those two most likely know about the coming raid and how kate is pregnant...

think about it, jack was interested in sun's condition...

And I really hope that the theory Locke's father put out there is not the truth. I'd be pissed.

the purgatory theory is long dead...

thus, have no fears

my theory is that, when one travels to the island (either intentionally or not), he or she is claimed to be dead by the outside world...

for example, the losties are claimed to be dead and i wouldn't be surprised if cooper was claimed to have died in that car accident...

in fact, i wouldn't be surprised if juliet's sister believes that she is dead...

i am sure that ben's group / other powers would not want people looking for the people that are alive and well on the island...

How did Cooper get there? Magic. At this point I'm willing to accept that as a possibility.

no, its way better than magic...

its a conspiracy...

cooper even noticed that the ambulance worker winked at him and then he passed out and woke up in that room where locke found him...

However, with the slave thing in the ship pointed out again, we're going to see more about this...as with how it relates to the foot statue and whatever totem pole Coop was tied too.

i am sure that those slaves (who were hanso's property) were mining for things with a magnetic anomaly (as was mentioned in the swan orientation video)...

What are Jack and Juliet hiding? Other than they he's turned her already.

maybe they know about the raid and that kate is pregnant...

If the theory being hinted at in tonight's episode is the case, then...

I am going to be extremely pissed for wasting my time with this show.

I don't think they'd reveal it that blatantly so soon especially since there is at least 1 more season.

Oh, and this episode has been relatively predictable so far. Good, but predictable.

Well for me it's been some wasting time that I don't regret if that's the case. Lost is the best show I've seen in a long time that keeps you on your toes and can take a 180 degree turn in a split second and dissappear. And whoever said Lost only has at least 1 season left? I think there's plenty seasons left. So you knew everything that was gonna happen in this episode:shk:
Well you must know someone who writes for the show because I'm still surprised in this episode.
I also think Ben knew that Lock would tell someone about kidnapping the pregnant women in three days. And Lock is really starting to
me out if ya know what I mean. I know he doesn't want to leave the island because he'll become that crippled man he doesn't want to be. And Jack, he's in this for himself now. The wool has been pulled over his eyes, or does he know exactly what he's doing? Evidently him and Juliet have a secret that no one knows about. Well gotta sleep but will check back for information.

Please elaborate on this "theory." If it is what I think you are getting at, I pose this...how can you kill something that is already dead?

How do we know they're actually killing them?

Haven't several of the people who supposedly died reappeared to people on the island, and we simply chalked it up to hallucinations?

Perhaps it is like a "waiting room" and the smoke is the thing that comes and takes people to Hell?

Or could it be purgatory?

I'm not religious in the least, but from my understanding of purgatory coupled with tonight's episode, why couldn't it be?

www.tvsquad.com...

He has a point.

Boone died after resolving the issues with his sister.

Locke's father died after "confessing" about what he did to Sawyers mother.

Those 2 people who poisoned each other died after they came to a head with each other and resolved (in a weird sense) their issues.

I know the Lost producers have said they're not in purgatory, but they also always tell us we'll get answers. I take what they say with a grain of salt.

Maybe he will team up with Rousseau soon.

and what did she need dynamite for???

Anyone think that the next episode will show the "box" Ben was referring to? I'm thinking John is going to walk through the box's door and it will explain everyone's life to him.

ah, instant enlightenment...

i like that...

although, i would love to see another orientation video that explains everything dharma-related...

Could be two things: Either to set a very deadly trap, or to kill the monster. I can't imagine she's found a hatch door that we don't know about yet, since she has already found where he daughter is.

You might get it in the next episode. There were certainly Hanzo/Dharma symbols shown in the preview, so maybe John will be able to watch a full Dharma orientation video.

Also, about the Russian man, I think the fence only effects the monster and not humans. I believe that the man ingested a timed toxin, which was the same one used on Claire to make her cough blood. The fence, when activated, shielded Juliet from the monster, and you could see it pressed against the sonic shield wall, but when the russian guy ran, he went right through where a sonic wall would be.

I've been seeing that all along too but, in my opinion, it's too easy. They use it like a tease mostly, I think. ...eh, I waffle on it.

