Have you bought the Season1 DVD yet? i'm gonna get it at the end of this month.

They seem to be swapping stories for skin now, not a good trend to start in a cult show.

Venom is a wuss.

If your not down with Venom try Apocalypse on for size! He is the biggest baddest mofo ever thought up. If doomsday can take down the man in blue pajamas then Apocalypse would trash him like his name was hefty. This about it, the ability to shape shift into anything including complex lasers and saws, force fields, the ability to grow to any time, and last but not least time travel. So A could just go back in time and punch the windshield out of Superman's intergalactic rocket ship before he even knew what hit him, then it is just a quick drop-kick into a black hole and that's all she wrote. Find a way to beat a man with all that going for you and I will give you a gold star Ocelot.

Hands down Apocalypse beats anyone anywhere at anytime. There is a reason there is an "Age of Apocalypse" and not an "Age of Superman".

Jesus H Christ (superhero).

As soon as I saw Seekerof's name as the last poster, I knew he would be coming here writing about Thor.

How the # does a Norse God qualify as a superhero? He is a deity, an immortal whose business is in Asgard, who comes to Midgard solely in pursuit of his fetish for nurses and other human females.

The fact that he graced the cover of a publication that said "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" doesn't give him automatic superhero status. There just isn't enough room to say "Earth's Mightiest Heroes Teamed With The Norse Mythological God Of Thunder".

Yes....sadly MA knows of my weakness for this blond-haired freak, errr, I mean Asgardian god....
Thor is cursed to be a mortal bounded to godhood/Thor through a little ole' cane....
He is a member of the Avengers....Marvel classifies him as a "Godly" superhero.....

Would this not make him a "superhero"?

I believe there may need to be some categorization of superheroes, which has no doubt been done elsewhere, but let me kick it off with these that I have thought through quickly.

Superheroes can be (category followed by examples):

1. Regular humans with heroic performance when called upon.
Rick Jones, or any mother who saves her child from death calling upon hidden strength, in the real world...

2. Regular humans with unusual high training and skill levels (martial arts, weaponry etc).
Shang Chi, Hawkeye, Black Canary, Batman

3. Regular humans with superhuman strength.
Arnie The Governator

4. Regular humans who evolve into superheroes through misadventure
Spidey, Daredevil, FF, Hulk

5. Regular humans who evolve into superheroes through scientific experimentation
Captain America, Giant Man

6. Human created non-human or semi-human superheroes (robots, androids, cyborgs)
Metal Men, Vision, Deathlok

7. Mutants (homo superior) born with special powers
X-Men

8. Earthbound heroes with mystical powers
Dr Strange, Dr Fate, Jesus Christ

9. Aliens who are superheroes because of their superior or different DNA
Superman, Captain Marvel

10. Deities or god-like beings from other realms and dimensions altogether
Thor, The Eternals, Hercules

11. Funny animal heroes
Super Goof, Destroyer Duck

I am rusty on where the likes of Doom Patrol or The Inhumans ought to be placed.

Suggestions and revisions are welcome.

There are simply too many superheroes that are good, The Punisher, of course, Colonel Fury
, then there is The Hulk..but my all time favorite comics charater ever?????

Dr. Doom

His personality is kinda close to mine (no, people, I don't yell and scream in real life---I'm rather composed and reserved.)

More distinctive than Dr Doom's rantings is his burning ambition to rule the world.

The one hero I can't stand is Superman. I don't know why. I guess its because he's indestructible. He has no foil but for kyrptonite. That's why I LOVED it when Batman kicked his ASS in "Dark Knight Returns."
