Why haven't the Aliens tried to contact us officially?

Yes, (and I know this is from Startrek) but what if they can travel faster than light as they predict we will be able to in about 400 or 500 hundred years, give or take a few.

maybe aliens are peaceful creatures. they have advanced technologies to travel from galaxy to galaxy. but yet they have no 'advanced weapons'. when we think of advance aliens, we automaticly assume laser beams, destucto robots, maybe killing another is the most craziest thing in the world for them? they have advanced technology, whos to say their morals and ethics are not advanced as well? to them, we are just a small tiny world that holds barbaric cruel people, and are studying us but made no attempts to communicate with us because of our nature.
