Trust me, it's way too early to say.
It does look more likely however that there will be a significant snow event. WAY to early to use the b word

HERE IS A SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE...

A LOW PRESSURE CENTER DEVELOPING OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN
STATES...AND THEN TRACKING UP THE EAST COAST...WILL IMPACT OUR
WEATHER FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW IS
POSSIBLE FOR AT LEAST PARTS OF THE AREA.

WITH MILDER AIR COMING IN FRIDAY...AND THE EXACT STORM TRACK STILL
A BIT UNCERTAIN...RAIN MIXING IN IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR
PARTS OF THE WEST VIRGINIA LOWLANDS LATE FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY.
SNOWFALL COULD STILL REACH ADVISORY CRITERIA THERE...THREE TO
PERHAPS SIX INCHES...FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY NIGHT.

IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE MOUNTAINS OF WEST VIRGINIA AND
SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA...TEMPERATURES SHOULD REMAIN LOW ENOUGH FOR
PRIMARILY SNOW. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR WINTER STORM CRITERIA
SNOW AMOUNTS OF SIX OR MORE...PERHAPS TEN....INCHES FROM FRIDAY
NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY AND INTO SATURDAY NIGHT.

AREAS NORTH AND WEST OF THE OHIO RIVER MAY BE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE
WESTERN EDGE OF THE STORM FOR SNOWFALL TO MAKE ADVISORY CRITERIA
BUT FALL SHORT OF WARNING CRITERIA...WHICH WOULD BE IN THE RANGE
OF THREE TO FIVE INCHES.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES FROM YOUR NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE...INCLUDING THE ISSUANCE OF WATCHES...WARNINGS
AND OR ADVISORIES CONCERNING THIS POTENTIAL WINTER WEATHER
EVENT...AND FOR UPDATED FORECASTS OF SNOWFALL AMOUNTS.

...SNOW POSSIBLE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...

TWO WEATHER SYSTEMS WILL BRING SNOW TO SOUTHERN INDIANA AND
CENTRAL KENTUCKY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

FIRST WILL BE A COOL FRONT THAT WILL DROP SOUTHEAST INTO CENTRAL
KENTUCKY ON FRIDAY. LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN INDIANA
AND MUCH OF CENTRAL KENTUCKY DURING THE DAY ON FRIDAY. ACROSS
SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY..TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARM ENOUGH IN THE
AFTERNOON FOR THE SNOW TO BECOME MIXED WITH RAIN. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD BE LIGHT WITH THIS SYSTEM AND OCCUR MOSTLY ON
GRASSY AREAS.

THEN FRIDAY NIGHT LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE GULF COAST
AND MOVE NORTHEAST. THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR A
MORE SIGNIFICANT SNOW...MAINLY ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY FRIDAY
NIGHT INTO SATURDAY. THE AMOUNT OF SNOW DEPENDS ON THE TRACK THAT
THIS LOW TAKES AS IT MOVE NORTHEAST. IF THE LOW MOVES MORE
EASTERLY THEN MOVES NORTH ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST...SNOW AMOUNTS
OF 1 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE LIKELY. BUT IF THE LOW DEVELOPS FARTHER
NORTH AND MOVES NORTH ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE APPALACHIANS
PARTS OF SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY COULD RECEIVE HIGHER AMOUNTS OF
SNOW.

FARTHER NORTH ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY AND SOUTHERN INDIANA
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE LESS THAN 2 INCHES.

WITH THE TRACK OF THE LOW AND SNOW AMOUNTS STILL UNCERTAIN...KEEP
UP WITH THE LATEST FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS FROM THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE.

...ACCUMULATING SNOW POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND...

LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE GULF COAST ON FRIDAY AND THEN
IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE CAROLINAS LATE FRIDAY
NIGHT AND SATURDAY. THERE IS STILL A LOT OF UNCERTAINTY CONCERNING
THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS LOW PRESSURE...WHETHER IT WILL BE CLOSE TO
THE MOUNTAINS...OR FURTHER EAST CLOSER TO THE COAST. THIS WILL
BRING THE POTENTIAL OF ACCUMULATING SNOWS TO THE AREA DURING THE
WEEKEND. ALONG AND WEST OF THE BLUE RIDGE...TEMPERATURES WILL
PROBABLY BE COLD ENOUGH FOR ALL SNOW. FURTHER EAST IN THE
PIEDMONT...IT MAY BE A WINTRY MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW LATE FRIDAY
INTO SATURDAY. BY SATURDAY EVENING...ENOUGH COLD AIR WILL MOVE
INTO THE REGION TO CREATE ALL SNOW EVEN IN THE PIEDMONT.

MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE...MAINLY IN THE
MOUNTAINS.

...ACCUMULATING SNOW LIKELY TO END THE WEEK...

A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE REGION ON FRIDAY. AS IT DOES SO...IT
WILL SLOW DOWN...AS AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE TRACKS ALONG THE GULF
COAST AND INDUCES AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE FURTHER SOUTH ALONG THE
FRONT OVER THE GULF COAST STATES. THIS LOW IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD
MOISTURE NORTH INTO THE REGION AS IT MOVES ALONG THE GULF COAST ON
FRIDAY NIGHT AND OFF THE CAROLINA COAST ON SATURDAY.

PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO EASTERN KENTUCKY LATE ON
FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO FRIDAY EVENING. TEMPERATURES MAY BE WARM ENOUGH
FOR THE PRECIPITATION TO START AS RAIN...ESPECIALLY IN THE VALLEY
AREAS SOUTH OF THE MOUNTAIN PARKWAY...BUT PRECIPITATION SHOULD
QUICKLY CHANGE TO SNOW DURING FRIDAY EVENING. SNOW IS LIKELY FRIDAY
NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING AS UPSLOPE WINDS DEVELOP BEHIND THE
DEPARTING LOW. DEPENDING ON THE EXACT TRACK OF THE LOW LIGHT TO
MODERATE ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE. AT THIS POINT...IT APPEARS
THAT THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS NEAR THE VIRGINIA AND WEST VIRGINIA BORDERS.

...ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW EXPECTED ON FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY WITH
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP NEAR THE TEXAS COAST
ON FRIDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL STRENGTHEN AS IT TRACKS NORTHEAST...AND
SPREAD RAIN ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA ON FRIDAY NIGHT...WITH SNOW IN
HIGHER ELEVATIONS. AS THE LOW TRACKS ACROSS THE

Whoa! I'm definately not criticizing anyone or anything!
Please tell me what to edit in my previous post that made you think that

And yes, it's looking more and more likely there will be a big snowstorm this weekend. Finally.

As long as it hits the Northern Virginia area good I'll be happy, the sooner we get that last big snow the sooner spring will come, this freak warm period is getting old real quick.

No. No spring yet. I want at least a solid month of winter! Is that so much to ask!? We get 6-7 months of warm to hot weather, can't we get at least one with cold and snow! This was a horrible January for this area. Temps in the 60s!? Are you kidding me?
Anyway, this won't be the last big snow of the year for the DC metro. The pattern has finally changed it looks like, and long range forcast are showing we could get another storm in the next couple of weeks.

grim:

^o go away and rain on some one elses parade, bug off. you can come back with youre "i told you so" if it doesnt happen.

You pointed up to my post so I'm assuming you're talking to me, but....I don't know what you're talking about.
I said it probably WILL happen, it's just too early (it was too early yesterday) to say exactly.
I WANT it to happen! If it doesn't, it'll be raining on MY parade.

Here's a better pic l0rds of the clipper you posted that will feul the strom (note it's hotlinked, so as time goes by this will change, and there may not be anything there after a few days)

It does look more likely however that there will be a significant snow event. WAY to early to use the b word

pretty much everything you said was more or less telling me i'm wrong.. but the first line kinda made me mad...

no harm no foul.... I'm just good at reading models and thing and my predictions are usually a little different from other meteorologists, which is not bad, cause as of late they cant predict worth a crap..
