That's cute.

Remember of course it's only what you believe, and you can no more prove or disprove it than anyone else.

Don't quote stuff from whatever holy book you align yourself with to disprove/put other people down. It's not nice.

IMO i think that we will destroy ourselves before 2012, from nuclear wars, disease and much more. but maybe if we get a good pres non of that will happen

Second, to the people quoting the Bible, not to start a religious debate here or anything... But you guys do realize that the book of Revelations was not ment to be read literally don't you?

You people are also aware that the Rapture was a concept created by a German priest in the mid 1800s... that there is no evidence for such an event anywhere in the Scriptures - either official or aporphatic - dont you?

They got to you huh........................

Revelations is to be taken literally.

And the signs of the rapture are everwhere...............You just don't see them.

I think its you that has been gotten to my friend.

Can you show me evidence that Revelations is meant to be taken literally?

Can you show me any evidence for the rapture?

The thing you dont know is my best friend is a professor of Religious History. We know what we're talking about man.

Tangent statement: from a more realistic viewpoint, we've all been born again...and again, and again, and again - to learn about and experience different cultures, religions, and ethnicities; maybe even on different worlds. That saying "you get back what you give" is multidimensional in meaning - spiritual (i.e. helping or hurting others); material (i.e. donating money); and timeless (affecting current and/or future lives).

Well sure, it's part of the Word of God. The prophecies prove that the Word should be taken literally.

Can you show me any evidence for the rapture?

There are signs all around that you are unaware of. To get into the explanation will take too much effort. I will tell you this though. Aliens are proof of the rapture. There is always a counterfeit with Satan. Aliens abductions are the counterfeit for the rapure. He can't reproduce the rapture so you have alien abductions.

So am I. I went to HSU.
Where did you guys learn?

If we are living in the end times, be happy that you get to experience it. Out of all humankind ever concieved throughout the history of our planet, only one group gets to experience 'the end', in whatever form it may take, even a plethora of disasters. Which is the group that is on planet Earth when 'the end' happens.

If it's us, we should be happy, we'd be the chosen ones; thats like hitting the jackpot of excitement. Plus, if it did happen like Revelation or the Apocalypse of John describes it, it would be nice to see so many non-believers turning to God. Plus we know that Good beats Evil sooooo

Sorry but i don't believe it's the end of the world quite yet.

Anyone could make a video with some scary Omen type music in the background and quote a lot of passages from a historical "story" book, does'nt mean it's actualy going to happen.

End of times?

What is that like someone smashing your cell phone and wristwatch at the same time?

Exactly, every society has felt they were living in the end times. I'm quite confident that everyone on here will continue to lead a "normal" life and die of old age, cancer, car accident etc. and no one is going to perish or ascend during any sort of rapture. Confident enough to stake my entire, measley as it is, fortune on it. Someone pick an arbitrary date and I'll be more than willing to wager on it. In fact, I'll give anyone 6 months in both directions of the calendar when they pick a date, if the end times happen at any point than you get my money, if they don't than you have to wear a sandwich board that says "I AM A COMPLETE BUFFOON" for 1 week at a location of my choice.
Any takers?

First of all, I don't believe time can end, but I what I do lend a lot of credibility to is the common descriptions written by ancient people all over the world which describe these days very well. Also, many of them point to this era as being a very significant time. So.... here's my counter offer. I don't need the six months, I'll go all or nothing on one day. I don't know if anything will happen, but I will put my faith in the Mayan people. The start, or the end, of some planetwide change which will create a new age that is vastly different from the last 2 000 years course by the 21st of December, 2012, and I win. If nothing happens, or has happened that is clearly a major global life changing event by then, you win.
I have never believed a single end of the world prediction so far, and I laughed at all the furor over Y2K, but that is because they were all from relatively recent sources, and I didn't find them credible. But, after a lot of reading I have seen ancient texts from various major civilizations all pointing to roughly the same time. So, I'll stick my neck out and bet that they were on to something.
I don't want to wear your sandwich board, so we'll have to agree on what we win. I had thought of making it like the tv show 'Pinks': Lose the bet, lose your ride. But that seems too serious. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... I had my heart set on the sandwich board. As I meditate on another possible offer, let me ask you this. You seem pretty sure about this end times stuff, are you doing anything to prepare?

