After a year of trying to have an OOBE the normal way, I have decided to use a binaural beat program to induce one.

The thing is, I cannot seem to find a suitable program, which is why i call on you, fellow ATSers.

My guidelines
- its free
- it allows me to save the track to a cd since my comp doesnt have a headphone jack (its old)

Does anyone here use such a program? Can you tell me whats the best program to use, the best frequency to set it at, etc?

Again, thanks for your help in giving me the opportunity to experience astral projection, I think this method will work.

I prefer SBAGen: uazu.net...

Free, opensource, programmable, and multi-platform.

Enjoy.

veespec, ive been to that site before and the program costs money to get.

hypomonk, thanks, ill check it out.

If anyone on these forums uses such a program to aid in meditation, awareness, or OOBEing, then I would love for you to share your experiences. If this works as I think it will, then it may be possible to make OOBEing more widely known throughout the forums, bringing the delights of astral projection to a wider audience.

If I do succeed, I will start a "Projection Journal" and find out all the stuff you can do in the higher planes of existence.

This is the first time I've heard of OOBE'ing... so I thought I might give it a try.

I was very skeptical at first... I figured it was just a placebo effect.

I started off by using one of the relaxation settings. And it worked. Not as well as say, a drug might. But it did drop my tension levels quite a bit.

I'm now using the concentration versions... and I'm having no problem concentrating. I seem to be very focused. For me, thats odd.

Anyhow, I suggest you guys use this tech as well. Its pretty cool. Just dont turn the volume up too high... the heightened alertness settings will wake you up pretty damn fast if your volume is set high... I found out the hard way.

To johnsky, thanks for your reply. The thing about most skeptics is, they arent willing to prove themselves wrong. You are very mature for being willing to try this not for yourself, but for the aid of others who seek the truth, and for this I am thankful. One thing though, would you mind sharing what program you used to create this effect? Again, thanks a ton.

To all others, sorry I haven't been able to try this. I went to bed just after my last post, so I still have yet to give this a try. I am going to need a blank CD (which I think I have), and hopefully be able to copy the 'track' to the CD, seeing as my comp doesnt have headphone support.

On a side note, I had my first normal OOBE last night!!!

It only lasted a few seconds, but it was surreal.

I woke up at 6:26 AM, the radio was on soft and my air conditioner was on. (its pretty loud) I was extremely comfortable. It was unusual, but I was so comfy that my body was almost entirely numb.

Anyway, I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.

But then, almost instantly, the vibrations started! (Keep in mind the radio and my air conditioner were on)

The vibes started out fairly strong, and I could hear my radio and AC vibrating with them, along with me.

They got progressively stronger and I just popped out of my body.

I have no idea where I was, because there was a thick gray fog or smoke obscuring my vision, but there was a sort of light in the background. Think of it like a cloud covering the sun, you can still see the sun through the cloud, the light is just bouncing the water particles.

The thing is, this 'cloud' was everywhere, totally obscuring my vision, but slightly bright, so I had some degree of brightness. Anyway, I freaked out because of my blindness, and popped back into my body.

This whole scenario lasted about 5 seconds.

I went back to sleep another 3 hours or so and woke up to post this, and now I am off to try some of these programs. Thanks to all posters for contributing. I strongly encourage all ATSers who would like to OOBE, AP, lucid dream, focus better, develop psychic abilities, learn meditation, or just sleep better, to try some of these programs.

Keep on posting.

Hey yeah. "Deny Ignorance" Thats the prase that attracted me to this site.

I wont denounce ANYTHING until I've tried it myself. I have no quarrels with my hypothesis being proven wrong. Thats why its a hypothesis. Its meant to be disproven.

The program I used was Brain Wave Generator.

Someone mentioned that you have to pay for it... but I managed to get it for free straight from the website. I must have taken a seperate path... hunt around a bit... Im sure you'll find it.

Anywhoo. I'm still messing around with certain frequencies, and seeing what sort of emotion or mental state they induce.

I find as you get just below a certain Khz range, your mind starts to dull a bit... hence it relaxes you and puts you in a medetative state. Above that, your mind sharpens, and becomes more alert.

It seems fluctuations of these, spanning back and forth through the ranges cause other effects, like a relaxed but focused state... that one is awesome.

I think it would be even more effective, if these frequencies were played in the background of music. Say, some medetative frequencies played in behind Enya... that would trance you out almost immediately.

Or you could play an alert frequency behind some techno music... your mind would spring awake pretty fast.

It is very common for people to use technology like binaural beats to induce astral projection, once they have tried traditional means with no success. Of course, achieving an astral projection through any means is an incredible experience, which will likely give you renewed enthusiasm to continue to try to astral project naturally.

The problem however, is if a person develops dependency on technology to achieve the astral projection. If the person is unable to astral project without the technology, they will undoubtedly develop said dependency, and will be unable to astral project on their own.

At a glance this may not seem like such a bad thing, but in reality developing a dependency on technology will only hinder advancement in astral projection. This is because to have a successful, conscious, and long astral projection a certain degree of concentration needs to be developed. Modern technology such as binaural beats do not require such a high degree of concentration, allowing anyone to astral project with ease. What the beats do not do however, is allow you to mantain concentration once in the astral. They will allow you to get there, but once you have arrived you are on your own. Without having first developed concentration, the astral projection will most likely quickly turn into a dream, losing the opportunity for a long and conscious astral projection.