I keep thinking about Juliette's boss getting hit by the bus. Not an easy thing to set up (in the conspiracy sense) and why not just 'take him out' any old way if "they" wanted her on the island. She says jokingly, "yeah, if my boss gets hit by a bus I could go," and BAM. This and the old lady, from Desmond's back-story after "the key" incident, who knew everything, she seemed to have a spiritual vibe to her too, I thought.

There's this whole supernatural vibe mixed in with sci-fi (hatches, numbers, keys, healing properties) and I swear there's a time issue here too.

Is it odd that Sayid said "I've never seen technology like this before" when looking at the phone/radio? The helicopter pilot is lying too, I think.

All in all, this was a very good episode I thought. Next weeks looks good too.

Also check this out: Namaste, from the sign in next weeks preview.

Taken literally, it means "I bow to you". The word is derived from Sanskrit (namas): to bow, obeisance, reverential salutation, and (te): "to you"

Regards.

I found that odd too. They haven't been on the island for that long, yet they were presenting it as a futuristic form of technology.

Pretty much, any time Sayid gets suspicious, you know the person he is questioning is lying, a bad guy, or both.

Do we know if such a phone exists in real life?

Searching for "satellite phone" via GoogleImage doesn't show a match (in the first couple pages atleast.)

Here's a pic of it from lostpedia.com:

lostpedia.com...

The satellite phone's menu icons in order from top left to bottom right are: GPS, "Home" symbol, Files, Clock, Phone, Settings, Mail, and Uplink. Below that is a hazard sign that says: "INTERNAL ERROR". And below that still is: Calendar, Email, Tools, Main, Dock, Weather, Stocks, and Text. The phone was receiving a signal strength of "three bars".

They also have a SatPhone theories page: *possible spoilers* (not really though (imo))

FWIW, Someone 'theorizes' that the phone was not commercially available before '04.

I'm going to go read their 'time on the island theories' page now. I know I keep seeing a time-paradox angle being set up. Well, I think I do. I'm telling ya'll, retrocausality. Or something to that affect. Or not.

*holds finger to wind*

Regards.

I FRIKKIN KNEW IT!
It was so good to see James (I'm not gonna call him Sawyer any more) let loose and get the revenge he wanted on the man responsible for his parents death, and to have Lock finally over his dad's con.
Naomi is obviously British, but what company does she work for. And I don't think her phone is present as futuristic, Sayid only said he hadn't seen anything that advanced before, it doesn't necessarily mean its from the future. He also hadn't seen Sonic Barriers until he got on the Island and they were there from at least the 70's.

And what does Juliet have to tell Kate? And what will happen when James comes home and rats her out? I think Jack will be in as much trouble as her when she's found out.

Excellent episode!

Maybe. But that would indicate that Jack is part of the others plan to kidnap the mothers.
Also why would Juliette want to reveal that info at that moment? They were talking about the new girl in the tent and how no one trusts Jak anymore.
I think they were going to reveal a plan to "beat" the others.

He might possibly want it to happen. Remember, he has lots of faith in Juliet, meaning that if she told him that pregnant mothers on the island will die without treatment, then Jack would comply with her, to help save the people from his camp. Because the people from his camp would not willingly go to an "others" base, even if it is empty, Jack might be forced to let them be taken against their will.

Also why would Juliette want to reveal that info at that moment?

To create tension between Jack and the Losties. I think her plan this whole time was to make the Losties lose trust in Jack, causing him to join and fully be an "Other." This way, Jack would be willing to taking the "pledge" to be initiated into the Others. Already, it seems that anytime someone wants to question Juliet, or someone questions Jack about his loyalty, Juliet seems to have a smirk on her face, like she's implying "He's one step closer to joining us".

They're supposed to be sub-contractors hired by Penelope. They haven't revealed anymore than that on the show yet, afaik.

BTW, is that actress the same one from the first Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker movie? She was a bomb technician in that movie. Anybody know who I'm talking about here?

And what does Juliet have to tell Kate?

I think they (her and Jack) are just talking about the upcoming raid for the pregnant losties. I think they got a plan (or some ideas) on how to flip it on Ben. I did notice that when Kate tells them about the ship offshore and the crashed pilot they seemed (in their reaction shots) non-plussed. But when they mention the phone they seem, all of a sudden, very interested. Just me?

Amen!

