Hi. Not sure if this has been asked. I couldn't find it. There was talk about not having 'anti-threads' and Springer mentioned we should look at the timestamp to make sure we alerted on the newest anti-threads and not the original...when I look at the 'recent posts' I can see the last POST timestamp, but not the timestamp of when the thread was CREATED. That would be very helpful to me, every day, not just when I'm trying to compare a couple identical, or close to identical threads.

What are those 'recent posts' that you're talking about?

I guess it must be something I don't use, I rarely leave the "myATS" page, it gives me enough work.

Up the top there, next to "My ATS", theres a "recent posts" button. Saves you going through old stuff thats already been read.

It's a link up at the top that shows the most recent posts...I find it very handy to follow the discussions that are CURRENTLY being posted to.

MyATS page gets too full of stuff and doesn't seem to update right...and I'm too lazy to clean it out by hitting a silly button....the recent posts page shows you the last poster and seems to behave a lot more, to me, than the myats page...

When I look for a good discussion, it's usually in the recent posts page...

OK, thanks!

I guess it shows that I do not use that menu often.

OK, now, as an answer to KSPigpen (and that was why I wanted to know where I could see those 'recent posts'), I don't know what browser do you use, but most browser show on the status bar (the bar at the bottom of the browser window) or in a pop-up the address of a link if you hover the cursor over the link.

Doing that over the thread titles show their address, and the thread ID shows which is the older, older threads have lower numbers.

This thread's ID, for example, is 21761, a very low ID, showing that it is a very old thread.

Oh dang it. I'm going to have to do some math? But I'm an American.

Great suggestion though. Maybe I can learn to get fast at it. Nah, I think I'll just keep complaining until someone comes along and makes my life easier.

Thanks A.

No, one where you could look for specific posters within a thread. The thread button only works if you click on an already existing post from the member within the thread (doesn't it?). I want to find these posts without having to sift through the pages of large threads. So if it's a huge ufo thread that's been up for a while, or one of the huge continuous threads, I want to be able to find certain members' posts within it, from inside the thread. Or am I just being lazy!

If I'm missing something, I apologise for "man looking".

OK, got it.

I do that many times.

I click in someone's "thread" button and then I go to the address bar and replace that member's name for the one I want to look for.

For example, if I click on the "thread" button below your post, it gives me this link:

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread21761/pg1&mem=Sendran

If I change "Sendran" into "SimonGray", for example, making it look like this:

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread21761/pg1&mem=SimonGray

it will show all the post from Simon Gray.

It would be easier if we had a built-in way of doing it, but it works.

You might be able to use the search button on the toolbar.

Enter the title of the thread for the first phrase and then the member you're looking for in the author field.

It kinda works. Give it a try.

How about a room where people don't speculate! How about a room called The Room of Facts with Proof..... can anyone on this site really prove anything they are saying... Opinions Opinions and views..

When the facts are on the table then the real fun begins.....

Nice one my good man! Hadn't thought of that. So much easier to filter through the threads, seriously, thanks for the time.

Love the avatar by the way.

Edit: cheers to Halloween too, saw the post later on.

Here is another suggestion: How about allowing members that have achieved a certain contribution level and a certain level of applauses access to the RATS forum without paying points for it?

Maybe the level could be say:

Silver level w/ applause level at "we have a deep thinker"

If that is too low then maybe:

Gold level w/ applause level at "simply stunning insight" or "a fine conspiracy".

Of course coding could allow certain members with many posts and many applauses to have this ability too, as well FSMEs (if they don't have this ability already). Just a thought...

Since ATS is a replete with researchers .....

Over the course of the next 6 months , the ATS Staff/Owners could create a trail of clues across the internet complete with intricate back story . Setting the membership the task of answering a question .

Once the trail of breadcrumbs has been laid over the coming months , set the super sleuths loose .

Could be interesting .

You post it, your responsible as long as it is not a duplicate or a TAC violation.
Makes one think about what they post before hand.

The only problem I see with that is that someone could delete a thread just because he/she did not liked other people's posts, and that way not only his/her posts will be deleted but also other people's posts.

I'm sure that this had already been addressed, but why not"Stars"- be introduced to BTS>

They used to be, but were taken off. I think because of the new "contributor levels" they may have wanted the stars to be a little harder to get.

Any chance we can get the same setup for Breaking Political News as there is for Breaking Alternative News? The post form for BAN has the nifty little boxes for your source, extra sources, related threads, etc. and it'd be nice to have those for BPN as well.

Recent Post Customization

Hi guys.

I was wondering if it's possible to code the Recent Posts customization feauture to allow one to not only choose between ATS, PTS and myATS, but from specific forums themselves.

Sometimes when I log in and find myself inundated my American-dominated discussions, in particular from the NWO, Terror, and Global Meltdown forums, I feel like I'm entering internet purgatory, rather than my ATS chill time.

I would very much like to have a Recent Posts homepage that I can fill with all of my favourite things

Anyone else feel the same way?
