How can anyone read the ocean report here? Its just a bunch of numbers to the layperson.

There were a 40 and a 70-foot wave reported in the areas SW of Ireland and West of the Bay of Biscay. One was reported by a ship the other by a Buoy. It is important to note that the ship takes measurements of Observed Wind Wave Heights and the Buoys are Combined Seas. Now what that means I don’t have a clue, but they are obviously different measurements. The instructions say that the measurements are also averages over a 20-minute period.

WVHT :
Significant wave height (meters) is calculated as the average of the highest one-third of all of the wave heights during the 20-minute sampling period. See the Wave Measurements section. Note: Buoy WVHTs are combined seas whereas Ship WVHTs are observed wind wave heights.

While this was going on, I was in chat with some of the folks over in the UK, and it was apparent that they were in the middle of a storm over in that area. I also have seen a report of a level 3 earthquake in roughly that same area in the last couple of days. So these waves might be related to either of these things or might just be rough seas or rogue waves.

Maybe i should add that there was a small earthquake in Stockholm/Sweden 25th, and its very! rare that they get any earthquakes at all. It was not a big earthquake, 2 on the richter scale.... or whatever it´s called.

There are minimal earthquakes starting to occur all over the world. It's a result of the Sumatra quake of '04 I believe. Things are just now beginning to be felt worldwide. Just my take on it.

My personal take on this, is just that the earth at this moment has some steam she wants to let off. I feel bad for whomever it affects, though I have a feeling it will be that Indonesian volcano.

It's a fact of life though, I mean, every time Sweden has had one of these "very rare earthquakes," has Eric Julien been around to say "I told you so!"?

I got a kick outta that lunatic on savelivesinmay.co .That julien guy is definitly wacked. He posted a message in his forum that he actually saved millions of lives from the tsunami. Some people are just so delusional its pitiful.

wasn't the guy just an air traffic controller. Like one of those guys that works in the towers at airports. And I think he had a vision or something.

I think its good they didn't lock it. Its good to be able to discuss idiots like this who manipulate naive people. Maybe people doing google searches on this topic will come across this thread and see other opinions about that guy since he was routinely pruning off any negative posts in his forum. It kinda gave the illusion that no one was negating what he was saying. I would have just packed it all up and closed down, rather then look stupid and move the goalposts a little further back. He deserves a nice thick steel-toe kick in the pants just for being an idiot.
