Mossad Terror Cell Busted In Lebanon

A cell of Mossad assassins has been discovered and broken up in what is Lebanon's most successful anti-espionage case. The group confessed to a string of killings ordered by Israel on Lebanese soil. Both sides of the Lebanese government have called for the UN and international condemnation of Israel's activities on Lebanese soil.



No surprises here, international law is ignored in the Knesset. Activities such as these are acts of war and Israel would not have any defence if Lebanon retaliated.

Also Syria was accused and condemned by the World community over its alleged assassination of ex-Lebanese statesman Rafik Hariri. When Israel does the very same, not a beep. Theres equality for you

However, these points are not even the main revelation that got me interested in this story. Check out the last quoted paragraph. The brother of one of the Mossad spies/assassins/terrorists is the brother of an Al-Qaeda recruiter! How blatant does it have to get? Al-Qaeda is a Mossad/CIA false flag terrorist outfit. How else can you explain the brother of an Al-Qaeda cleric working for the Mossad?

There is no way to explain the guy working for Mossad when his brother is an al-Qaeda cleric other than the fact that the Mossad has no problem with al-Qaeda. Think about it, would the Mossad normally hire the brother of a known al-Qaeda operative? Why were they not concerned that the man was acting as a double agent?

Playing Devils Advocate and assuming that Mossad has nothing to do with al-Qaeda, woulnt this guy shop his al-Qaeda brother? If you're working for Mossad surely you'd have a problem with al-Qaeda.

I've got some family members who reflect badly on me, we all do. I don't think that's an indication of anything, except the power of choice, and the individuality of individuals - so to speak.

Now, that aside, this is a very interesting story. Mossad gets away with an awful lot that would land lesser agencies in hot water with their own governments.

If these men were truly assassins, and working to destabilize the country - I hope they meet with swift and uncompromising justice.

That said, I also hope this isn't just a political sacrifice, pinning honest, innocent men against a wall for the benefit of hardliners in the pro-Syria camp. I'm not saying that's the case, I'm just saying it would be a shame if it were.

Yeah I considered it could of just been a black sheep scenario but I cannot for one second believe the Mossad would trust the brother of a known al-Qaeda recruiter. Especially with such a sensative matter as assassinating Hezzbolah and other Palestinian fighters. It defies logic to me.

Trust? No, I can't see them trusting him either. But as they say, you keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mossad was involved in false-flag attacks using AQ stooges, but I just don't have enough information to state that as fact.

It also wouldn't surprise me if they brought some seriously shady characters into the fold for intelligence gathering purposes (bring the devil home for brandy and you can bone up on his mannerisms). Then again, in the world of assassinations and blackmail, everyone is a shady character.

I don't think it's right to praise one group and demonize another, when they use the same tactics to different ends. It's the killing, and the blackmail, and the kidnappings that I object to, not the socio-political/religious justifications supplied by the criminals in their own defense.

"Ok people move along nothing to see here. Holocaust this, Anti-Semitism that, don't side with the terrorists, if your not with us your against us yadda yadda. Lets pretend it never happened ok? I see a lot of people making conjectures and claims when there are more questions about this than there are anwsers....

Let's take a look at some of the things that we can find in that article.

The Israeli network was discovered after the killing last month of two Islamic Jihad officials, the brothers Nidal and Mahmoud Majzoub, in a car bomb blast in Sidon, Lebanon. Lebanese intelligence officers last week arrested Mahmoud Rafeh, 59, a retired policeman from the Lebanese town of Hasbaya, his wife and two children, and discovered bomb-making materials, code machines and other espionage equipment in his home.

I guess there are no strange circumstances described above... Those people who responded don't see anything wrong with a whole family being arrested including two children...

The discovery of the ring is being hailed as Lebanon’s most successful counter-espionage operation in years. It is also opportune for Hezbollah, which says that its military wing must keep its weapons to counter the threat of Israeli aggression.