Not so much sure as leaning towards. It is astounding how many diverse ancient cultures all said the same thing though. I am doing nothing more than living in the moment. When Francis of Assisi was hoeing the garden, and a student asked what he would do if he learned he had one day to live he said he'd keep hoeing his garden. I don't want to live my life so that I'd change anything upon learning that my time was up. I have even had a dream about it. But regarding my choice to bet on the ancients, when modern technology and scientists doubt they were onto anything - that is because I have seen how many times the modern scientists have declared that they knew better, only to find that the ancient writing was right after all. If I had to single out one scenario as my favourite for what they were writing about, I would say some type of solar anomaly, when the sun will wobble, flare, or something like that. It is possible that the ancients knew of a long period solar cycle which today is virtually unknown. Astronomers have seen stars of the same type as our sun suddenly have dramatic increases in brightness which are shortlived but spectacularly intense. If I recall, one was seven times brighter. The Mayans have been said to have known the patterns of sunspot cycles very well. But I still am just betting on what I think has the best odds. I would put my second bet on the 'nothing more than an alignment' theory. That is the more popular one by far, but I have never chosen anything based on popularity.

My skepticism resorts from my feeling that ancient cultures weren't nearly as enlightened as we give them credit for today. I think by and large they were good at surviving their environment (mostly from years of practice) but if they were as intelligent/worldly/possessing a higher state of consciousness/or whatever, it seems that they would have been more successful long term. You always hear about cultures being destroyed by drought or disease, it seems that a highly evolved society would succumb to another warrior culture and not something else. After all, if a group of people could predict the end of life as we know it thousands of years (or hundreds) in to the future, they should be able to survive a dry season or small pox? I don't know, I'm just very skeptical...

I am very used to the skeptical attitude regarding possible advanced ancients, but I do not base my views on the world wide myths about them. The Vedas, Atlantis, Noah's Flood, etc. are all sources of stories about the end of a very great civilisation. But the clincher for me was a book called ' Cataclism: the day the earth nearly died.' by Allen and Delair, two scientists who present lots of solid evidence supporting a terrible event, that happened around 9500 BC according to their archeological evidence from sites around the world that showed charcoal in all of them. The mammoths, giant sloths, sabretooth tiger, etc. died out from it, and the myths are our record of it. I consider the great Pyramid to be from that time, built to withstand it in case the people did not. Geneticists have found our DNA shows at least one major extinction, which left a very homogeneous gene pool. Anyway, I digress. I didn't know of a scientific case for the mythic flood until that book, which explains how it would have played out.
But what is coming? Not that, I would think.

I think that there will be no end of the world. Too many people think that george w bush will be our last president. I have seen prophecies about bushes murder and they stopped that (so) these stopped prophecies lead me to believe that they didnt happen... I believe nothing will happen in 2012 >___>, there may be some nuclear wars by then, some kind of holocaust, but nothing stupid like "the end of the world, you do or you die" stuff will happen between then. We may just enter a new beginning because we saw all these prophecies and then they have been wrong. Not that I'm doubting the christain religion, but these are my two cents.

I just hope that time wont restart again.

Here's something for you to think about...

our 1st president was named George W_ashington

and our current and soon to be last president is named George W_alker

yes both presidents have the name George.

this is not a coincidence..its the truth.

the 1st wil be the last.

The reason we are feeling something is coming, is because it is..and that things is the Planet X and jesus is with it..as the planet gets closer, more and more people are having feelings..and there is good reason..its because the true spriit of jesus is moving closer to earth, and it is awaken ouyr souls, the universal mind..and then finally the kingdom will come..and everybody found written in the book will be delivered..which in other terms means..all the believers weather it be in ufo's or jesus or even both..they wiill all be taken to the planet which is really a mothership.

as somebody said earlier..things are getting exciting.

good luck to everyone..i hope nobody is left behind..but truth is there will be some.

god bless everyone who is taken.

There is plenty of scriptures which talk about an event were people are caught up to heaven to meet jesus in the clouds..and ill bet my life on it that its refering to a rapture or whatever you wanna call it.

when your left behind..youll know you were the one whos be tricked..and you did it all to yourself.

In the middle ages in the 11th century people thought the end of the world was then. The Cuban Missile Crisis...World War 2...Saddam Hussein was supposedly the antichrist because he was rebuilding Babylon...so on and so forth.

Use your heads, and think logically.

Well Bush sure was using deception and babel to confuse people.. .. was he not? ... does this person need to know they are the anti-christ? do they need to have an agenda written out by ... "satan?"

I'm not saying its 'BUSH' .. but lots of people out there are knowingly decieving people.

The end is the end of materialism, the end of your prideful flesh... your flesh will die out, and your focus will be ignited from a deeper center, your energy, your spirit/thought... and because of this death of your flesh (not focused on it) you will finally understand the true nature of man.. (energy/thought) WORD manifest into FLESH which is the meaning of LORD... Each of US has a LORD (the same LORD/Human body)....
but we are making a shift from thinking our flesh is US to realizing that our FLESH is a result of the REAL US... the result of THOUGHT. (Holy Thought).
