Even after Bush's second victory, liberals continue their relentless attacks on President Bush, accussing him of all sorts of crimes, from being liar, a war-monger, a thief and so forth. They ridicule him for imperfect speech and attempt to degrade him in personal ways. I wonder if this is how liberals attempt to make up for their second loss at the WhiteHouse?
As a moderate, neither Republican or Democrat I am proud to say that I have an honorable and wise Commander in Chief in office today. I voted for Bush because there is no room for compromise with these islamic terrorists that have a deep hatred for the West.
And despite all the evidence and reports of islamic terrorism throughout the world, liberals will deny that islam is at fault and will even accuse our own government for their actions.
Not to mention that the internet and many forums are continually polluted with liberal-bias, propaganda and agendas.
I'm just glad that our President refuses to waste time with them. Pres. Bush has been one of the best things to happen to America in some time. I will continue to support him for as long as Islamic threat against the Western world exists.

I admire the fact that you can stand behind your president. Especially stating it here in this forum. As a Canadian and one that follows the politics of the U.S. very closely because as I see people (all people) as important and equal and America used to have a good grasp on that. If your talking about Bush the man, than I'm sorry because he propably is a nice man. But to disrespect all the GOOD, HONORABLE and COMPETENT Presidents of your country is in my opinion disgraceful. This Man is no leader!!!!
He is a RICH kid that did absolutly nothing himself. He has no clue of what a real American is.
Here's a sports analogy -- He is your Hockey Coach's son. The worst player on the team but somehow he is the Captain. You go to practice and work hard, while the son called Captain doesn't have to. Then when the game begins... your no less than an after thought because he is Daddies boy! You sit on the bench while he plays. (you lose!)

George W Bush is not the President. His Father was! But junior doesn't not know how to tie his shoes let alone lead a counrty.

Please REP DEM's look in the mirror realize you are the same people!!! Then find a person that can help lead your country. Not someone who has never experinced life or the rules of life that everyone else must follow.

Just my 2 cents no looking to scrap.... just sad with the world and people how are supposedly running it.

You are joking right? That is just you being sarcastic right?

Did you ever think that maybe his followers were setting up propoganda like you described to do the exact same thing to the same people you just accused of doing so.

Do you really read the news or does someone feed it to you. Might wanna look soem stuff up for yourself.

Sorry for being harsh, but you are only portraying the side of the coin that allows you to win. The other 2 sides of the coin still exist.

So all in all I thank you for your oppinion, and i hope you do more research to help you discover more factual information about what is really going on around you.

Also, next time provide links about this "propaganda" you speak of.

the bush family is destroying America....supported by gullible people who give license to steal from the treasury wholesale.

"the war on terror" is a fantasy created to instill fear and anxiety...which would not exist if the president understood how to actually do his job.

the world supported the US after 9/11, President Bush threw away the opportunity to coordinate world sympathy into effective action to destroy fundamental terrorism. Islamic Threat..?? You have bought into the marketing tools of Karl Rove. Educate yourself before you spout nonsense about my country. The largest threat to world peace is cowboy diplomacy of the occupant in the white house.

Bush has cut education, health care, science, arts and humanitied funding....the list goes on and on. While funds to his freinds in defense and oil industry are yp 300-600% during his tenure.

get your facts straight.

Here's the thing. Islamism is a threat, and global terrorism is clearly the big issue today. A campaign to fight it, and correct for the past errors of colonialism and the cold war by replacing middle eastern dicatorships with democratic regimes, is a good thing. BUT, Bush isnt' going to be able to take credit for it, even if it does work out.

He ID's Iran, N. Korea, and Iraq as the three most evil states currently in existence, and as an axis of state supporters of international terrorism. Having said that, he invaded iraq, and failed, so far, to have any progress on the other two. Its starting to look like he won't take any action against them, and will leave the presidency with things basically as they are now. Having accomplished nothing, he's not really deserving of much credit.