Humm....so they needed an excuse to make certain that "their military wing keeps it's weapons to counter the threat of Israeli aggression"?...... How....."opportune".....

i also find it "opportune" that members would claim "there must be a connection between Al qaeda and the Mossad because one of the people accused has a brother who works for Al qaeda".... Is it not possible that this man was asked by Islamic Jihad officials to use his influence and help them in "their struggle against the threat of Israeli aggression"?.... Perhaps the man refused and his reward was what is described in this article.... i guess that is not possible at all huh?...

Perhaps Maudibb, but the facts are stated. Your opinions and allegations are merely theory. The confessions of these agents is fact. I would liek to think a Sovereign nations should have the right to keep its weapons as a deterrant to anyones agression. We have ours, Israel has their and so does Lebanon. Unfortunately Israel just lost one of its very good weapons.

Mossad is nothing more than a well funded and racially 'justified' terrorist network. What a shame we can't apply the same intolerance to everybody. We want to wipe out terrorism, but these terrorists are ok because they are the good guy terrorists.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh said the report on the investigation includes unequivocal evidence and added that Beirut would file a complaint with the Security Council in order to "present Israel's nakedness before the international community," the Lebanese As-Safir newspaper reported on Friday.

According to As-Safir, the Beirut decision is meant to reduce the diplomatic pressure that has been placed on the Lebanese government, particularly by U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman who has expressed doubts as to the veracity of the investigations findings.

Feltman also maintains that Hezbollah - and not Lebanese intelligence - stands behind the claim that an assassination network was exposed.

Feltman even hinted that the affair might negatively influence American-Lebanese relations and U.S. military aid to Lebanon.

How ironic it would be if it was in fact Mossad which killed Hariri.

There are many, many allegations of shady dealings on the part of Israeli intelligence, including some disturbing connections to 9-11 that remain unresolved to this day.

I'm not surprised to see that Mossad has been operating in Lebanon. That's something of a given.

However, the role of Mossad and other Israeli clandestine services in possibly fomenting terrorism for political purposes is something I consider worthy of investigation.

Such investigations must be free of overt bias and instead focused scrupulously on fact-finding if they are to be fruitful.

If any ATSers should prove capable of doing this, I imagine other ATSers would be very interested in what they might uncover.

But they Love Arabs why would they do such a thing? Its only the arabs that hate Israel. I don't believe this news at all.

Those guys in Jersey that were supposedly cheering at the sight of the towers crumbling and people dying were really crying and stamping their feet in anger and pain.The clapping sounds were their hands hitting their foreheads in disbelief.

Really, you think so? Are you talking about Lebanon? Because, the facts don't really match what you are saying, seeing as Lebanon has a Christian president.

* The President is required to be a Maronite Christian;
* The Prime Minister, a Sunni Muslim, and
* The Speaker of the Parliament, a Shi'a Muslim.

Its ok Jamuhn, it seems most people who believe any Arab country whos government does not bend over for the West is a Jihadist government. Plus, it is Anti-Semetic (not directed at you Maudibb, just for those who will mention it) to condemn Israeli intelligence of assassination and destabalizing.

I have trouble believing statements such as this:

I wonder what methods were used to extract the "confessions" from the entire group, if it is at all true?

And I wonder why it has not been reported extensively in the worldwide media?

Well I dont think Syria gained a thing from assassinating Hariri. It has the hallmark of Mossad all over it, also given the very presence of this Mossad death squad in Beirut its more likely the Israelis did it. They have multitudes more to gain from having Syria implicated in Hariri's death than the Syrians do.

Lebanon was invaded by Israel in an imperial expansion attempt, I would not be surprised if they tried it again.

That is true, but its growing harder and harder for the press to hide behind its stream of positive euphamisms when it comes to Israel's blatant breaching of international law, murder and terrorism.

Well I would like to help out with that. Whether or not some people will accept that I am not biased is another thing entirely.

This does not really suprise me at all , if anyones read the book Way of Deception by Victor Ostrovsky they will know what the Mossad is capable of.

It natural for Mossad to operate in Lebanon, they have been there most of the past 50 years.
What makes this story a bit uncredible for me is the fact they had confessions from Mossad agents on deniable mission. This sounds either like torture or false flag/set up.

ps. I am 99% sure that Mossad does assasinate alleged terrorists in Lebanon, but i doubt that they would reveal it.
