The answer is no. Just keep the faith and do your part to generate interest in the subject. As I've stated before, more important than a petition is an undeniable and obvious interest in the subject, as evidenced by threads on the topic of automotives.

Grady I see you still are a trooper, I will throw my yes vote in as well.
I do like to look, even though my posts may be minimal.

Will wonders never cease? I must check my window to see if the planet is still intact.

Welcome aboard!

I'd hate to be the po fool that tried to out run a Corvette police car!!! You'll never do that against one of those!

I would not mind to see some police departments around here to get a Corvette or something like that, other than the normal Crown Vics. Besides, at least one department that I know of has the new Dodge Challengers.

Weell, it depends. I'd have no problem doing it in an M-series Beamer. Fuel injection, electronic traction control, electronic gearbox, twin-overhead cams...

Gone in 60 Seconds style, I'll take Delroy Lindo's BM over Nicholas Cage's Mustang.

Any Subaru WRX Impreza could do it, but only by getting around the corners faster...(if you know how to drive a turbo-4 wheel drive with its engine lying on its side, not as easy as some think).

Out on the highway, 'though, you've got it right there. The sheer grunt of that V8 is going to tell damn near every time. But not against a turbo Porsche 911, or the odd high-end Euro V8 or V10.

bump

production of TVR sportscars in the UK is to cease with the closure of thier ownly factory on UK soil .

BBC_NEWS Reportage

production is set to resume " in europe " which i think translates into either a threat to the UK govt to give them loans and tax breaks to prevent the closure

or a begging letter to unspecified european governments to give them a golden hello to move the factory to thier country .

so see - we need an automotive forum , because without one , where else can we discuss such important stories as this

here's another vote...

You couldn't outrun any of those particular cop cars...but it might be fun to try
.
Assuming of course I had something capable of doing it... Um excuse me a moment...

Somehow or other, my car knew what I was writing and took it the wrong way... that's what I get for leaving a copy of Christine in the glove compartment. My car has the personality of 'roid using football player...scarey. But it is almost Halloween, isn't it...so the exorcism can wait. Oh, crap, it heard me...gotta run...really really fast.

You might be able to outrun a police car, but outrunning the police is just a little more challenging. Someone in California provides photographic evidence on nearly a weekly basis.

It's not something I've ever tried to do, or would do comes to that... but the fantasy is always there. Blame "Smokey and the Bandit".

And another vote...