Even with the fight against islamism, which will have to be won by some future president, and it is he/she that will and shoudl get the credit, Bush can't even be seen as having much foresight. Indeed, how can someone that sat idly by and did nothing and let 911 happen be said to have any kind of foresight? He only tackled the global issue of islamist terrorism in reaction to 911, not as part of a good solid plan. He was only awoken to the danger by a direct and major attack, which isn't saying much. At least FDR could see that nazi germany and japan were dangers and preped for it, even if he didn't stop Pearl Harbour from happening.

If there is in the future a string of democracies in the middle east, it will have been created through a tremendous effort, and at great cost, and will have been the result of great US leadership, not from Bush. THats not to say that Bush will be seen as completley credit-less from such a thing, if Gore had been president, there probably wouldn't've been an Iraq war or any concerted action against Iran. But at the same time, Bush has done little to prop up democracy in the region anyway, and has continued to support dictatorships that are sponsoring terrorism (liek pakistan and saudi arabia, etc), while ignoring other major crises, like the Darfur, etc.

Perhaps Bush fight on terror would have been a better success if instead of taking it to Iraq he should have targeted Saudi Arabia after Afghanistan.

Occurs when money and family ties are involve Saddam was not friend but the Royal house of Saud is . . .

Money talks . . . you know the rest and occurs Bush is not shy of corporate involvement.

Too bad perhaps the war on terror may have worked better . . . and he would have been a Hero

Talk about WWIII right there. You realize that Saudi Arabia is home to Mecca and Medina considered the holiest shrines in Islamic world? You might as well ask the U.S. govt. to invade every Muslim nation since Al Qaida is a global network, the 19 hijackers weren't all Saudis. Just cause Osama was from Saudi Arabia don't mean we should go and bomb it to stone age. Not to mention Osama probably like that since the Saudi govt. was the one that stripped of his citizenship and force him to exile.

You know very well that the Royal Family was dip into financing terrorist including Al-qaida and just because they stripped the never found Bin-landen was just a show of solidarity to Bush.

Behind the back the family do with their oil money whatever they want and Saudi Arabia still likes to play with terrorist groups.

Is a shame that our nation pay billions of dollars to that country for oil . . . and that they are called our friends if you believe that they are friends think again because as usual money talks and you know what follows.

And for Mecca and Medina that could have been targets never to be touched.

Wars like politics is all about convenience my friend.

So you pretty much assume the Saudi govt. is backing Al Qaida, the same group that killed Saudis as well as foreign citizens in the country... the same group that attempted to target the Saudi Arabia's oil facilities. The one where Osama called for the overthrow of the House of Saud and to be replace by a govt. that Osama wants.
Of course you could say that Osama was a the black sheep for the Bin Laden family. If I remember correctly that Osama's niece is a singer and she is westernized, does that mean we should kill her too for being linked to Osama even though she never supported Osama? Of course there are members of the Bin Laden family who supports Osama.

Bush first may be a nice guy. He seems pretty friendly. But he is being used and manipulated by the likes of Cheney and Rove so they can line their own pockets. He has thrown America into a huge debt, which we will be in for a long long time. He has stalled scientific development with his veto of stem cell research using embryonic cells. He has sought to ban gay marriage in the CONSTITUTION, which its whole purpose is for people to have "life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". He has gotten us involved in wars without our support despite us having internal problems and border problems. Homeland security is a joke. We continue funding people with oil money who in turn sponsor anti American activities. America is behind on researching for alternative fuel sources. The world hates us more than ever before. Foreign policy with this administration is sick [hey let's criticize Putin some more while we pass the PATRIOT ACT :wink wink:]. You need to wake up.

NO BUSH IS A PLAGUE TO THIS COUNTRY. I NEVER VOTED FOR HIM. THE ONLY REASON HE WON IS BECAUSE OF THE STUPID DEMOCRATS PUTTING IN A CANDIDATE THAT WAS NOT ANY BETTER THAN HE WAS! HE ISN'T EVIL, BUT HE IS IGNORANT, NAIVE, AND SHOULD NOT RUN THE USA.

