Over FIFTY earthquakes in the last several hours in Alaska and still counting

Greetings...

I was wondering if anyone has made any connection between solar activity and earthquakes. I just checked this website to see the current solar status and the Solar X-Ray is Active and the Geomagnetic Field is at Storm.

I checked it earlier today and it was quiet.

Just out of curiosity, I had went through the archives awhile back, to see how the sun was acting on the days prior to some of the large earthquakes that happened over the years and noticed a change in pattern in some of the charts. Namely the Electon Flux and Magnetometer.

Here is the archive I went to see if there was some kind of connection.

Also, the day before on the Live Internet Seismic Server, I noticed lots of activity from IU/FUNA,Funafuti, Tuvalu area. Not only that, but also when i saw the USGS website the other day I wasn't seeing as many significant earthquakes happening and was wondering if something was brewing. I believe someone mentioned that they took notice of the same thing on the 11th.

These were just some of my observations and I felt I needed to share them here.

The two planets will fit behind the tip with room to spare. Mercury, meanwhile, hovers just below: sky map. Wow!

Mark your calendar: May 31st, June 7th, June 15th, June 17th. Four sunsets, three planets and a star cluster--not a bad way to end the day.

Besides the current solar activity, do not forget this information I posted on June, the 15th.

After living in california for a couple of years, I HAD thought I was done with earthquakes (originally a Calgarian)....Vancouver get's occasional earthquakes and I am not fond of them, nor have I ever been!

I'll be watching to see if any earthquakes have been recorded off the coast here...very creepy stuff.

It was funny but last year we had a tsunami warning (not much of one as NOBODY seemed to know we were in a state of "alert") All of our tsunami sirens have been disabled as far as I know too, so here's hoping the ball doesn't drop in our neck of the woods! I don't have cable TV and I rarely listen to the radio as it's all crap in Vancouver...so I'm out of the warning system loop!

You know with everything going on i.e. the earthquakes....the sceintist saying we need to colonize space ( I believe it was Hawkins) ....the geyser errupting in Yellowstone Park for the first time since 1998 ... www.msnbc.msn.com...

It is no wonder that everyone is a little edgey these days. I am not one to buy into the "The Earth is going to end today" Theories but man there are some wierd happenings around lately.

Vancouver area and BC coast is due for a major 9.0, but this could be any minute or next 3 or 4 hundred years. Tiiis would be the Juan de Fuca plate, that is in a subduction zone, and they say Vancouver Island will slip under the North American plate. It is moving all the time, slowly at this point. There is another fault line coming up from the states that goes through Hope.

I remember that tsunami warning last year !

Is it really unusual for there to be that many quakes in one spot? It seems to be quite common, there are thousands of minor quakes worldwide, daily. Isn't indonesia constantly shaking ?

Supposedly experts say either the pressure in yellowstone (which it will eventually. That is a fact) become too great or it will only take a large earthquake or shockwave from a close by one to disturb it enough to cause a instability throughout the whole magma chamber. This means eruption of the now 400 (4000?) year overdue super-volcano and goodbyesunshine and fresh air.

I woke up right before 5:30 feeling a big single tremor or thump, which made my building make sound. Having read this thread yesterday about the earthquakes, I woke up fast, then went to the USGS.gov site, and sure enough there was a 4.7!!
I am in San Fran, the epicenter was about a half hour drive or so away from where I am. So I imagine they felt it more so than I did. Maybe I should get that earthquake preparedness kit, that or looting supplies!:

AFter going over the data, it looks as though this is just unusually high volumes of movement via the subduction plate. This means one of two things on the spectrum.

1: This is healthy movent in the sense that the plates have encountered some friction and this is a way for them to blow off some steam. The variance in depth of these frequent quakes suggests that the lower part of the crust is causing movement in the upper crust and the lithosphere is simply settling. Its the lithosphere's own balancing act.

2. On the other hand, recent major quakes have been predisposed to a sworm or series of many small earthquakes, followed by a +7 quake and then the big one.

All in all, it is too early to say. As much as we think we know about tecctonic science, a lot of it is still very unpredictable. Nothing to panic about though. Sure is fascinating.

Please don't make these quakes a religous thing. Please. The are already enough religous freaks out there, And no matter what happens it has to do with god or the devil or the antichrist. It's natural for an earthquake. IT IS NOT THE DEVIL FOLKS. I REPEAT, IT IS NOT THE DEVIL. oh and I don't know where you read that God made earth for the sole purpose of imprisoning the devil, but that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Coming from a minister.