Therefore, if you happen to achieve an astral projection with binaural beats, I suggest you use the new found enthusiasm towards achieving a conscious astral projection in a natural way. In this manner you will not develop a dependency, and instead will use the experience in an advantageous way. Just my opinion though
.

That feeling you get in your extremities when you hit that trance state... you CAN teach yourself to induce that at any time, in a mere fraction of a second... but it is exhausting to maintain.

I learned how. I'll post about it in a new thread, in the paranormal area so you can read about it... I'll try to teach how to acheive it aswell.

Exactly which frequency are you referring to?

If I may take a guess, it would be around 7.83 Hz, which happens to be the frequency of the earths vibrations.

To AkashicWanderer: I do not plan to become dependent on binaural beats to induce astral projection, I intend to use it to get a feel for it and entrain my brain to the right frequency. Thanks for all your insight.

Johnsky: Thanks for your thread...I will include a link here. If you have AIM send me a U2U. You seem to be very wise in this area and I would love to have a more thorough discussion.

If ANYONE else has info on this subject, please, please post here. The more people who can learn how to AP, the better. Thanks for your continued support.

Well, there's also a sticked post by RiverGoddess about OOBE... you'll find it right in this board, it's one of the first 3 threads... more than 20 pages of informations and opinions about AP...

Anyway, i downloaded Hypomonk's program, i'd like to test it too, but i don't know how to put those frequencies on a CD or mp3... well, still have to read the instructions

Hypomonk, could you briefly explain us how to do it (my only problem is language barrier, and since the readme seems to me quite technical, i'd like to have a biref explanation with "normal" words
)?

AkashicWanderer has a good point when warning us not to become dependant. For me, using these frequencies, is just a little help to better understand the whole process and what mind states i have to acheive (i haven't experienced yet how it "feels" a pre-OOBE, what mind state it requires, etc, but i think that if i try it once or twice -technologically or not- then i may be able to reproduce it naturally)

Sparhawk- I just downloaded the program veespec linked to, and it gives very clear instructions to copying to a disk. All I need now is to go to the hardware store and get a few blank CDs.

Thanks, but i was referring to the other program, the open source one (reply right under veespec's one), also because veespec's program is a 30 days trial, while the other one doesn't seem to...

I've just discovered that with that program converting a sequence to WAV file is just a couple of clicks operation... forget i asked about instructions...!!

Somewhere on ATS I remember a thread a few months ago where you could get a free binaural beat program. It was supposed to make your sleep more refreshing, if I recall correctly. I never tried it because it mentioned on the website a list of medical conditions that if you had any of them, you shouldn't try it, and I have one of them.

Here we go: (love the search function!)

www.abovetopsecret.com...

It was the BWGEN site that people have already mentioned.

Go here to get it:

Dragons- Lots of products have those warnings to avoid lawsuit, but i guess being safe is being dead....Luckily for me, none of those apply to me.

I should be getting some blank CDs tonight, man I cant wait to OBE.

Wow... I've been trying to Oobe some time know and i've been pretty close but never achieve it (The first time I think I did for some seconds)... This program sounds pretty interesting and amazing to achieve trance and concetration (The most important part). Here's my question, I downloaded it, but which "cycles", should I use to Oobe? Deep Meditation? Sleep?... Or you're changing it manually?

i was just expencting to pop out in my room :\
i have made a thread about it, check it out

Well, I've been trying to have an Oobe. I asked before which "Built In" cycles should I hear to hopefully achieve it. I downloaded from the Brainwave generator website two of them, but I tried this one last night:

www.bwgen.com...

I must say I was able to obtain a trance state faster and deeper than other times (Without the Brainwaves help). My body (Arms, legs, torso, neck, mouth, nose and even the ears when I couldn't feel the earphones) went completely numb but it was a lot harder to concentrate in the the action of getting out of the body. It was a lot harder. One curious thing that I want to share (I don't know if it is a common thing) is that in the first ten minutes I couldn't stop moving my eyes. I closed them and they moved like crazy (They would calm if I open them). In the end, I heard the complete 30min cycle and didn't achieve the Oobe.

Afterwards, I couldn't achieve sleeping either. I woke up every 30 minutes and had a terrible night. I don't know if I should blame the waves, because the night before I tried to AP without them and also failed, having a bad night too, but not as bad as this one.

Is this a common thing? Any suggestion?

If I recall correctly I had a similar experience the first time I experimented with binaural beats. I had great trouble staying asleep, but I think it was because I was very excited about the level of relaxation I acheived. I also used Brain Wave generator the first time, i switched to the open source sBagen linked to above after that first time and have had fun with them ever since allthough I have not induced an OOB, I use them to relax and I embed them in my original music in the backround. I have been having a difficult time getting them to write to a WAV file to put on CD though, I have been srteaming them in real time into my sound card.

As far as mechanicle dependency goes I have read on the websites for many of these programs that yo can train yourself to induce these states without the recording after you become familar with the feeling of what your supposed to feel. Sort of like deep trance training wheels.
