Wow. Until I saw the trailer for Vantage Point, I was sort of 'so what' about the whole thing. Fox playing a secret service guy, assassination plot, inexperienced director, not a very enormous budget. Now, I have to say that this looks like easily the coolest of all the projects the LOST actors have out there at the moment. It even has some LOST-like weirdness going on, but that could just be my skewed perception.
Recently at the mall, we spied a very interesting T-shirt, specifically Charlie's crossed-hammer tee in which he does his heroic swan song in the S3 finale. It's actually a (barely) past-season 2007 GUESS Jeans tee that you might still find on the clearance sales rack at your local mall. If you score your own piece of Charlie memorabilia, let us know! Filming locations site Lost Virtual Tour has just published photos from the set of The Brig and The Man Behind the Curtain. Their co-conspirators, Kos Hummer Tours, found the campsite of the Others where Locke was abandoned with his father, as well the portion of the security fence where young Ben encountered a vision of his dead mother. It's all on private property, but of course, if you happen to be in Hawaii, Kos Tours can actually take you there, but for most of us, the photos will have to do. Carlton needs a hug. In an article at timesunion about the essay portion of the Emmy Award nominations, the Cusemeister seems a little Despondent over the power the of words. Here is what he had to say about the essay phase:
"I don't know how you can even begin to explain 'Lost' in 250 words or less," Cuse wrote me in an e-mail. "We're going to have to rely on the fact that members of the TV academy are TV watchers and hopefully will have seen other episodes of the show."
...
As you've probably guessed, the theme of the contest is to create an essay in 250 words or less that explains why LOST should win the best drama Emmy. Take any approach you want. One challenge is that, it would seem, the actual Emmy essay seems to be asking for 250 words that describe what the show is about. If you want to try to capture the essence of LOST in 250 words, god bless ya, go for it.
Someday, we'll all be in Damon's shoes when it comes to watching our favorite show, LOST, come to an end before our very eyes; for that reason, it's not such a bad idea to get a feel for how LOST's co-creator felt about the enigmatic cut heard around the world. Not that Lindelof is in any way going to be inspired by the Sopranos' ending, but as a gauge of what he finds acceptable or not.
...
Of course the fact that Lindelof, as a fan, loved the ending while others hated it means nothing to us when it comes to how Lindelof and Cuse will end LOST. It does, however, punctuate what Lindelof has said about the ending is true, some will love it, some will hate it; that is just the nature of things. However, when musing the philosophy behind writing an ending to something like the sopranos, Lindelof said “If you feel that everybody is going to hate it anyway, no matter what you do, there’s a certain liberation in writing it.” In context, I think what Damon is saying is that when you are writing an ending to a show that nobody wants to end, you know it is going to be universally despised.
Cuse was feeling the heat in watching the ending. “A sense of fear ran through my veins, thinking that we are going to be in this position, we know the end is coming in 48 short episodes.”
Seems LOST fans are taking a much deserved break from the web. The media research group Hitwise, a kind of Nielsens for the web, is reporting that LOST dropped from the top five all the way to the bottom of the top ten when it comes to television show browsing. The data comes from a group of ten million households. Of course if these are typical households, they may not hold the ilk of we hardcore geeks, but none the less here is how LOST stacks up against the competition.
Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are in New York speaking at the Promax/BDA's annual conference, and let loose a few cool details about the upcoming mobisodes. They also responded, predictably, to the anxiety their comments in the New York Times stirred up over The Sopranos surprise cut away ending. Rest assured, the ending will not be anything resembling The Sopranos'. Probably the most shocking admission was that the ending, as of right now, this very very moment, has been conceptualized.
...
Doesn't it give you sort of a sublime chill just knowing that somewhere, under lock and key, is the details as to how LOST will end? Let's hope there are no Lostfan108s or Insiderscoops vacuuming the rugs in THAT office.
As for the mobisodes, they addressed the fact that these things have literally been years in the making; mostly due to the complexities of casting. Most importantly, they indicated the mobisodes will not be just filler, they will provide an enhanced understanding of what is going on. To what level, who knows!
...
"Next season, well, we'll talk about that later," Cuse said.
While "Lost" viewers will have to wait till next year to see the next TV episodes, Cuse and Lindelof said in the fall there will be a series of "Lost" mobisodes featuring the entire cast and rolling out first on Verizon Wireless and then probably appearing on ABC.com. They said they're keenly aware of the eight-month gap between last month's finale and the return of "Lost" at the beginning of next year.
"How do you keep the show alive in the minds of the audience in that time?" Cuse asked. They're also planning to go back to San Diego's Comic-Con International, where the show was launched, to address May's Season 3 finale and what they had in mind.