The people in government are horrible. We need reform. All they care about is votes and downplaying the other party. They are all the same!

Yes It was all Saddam's fault and the Iraqi people, they were the evil, yes I guess I was mistaken.

What a joke.

Why did the Saudi's remove 500 Billion in investments from the United States when they were sued for being linked to 9/11 instead of bringing Osama's head on a platter along with a salad of his financial supporters kidneys?

Because the Saudi's have a vested interested in having America fight its wars for them.
If they personally go about striking other Islamic countries they will be viewed as
traitors to their people, but as long as its Americans doing the job for them
they can hide in the shadows and reap the profits.

They play the media game of killing a "militant leader" here and there every few months,
good PR campaign, but there is no proof the person they murdered is who they say it is.
So I'm never buying what their selling.

All supposed threats from "Al Qaida" that come out of or against Saudi Arabia, as far as I'm concerned, are more bogus marketing material hype.

The house of Bin-Laden is in bed with the house of Bush, and that is enough not to trust them.

No matter how you or I or anybody else try to bring the involvement of the house of Saud, people that are all for the Bush war has decided to stay in a fuzzy state of mind so the war on terror in Iraq makes more sense.

Yeah we blamed the Saudis by going after the Afghans instead. I don't know if you supported such action for the invasion of Afghanistan. We seem to be going after the wrong people don't you think? Anything that Osama touches we invade maybe?

Yes It was all Saddam's fault and the Iraqi people, they were the evil, yes I guess I was mistaken.

If I remember correctly the president wanted to get rid of Saddam once and for all (so called regime change). Says nothing about killing the Iraqi people in the name of justice.

I had not problem with the attacks on Afghanistan, they are better off without Al-qaida is not discussion on that.

But whenever I see what is going on in Iraq and how the war on terror has been brought to their lands and to the Iraqi people then I can not sit still and applaud such and evil thing done in the name of my nation by the present administration as a good thing with the excuse of liberation.

But. . . we have different opinions.

Anyone that has seen the disgusting clips of President bush at the G8 will see why the world is arming itself and preparing for war. Bush is an adolescent in every maner, from speaking while shoving food in his mouth to touching another head of state inappropiately. ( Merckel shrugs bush's paws off her shoulders immediately).

We have the village Idiot in Office. This is the administration that cannot shoot straight nor practice fiscal restraint, nor has the trust of world leaders, other than the fawning of Blair for some reason.

Israel knows Bush is weak, Hezbollah Knows bush is weak, and this invites aggression. Invading Iraq was a STUPID move, and has cost the us dearly, and even more so in the future

And for heavens sake stop mentioning there is a war against Islamism. There is no more a war against Islam that there a war against Christianity. NO religion has the right to wage war on another, regardless of the president thinks God is talking to him.

I think that the authors post clearly shows how the american political system works. Notice how many time he said "liberals". Yet he calls himself a "moderate". He is no moderate. The system is set up for each side to shoot each other down constantly when they are pretty much the same on the political spectrum, the democrats and the republicans are both owned by the same corporations. Let me say their are people of other political ideologies that are quiet upset with the Bush administration, not just the liberals.
Now why in america now is liberal a dirty word? When their such renowned forefathers were the some of the greatest liberals in the world? This i just dont understand.

Based upon the intelligence that Pres. Bush aquires he is able to determine what actions to take. And it is clear that he has carefully determined a strategy along with our military to remove several terrorist operations throughout the middle-east. They don't set up these training camps in just Saudi Arabia, they have them in many places, even here in the US. The information that our President gets is confidential which is why he will not disclose it to the public as it would undermine the purpose, and the security of Americans everywhere. Shame on NY Times, they did something that could be called TREASON!
