-points presented by him and his research on how the Universe is warming up - and not OUR PLANET, because we throw out tens of thousnads of tons of CO2 in the atmosphere every year?

No, I don't agree with it, and I'm sure many others don't. But he obviously did some good research and put some serious thought into it. And he also gave a good topic that has to at least make you think a little, I mean, come on soulajh....no matter what causes global warming it's still pretty interesting that the entire universe is also warming.

These were highly inappropriate statements to make in this thread and can't be left to stand without comment. If you were a new member I could almost let this go without responding - probably wouldn't though since it's truly bad form to gripe and whine in the announcement thread of another member's WATS award. But when some one has been here as long as you have there's absolutely no excuse on this. You know darned well these awards are determined by member votes. So your callous and inappropriate statements reflect a disrespect for your fellow ATS members' choices.

I think behavior like this is indicative of a significantly immature person to not be able to respect what others find deserving - even if it is in opposition to your own views.

Congratulations Muaddib, wear it with pride man, and keep up the good work.

as much as I want to say what I think its disrespectful and I shouldn't hold personal views of how I feel for this member get in the way of the fact he obviously deserved the award. Whether I strongly dislike him or not, its apparent he worked for it thus deserved it, and Ill leave on that note.

Souljah, I believe that we should cut back on human produced air pollution. That said Muad'ib is pointing out a simple fact that the earth's climate is far more complex a system than the Global Warming proponents would have everyone believe. We also are experiencing Global solar dimming. There's a huge debate now raging in the climatolgy fields as to which is the stronger in terms of effect towards the climate. And what happens to global warming if we have a Santorini/Thera level volcanic eruption which cooled the Earth for possibly a decade? I believe we just don't know enough right now to for certain as to the long term effects of human beings have on the planet. Still limiting or eliminating our air pollutants just makes good sense ecologically.