Sorry for being a bit iliterate here, but Mobisodes???
What are they exactly, just short clips on the net or something, that we have to pay for??
All things aside, what kind of direction does every body think they'll take it when it's back?
I think there will be alot of focus on Locke and Jacob, it seems that Jacob isn't there by choice, and Locke will help him out, but he fist has to figure out how to do that, maybe more help from Walt.
When and if a chopper lands on the Island, the remaining others will surely be there with some guns, just shoot the chopper out of the sky perhaps...

CNI: "Will Ben and Locke fight for leadership of the Others?" ME: "Yes."
Lost's Emilie and Harold will be joining a huge ensemble cast for the upcoming indie feature "Ball Don't Lie." The movie is an adaptation of the novel by Matt de la Pena, who also wrote the screenplay. Grayson T. Boucher will lay the lead as a mega talented Basketball player plagued by litany of setbacks.
The film also features Rosanna Arquette ("What About Brian"), Ricardo Chavira ("Desperate Housewives"), Steve Harris ("The Practice"), James Pickens Jr. ("Grey's Anatomy"), Dania Ramirez ("The Sopranos"), Matthew St. Patrick ("Six Feet Under"), Mykelti Williamson ("Forest Gump"), Robert Wisdom ("The Wire"), Evan Parke ("King Kong") and Cress Williams ("Close to Home").
IMDB Lists the film as currently filming, with no release date so far.
'Lost' star Emilie De Ravin has joined the cast of a new film called 'Ball Don't Lie'.
Variety reports that the indie drama is based on the Matt de la Pena novel of the same name and tells the story of a teenage basketball prodigy who is trying to deal with life on the streets.
The cast also includes Rosanna Arquette, Ludacris and De Ravin's former 'Lost' co-star Harold Perrineau.
The LOST mobisodes have been one of the shows most elusive mysteries; promised for almost three years, the mobisode project has been pushed back so many times fans had practically given up. Finally, when LOST fans need them most, the mobisodes are on their way to give LOST fans some much needed island mystery stimulus through the torturous eight month wait. The only question is, what the heck is a mobisode?
Mobisodes, as it turns out, are mini-episodes produced specifically for mobile phones. Don't worry, if you don't have the network of choice, in this case Verizon, the Mobisodes will appear online shortly after being made available to phone users - in spots sponsored by Verizon no doubt.
The plot of the mobisodes is something of a mystery. Show runners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have indicated to the press, as reported yesterday in The Hollywood Reporter, that the mobisodes will run for around 90 minutes and should not be confused as an abbreviated version of the show. Despite that, the LOST mobisodes will reveal information that viewers would not be able to get from the show.
Rumor: Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will maintain radio silence about last month's mind-blowing finale until sometime next year.
Fiction. They'll be talking about it much, much sooner. (I'll tell you exactly when they'll be spilling the beans in next week's Ask Ausiello.)
I've been looking forward to the Lost game which is due to be released on PC/consoles, but there hasn't been much info released about it. I was reading a magazine last month which said they would have exclusive details on the game in the newest issue (released today). I checked their website today and found no mention of it being in the magazine, so I email and asked if there were any details in the newest issue. The reply I got said:
"We did indeed promise Lost stuff, and that was on the basis of Ubisoft telling us there would be an announcement at their big Paris event in May... which there wasn't.
In actual fact, they told us that the game's gone into hiding because it's not due for release until the end of 2008!"
AOL recently conducted a poll of readers to find out what they thought was the best and worst of television last season. More than 3 million votes were counted! They had to answer 20 questions about their favorite dramas, comedies, reality shows, and Sanjaya hairstyles. I don't necessarily agree with all the results, but that's okay. It's still interesting to see what got people excited last season.

Best Cliffhanger: Lost
Best Villain: Ben, from Lost

This is a great thread with some awesome info.
The 3D LOST game is on target, despite rumors otherwise. The game, which is built around the Crytek engine (Farcry), has actually been demonstrated to LOST producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse who were said to be pleased with what they saw.
The lack of information on the game from Ubisoft may be frustrating, and might give the impression that there is something wrong, but in reality the game still falls under the marketing umbrella of ABC/Disney. As such, it is not surprising that the grapevine has been quiet.
In response to the new, abbreviated season on ABC's LOST, McFarlane Toys has adjusted the release date of the LOST Series 3 action figures. Originally scheduled to hit stores October 2007, the line's release is now scheduled to coincide with the television premier of LOST's fourth season in 2008.
