Since we elect, er, appoint those who run the US government, would not the public therefore be responsible for 911? I mean, when someone hires a hitman to kill another, both the hitman and the employer both go to jail...

There are two types of people.
1). I knew what happened before they told me.
2). I never saw it coming.
Which one are you?
Well since you asked...
Neither. I'm one of those who choose to apply more wieght to the thousands of experts which have studied these incidents from top to bottom and have come to the same conclusion. I'm one of those who have been doing his part in the war on terror: not as much as some, but more than some. I am one of those who do not fall prey to fringe semi-experts who are looking to become famous and make money off of 9/11. I am one of those who understand what tenure means, giving professors the ability to say pretty much whatever they want, regardless of evidence, also to benefit their own careers and wallets. I am one of those who hold the irrisponsible fringe responsible for real hidden agendas never being taken serious because of the loud-mouth irrationality that alienates the rest of the world. I am one of those who refuse to inflate the egos of psudo-scientists by swallowing everything they feed me, regarldess of how irrational it is. I am one of those who choose to apply education and common sense to problems, and actually try to do some part to solve them, rather than sit around and conjecture.
I hope that answers your question.
Now I have a question for you. Let's say that you are correct, and the "truth" is found out. Just what are you going to do about it?

The US government as a whole fell on its face. Bipartezen Terrorism! the Democrats and the Rupublicans alike looked like incompetent asses IMHO! Your talking about a major attack that was in the works for who knows how many years before we got hit.
All those polititians, and they can't agree long enough to avoid getting attacked?
Doesn't say much for either party, now does it?

I don't know about you, but I believe forsight is a prerequisite in a position like that. The excuses that I keep hearing, like, nobody knew how a 100 story building would fall.

I don't mean the buildings falling specifically. I'm talking about the chaos within the infrastructure. It is one thing to calculate how the hospitals will fill up due to a chem/bio attack, etc etc, but I think that what happened in NY and LA was really outside the comprehension of most civic leaders and policy makers.

The bottom line is that most people in the United States -- probably about 90 or 95 percent -- don't buy the conspiracy theories. Admittedly, many people here do; but this is a gathering place for conspiracists.
When you have a group of professors of economics, English, and education talking about complex activities the bases of which they simply don't understand, most Americans will just yawn and walk off.
And well they should.

In a world where large groups of Bush supporters still believe that Iraq was directly involved in 9/11 and did pose an imminent threat to the U.S. with WMD's anything's possible.

I will go to my grave believing that 9/11 was a created New Pearl Harbor event.
bush was not elected in 2000, he took over the controls..
the voting machines were so bad, but we used them anyways???
ANY OTHER COUNTRY, would have recounted (twice) , revoted,
protested, then riots..
thanks to mr bush though, everyone NEEDS 2 jobs now, and they are so busy just trying to live, they dont have the time to vote, protest, riot,
its the rich business owners who can take off work to vote, and lobby
everyone else has to work or be fired........very convenient indeed!!
then after business hours they suddenly slam the voting booth doors,
so that the poor people who got off work early still cant vote!..... and the ones who did vote for kerry, got their ballots misplaced/lost/thrown out
