Does anyone other than me remember an incident several years back involving Cranberry Glades West Virgina?

If my memmory serves, there were hunters in the area that stumbled on a large facility in that area and reported some VERY large satellite dishes.
The "rub" was that this was a CIA listening post and they were supposedly listening and recording domestic communications. This was pre-Patriot act and war on terror, so was entirely against the CIA mandate.

This was several years ago and at the time I was not interested in conspiracy, or even the misuse of Governement at the time, so I paid it very little attention. Being from West Virgina originally, I have tried to find any information on the subject and even gone there to try and find the facility. The area is a HUGE wilderness so I had some great times backpacking and sightseeing but that was all, no luck.

So, if any ATS members recall any of this I would appreciate the help. I have a vacation coming and I am thinking of going back and look again.

Added note:::
This is all from my fallible memmory so if this can be refuted, please feel free to "chime" in as well.

Broke down and called my sister. She grew up with me in West Virgina and graduated from WVU as well, except she was smart...magna cum laude and all..

She also remembers the newspaper articles and she said it was only ran a couple of days and then disappeared from the radar.

Still searching but having no luck, At least I wasn't the only one that "dreamed" it..

police_officer, do you remember the newspaper it ran in? Maybe something could be found in their archive section. Just a thought, might work though.

Yea..I read it in my hometown paper in Hinton WV. That paper is now defuncted.
Cranberry Glades is near Elkins WV a good sized town. But their archives are not available online.

Hey everybody...
I'm on here under this ID until they find out why I can not log in under PO339.

Seems that during the server replacement, I got lost in the soup.

my family is from elkins and ive never heard of this, ill have to ask my aunt and uncle who still live up there if they have heard of this. small town people like that usually dont forget about things like that or let it get swept under the rug if its true.

Thanks I am fine Omega
How are you doing??

I keep getting results about some Rainbow Coalition being harrased by the police there in Cranberry Glades...

After talking to my sister I am even more convinced that there has got to be something there..

Even she said it was "covered up" and she is really really not into this stuff at all.

Thanks

I have been there...It is really something to see and the photos do not do it justice, there are numerous dishes there in a large open field.

No this is in Green bank..
I specifically remember this being in Cranberry Glades. Though in the same section of the State, the facility at Greenbank has been known for years. Schools do field trips there.
Doesn't mean they are NOT using it though.

Good Find

prorev.com...

This may be something....

Same general area as Greenbank, just appears to be more remote..

I would really like to find something on the cover up...

Is this stuff "out of this world" or what?

haha nice pun, yeah its rather insane what things go on behind our Minds, im more concerned with the buildings we cant see on land. for they must house the real problem.

Man they got that site tucked into the base of that mountain.

thats a good array, funny how this doesnt show up anywhere else online.

I wish I could remember more detail

I remember it was 2 hunters that found it..
I remember it ran in the papers for a couple of days then nothing..
I can not even really tell you when except it was several years ago..

I grew up in Summers County, the south end of the state. I did go to college in Keyser before transferring to WVU so I use to "stomp" around that area a lot. I was young though and had "other" things on my mind..
