Hi. Thank you for such a great site. Very interesting, always. I think a good idea would be to begin a categorized ID file beginning with the most commonly reported type alien species matched up with their craft and if available any statements/thoughts rendered to abductees regarding their planet of origin and purpose for being here.
At least we can get a broad picture of what our alien friends and foes look like. Right now I am inclined to be frightened of them all.

I think the site is brilliant. I like the professional feel it maintains. It seems to attract generally the more serious community, I think anyway. I think you have a lot of people who read these threads and perhaps there's a reason they don't want to contribute. There's a lot of people who are lurkers, I was one of them from about 2007.

Maybe if there was like a spell checker thing when writing posts that might be pretty cool. My spelling's not too bad but now and again there is the odd typo and it's always a pleasure to read well presented posts.

I think things like the ATS news specials help this site maintain it's niche above all other conspiracy forums that are out there. I look forward to seeing this site evolve and grow into the king of all alternative discussion forums!

I missed this thread and created a thread so please pardon me, I will post the info here:

I was thinking if it's possible to have a section about human history. In such a section only topics relating to personality, events, different sects. etc of people are put in. We all have our own history and can put down in writing in threads...many people research historical events, personalities and would be a good addition to ATS. Just imagine the amount of debate and versions of history that will be brought in.

The history like Modern history of the period following the Middle Ages.

History like rise of Europe, 19th century history, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Holy Roman and Mughal empires, the industrial revolution, Victorian era, famous and infamous personalities like Abraham Lincoln, Billy The Kid, Jack The Ripper, Sarah Bernhardt, Jose Rizal, history of events like Great Depression, First World War, 2nd World War etc.

These things do not fall into ancient civilisations but these are our closest history.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions to improve if such a section is created or would it be a total waste

I think that would be a great idea! Right now, if it isn't Ancient History, there is really only the General board to post in. While I like the General board, I think I hate having to shift through all of the different topics to find something for a particular area (like history) that I can't use the search function for even more.

(I went to go and respond to your original thread, only to find it closed. Mods were doing their job though, so I can't complain)

Yes I didn't noticed this thread so by mistake made a new thread
, apologies for that.

I think it would bring intense debate on ATS and a very unique addition never before known historical events. We have great researchers on ATS who can bring great additions to scrutinies each event, personality along with many views on such things.

Forgot to add a member posted a link to a research section in my thread, but that research involves all kind of events such as reptilian research, conscious research etc. There is no separate section for modern history where only history related topics are there.

I'm wondering whether there might be scope for a thread to straddle two forums? Perhaps it would create some fiendishly difficult technical conundrums, but nothing the site designers couldn't handle with a drop of brandy in their coffee.

I know this sounds a bit crazy at first, but it might be worth mulling over. Some threads are literally ideally suited to two forums. I don't think it happens that often, but if there were some way for such threads to be listed in two places at once it would bring in many more members with an interest in the given topic (maybe even double participation), and greatly increase the breadth of the discussion itself.

Perhaps it could be done via a request to a mod at the time of submission. Other options would be for mods to keep a look out for suitable threads, then initiate a double listing, or for the poster to be given the option themselves (though that would likely prove problematic).

If this really might be doable I suggest it could potentially facilitate some very enlightening discussions. The resulting increase in interdisciplinary input could open the door to more lateral thinking, not to mention facilitate more joining of the dots, so to speak.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have noticed threads that would fit the bill. A recent example would be:

History Channel Ancient Astronaut Theory

which was listed in Aliens & UFOs, but would doubtless have benefitted enormously if it had been listed in Ancient & Lost Civilizations at the same time.

Finally, perhaps a technically easier solutions would be some kind of an 'alert' feature in a second forum highlighting the presence of a relevant thread elsewhere on the board. (Though the dynamics would be somewhat less inspiring.)

CTS hm "Certified Top Secret" or "Classified Top Secret!" I do like the sound of Certified Top Secret.

I would like to see a "Traffic Light Protocol" on the treads that people with enough postings and sanity could control. Green would be normal info but still useful traffic, Amber "hey this is limited distro," Nice find! And Red get it while it's hot! Before the internet is shut down! Or so the readers would think anyway to show the influence of the thread & have a graph to show the changes of the traffic light protocol flow also.

P.S. a ATS Enigma machine & Keychain would be outstanding as well.

Something I've always thought was missing: a feature in MYATS to keep links to all your favourite threads, in the style of 'top subscriptions'.

This, I believe would increase the satisfaction/enjoyment level hugely, as you'd always be able to look back/reflect on what seems to be your greatest discoveries on the board.

(PLEASE
)

Just reading this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com... a poll regarding 9/11.

Couldn't you use the technowizardry behind the "flag" button and create a simpler system? That way we could have polls on a huge range of topics without the need for huge threads or monitoring. We could have a sticky thread containing polls in all forums where a range of yes/no questions are offered. Once you've checked your choices, you can click a submit button and a page is displayed with all the current results. For example, in the 9/11 forum, questions like "Did a plane hit the Pentagon?" or "Was flight 93 shot down?", or for UFO's "Was Roswell the real deal?" etc.

The flag system would mean you couldn't vote twice and it's automated so no need to monitor and continually update (although I understand thy some members may want to do this).

Yes but wouldn’t you get some members who are obsessed with flags making up any poll no matter how silly literally all the time just to get those flag’s.

It Would be a nice idea but without adding the flag system into it IMO, but something simple like a yes or no link where you click on one of them and that is then logged and once the thread is locked after maybe a week's of voting for example it automatically shows which has gotten the most yes’s or no's.

I meant the system BEHIND the flag system, not actually flags for the polls. As you said, a couple of yes/no buttons.

Perhaps an feature similiar to the thread subscription under 'My ATS' that allows a post author to see the star & reply activity for each post.

Easier than having to search each thread to find out which post people are responding to.

How about 'above BS' ?

That would be an achievement

Seriously, great site, seems to be evolving to its environment, I think just let it grow.

I'd definitely like to see creation of Poll threads. Where people can create poll and vote.

As most know, if not from my typos, but my PC knowledge is next to null.

Not sure how hard a private message/personal chat type thing would be to have, where members would need to accept and/or invite other members and could delete ppl on his/her IM list.

Only reason I mention this is that it would end the "I want mutter on ATS" and the chatters would all benefit, by not needing multi ATS tabs/windows open at the same time.
But like I said, I know nothing of PC's or how this could be done, or if its even possible.

#2 I would like to be able to see, older threads, I noticed a member asking for a "random" button BTW ty Liquid, I liked this idea, too.
But I don't neccesarily think it needs to be random, maybe something like a program that randomly makes a post on random threads, just to bring it into the most recent posts...so it could/would get seen.

There is so many greaat threads that unless someone goes for a deep digging session, those threads well never be seen or heard from again.

Some times I come on to check if someone replied to my post, only to find that there's like 50 more pages.

Maybe you guys could add a button or something that takes you to your posts in a thread.

Also how about being able to take stars or a -1 system for rating posts or threads. That would keep the trolls and disinfo at bay.

Other than that, the sites pretty much alright as is.

One feature that would be extremely useful is a way to see more than just the last 250 posts on the profile page. While I have no way of knowing how this is stored in the database, I imagine it's likely formatted based on TID, member name, and date. If this is the case then all that's needed is a routine that fetches the next 250 which can be displayed on a page 2, 3, ad infinitum.