Juliette - "we should tell her"

Jack - "no, not yet"

*smash!* :remote bounces off tv screen:

Rren - "Oh C'mon! Tell her already, jackass!" ... "I hate this freakin show... I wonder what happens next week."

*possible spoilers* from the lostpedia 'time theories' page: here

Juliet claims to been on the island for just 3 years. This would place her arrival at 2001, however shortly before this a bus with an Apollo chocolate bar advert hits her husband. Apollo allegedly went bankrupt in the 70s.

The Apollo logo is probably a red herring, a tease, or indicative of a connection to Mittelos, as the setting is clearly 21st century, as indicated by the clothes, medical jargon, and Juliet's cell phone.

So far as it being a red herring, what if the bus is older (out of place in a 21st century setting) because it comes from the island/box?

The pallet (food drop) seeming to appear out of nowhere. The plane dropping it flies over the island's event horizon and drops it; when it lands it is now on island-time. From the island perspective the plane is never seen because it happened some other time.

The food drops continue even though DHARMA supposedly was cancelled sometime in the late '80s. The food was sent in the 80s, but arrives at a different time on the island.

Why the Dharma Intitative food from the supply drops has such ridiculously long expiry dates.

The drops, and apparent age of the contents, always bugged me.

I'll spare you guys any more quotes, but there's some good reminders of what we should already know. Most of this stuff is just recaps of what has already been shown, with some speculation as to what it all might mean. I don't know if any of it would qualify as a spoiler.

Regards.

new trailer:

linky...

here are some things that i noticed:

- a "namaste! the dharma initiative" sign with "the line" logo...

- dharma volkswagen buses...

- a person in a hazmat suit...

- dr. marvin candle (the guy from the orientation films) appearing to be in another film...

- dr. richard alpert with long hair???

- the text "roger workman"...

- a stick with a smiley face on it???

hmmm, it appears that this ben-centric episode may have island flashbacks (or, more precisely, dharma flashbacks)...

Naomi- is an Aussie not British but close. After the rescue attempt that will fail she will eventually fall for Sayid.

Sayid- starts a thing with Naomi. He will go full battle mode next year, trying to get them off the island.

Juliet- will say that these women will die with out treatment. The others will try and take them but they will be thwarted in the finally. 70% of me thinks she dies somehow, this year or the next. 25% she keeps on torturing Jack with her looks, and long blond hair. 5% she eventually decides to side with the survivors over the others.

James (Sawyer)- Changes his name to James full time. He changes as a person now that the revenge is out of the way. I think it might cleanse him like ben was trying to do with Locke. He settles into a nice existance with Kate until some turmoil breakes them up again.

Kate- The turmoil and loss of Juliet(trust me it will happen), has her thinking of Jack again.

Sun- Next year, survives because Jack or a group steals some supplies from the others that allows her to have a kid.

Jin- Not much to think about here. But he will go full crazy ninja next year trying to save Sun from death.

Jack- Will be forced to stand up for or side against Juliet. This should carry over into the next season. He will eventually have the decision taken from him with Juliet either dieing, or going back. He will be back in the love triangle with Kate. He will step up and be the leader that he is.

Charlie- The season finally will probably be him dieing painfully, while Desmond is preoccuppied. It could be saved for next year.

Claire- The baby will eventually start to show signs of why that lady tricked her into taking this flight (Knowing it would crash). The next year, or later we will find out he's the anti-christ or something.

Hugo- will continue to be Hugo the cool fat guy, who is a little strange. Some kind of castaway, either an other or from some destroyed freighter next year will produce a new girl friend for him.

Desmond- In the season finally "Penny" will join the island as she personally leads the rescue effort, that eventually fails. She is the only the survivor. Or in a way to add new blood, more crash adding new characters to the island. That way they can kill more off like being crewman #8 on a Star Trek episode.

Locke- will lead a power struggle against Ben. Him and the guy who sat next to him and told him about "James" will battle for control of the others next season.

Next Year it will come out that Charles Whitmore and and Sun Father actually own the company that own's the "Dharma Inituative"

Really? Given her complexion and accent I thought South African.

We cannot state she is anything obvious yet (other than being a woman, or a very feminine looking man, with a womans name, if that is his/her real name, which we can't be sure it is, or isn't)...let alone specifically from the U.K.
