Atleast your not on dail up

I had to go back to dail up for a while because I moved and no DSL/Cable available in my area, talk about hell.

I am consumerly addicted to my broad band.

sad isnt it?

sometimes I feel it's too slow

it could ALWAYS be FASTER

WOW! I was away at school for six hours and this board expanded by 2 pages! AWESOME! Thanks for all of your comments, and keep on going! I'd talk about PCs, but I got some homework
to do. I'll be back when I'm done...

I feel outdated all because my Dad is too cheap to get cable (internet, we have TV). I'm stuck using NetZero HiSpeed, which is like advanced Dial-Up. It actually works. It actually is 5x faster than standard dial-up. I feel like I'm using VERY cheap DSL (14.95/month). But I would much prefer using Optimum Online (our local cable service). Oh well. I hope he changes his mind soon...

Yeah, I'm stuck with advanced 56K. Its not REALLY bad, but i would certainly prefer Optimum Online. NetZero HiSpeed is well worth its money, though.
I'm just hanging in here...

I work in the computer components industry, so I pick up everything at trade price, sometimes even less (like free ..... if it's a freebe from a supplier! lol) so the HDD wouldn't cost that much, and the AMD, sorry dude not a fan of AMD, also heard rumors in the trade of major distributors not wanting to sell them because of reliability issues????? dunno how true that is, but I prefer to stick whith what I know, might swap over ... i'll see how it goes

Thats a pretty nice setup you're building. Why not go with windows xp pro instead of 2000?

Reliability issues with AMD?? LMFAO!!!!
No way. I've used AMD for years and Ive never had any problems with them. I love AMD. But Im not one these psycho fans that would never buy Intel. If intel comes up with something awesome I might consider changing platforms. But for now im staying put with AMD.

I agree. Go with Windows XP Pro. I have it & love it. TO XP HOME USERS: Upgrade to XP Pro! It has more security and is just better than XP Home. Go to www.microsoft.com... to see why its better!

DJDOHBOY,

what is "un realiable" the cpus? or the boards????

i get what ever's faster if i wore you i would try the AMD first

Like I said i'm only going on what I have been told by the big Disties in the UK, but if you like AMD than thats your choice, I know people who swear by them! I also know people who swear AT them! but at the end of the day it's down to personal choice.

Same with Windows XP Vs 2000, I hate XP with a vengance!!!! I hate it's very existance, 2000 is a far more reliable and stable and secure platform.

Plus I hate the "lovely people" at microsoft who change the upgrade paths on XP so that if you dont want a specific update or dont agree with a new EULA you cant get any more updates until you domnload the thing you didn't want! (sorry for going on so much! god that feels better!!!)

I thought this thread was dead... oh well, i'm glad its not.

DJDOHBOY- Give XP Professional a chance! You will get to like it and it isn't based on DOS! Snap out of it!
CAN I GET SOME HELP AROUND HERE?!
