Worst Ads Ever! (SkepticOverlord's Ad Hitlist)

It is just too bad that the one poster that comes in to say its your fault and not ATS when someone complains about an ad, is not here doing the same old schtick. That said, the one way to make sure ATS does not start doing this, is to stop coming here as hard as it may be. If all the normal posters even stopped posting there would be changes, it is not like it is food or gas for your car. If ATS ever does start charging to get rid of the ads, the mob protection racket memes will rule the site for a while I bet.

Also, in before some one relates this to Christmas some how.

"Spoutable" takes over a large portion of the "Live" site section on PC-same images as shared on the last page are shown. Also, I'm getting the same with what others are getting with cellphone use as well. With the "Viagra alternative ad" click bait-didn't some of those ads have a corner x that you click on to complain about the image and or not accept it to show again?

I too am not so happy with ads at the bottom of my screen whenever I go to the 'live' overview page.
First I don't need to see sexy whatever.

It seems most ads are tailored to what you've been looking at. At least that's what I get. I see them on every site I go on, all the stuff I was looking at.

Try clearing cache and cookies more often

OK. I'll play. How about the ads that promote ad blockers? Here you are admonishing users to not use ad blockers, making it against T&C and even having code on your site that detects the usage of ad blockers, yet you make money displaying ads for them. I think that's a pretty good example of hypocrisy.

Wasn't the case, as I use Privacy Badger, and have this site unblocked, and all others not, I then clear my cache an cookies regularly for freelance web dev and SEO, I do in the side.

That's the whole reason I posted, this is whats being shown to people fresh...

there is an add i get on my mobile that will hijack my browser and goes to an add for either amazon or walmart saying i won a prize. it only happens on ATS. i don't ever see it any other website i visit on my phone.

I am sorry but that is NOT 'it' (in my case anyway).
This is because I see the exact same ads in incognito mode.
Believe me, I test websites for a living, I know how it works with cookies and what not.

This behavior started right after whatever change in ads by ATS.
From what I understand, it was much worse and some tweaking was done after complaints started pouring in.
However for me on my mobile device (Android, Chrome), I get the same ads every time I am on the live overview page.

The only resolution is to request the desktop version of the site when I am on mobile.

You are right when it comes to cookies and the ads that can be seen embedded on the page.
But not for the pop up ads of late.

Do you have a new ad engine or something?

Look, all I am asking you to not draw your conclusions so quickly.

As for the desktop version of the site, I don't know.
I never visit the site on my laptop.

If you have a mobile device you can try to reproduce it by doing the following:

Open a browser in incognito mode (to prevent the loading of cookies that are stored).
Go to the site and log in.
Go to the account page and make sure you have mobile version.
Then open your browser settings and make sure that 'request desktop version ' is unchecked.
Now go to the live overview page.
In my case, on the bottom of the screen a pop up with ads appears just like the one I posted above.

I got the same thing when I used the search function. Not cool.

I got a freaking blond whore in th etop left of my ATS bar. right where the ATS logo should be.

i am having problems with adds claiming to be amazon and another claiming to be walmart telling me i have one a prize. these 2 adds hijack my browser redirecting me to another page witch i then have to close the browser on my mobile and clear all history in order to open my browser back up and be able to surf the net again. these 2 adds only happen on ATS, i have only visited 4 websites on my mobile and i only get the adds on ATS. all scans i have ran says my phone is clean of any virus/malware.

Hello, there is some sort of problem with the ATS live page. This is where I go to click on links to new ATS threads. However, none of the links are currently working, as there is a mystery, invisible advertisement that cannot be closed that is blocking the links. It appeared 5 out of 5 times I tested the page using Google Chrome. I was able to report the ad on accident when I attempted to click on a link to a thread. Hopefully, this gets resolved or I won't be able to use ATS. Thanks!

Same problem here- invisible ad that cannot be closed & blocks all links on the live page.

If I click on 'report ad' at the bottom of the page the whole page is outlined in red showing the borders of the ad.

This is on a IPad with no ad blockers ever installed & nothing ever downloaded to it.

The only way I can view thread is to use another page such as 'new' or 'recent'

This seems to be sprinkled all around the site. I've run across several of those "Report Advertisement" links. And yes, the ad is invisible and blocks using any links.
