Are there more earthquakes this year than last? Last year's thread only reached 48 pages, and this year is already on 45.

Is this Significant?

Another (or same?) quake in Maine: 2 Oct 2006 at 8:07 pm EST, registering 3.9 (local news says it was a 4.2):

Source:

neic.usgs.gov...

Hubby and I were sitting in the livingroom last night, watching tv and our house started shaking, pics rattling on walls. Heard a low, loud rumble like thunder during the shaking, which lasted several seconds.

Apparently, the epicenter was between Bar Harbor and Egg Rock Island. (This is what some are saying the 3rd quake we've had here in two weeks, but I didn't feel the first two.)

that one is the same, it must of been upgraded after more measurements were reviewed.

I think there was another of similar size, and a small one, to make 3.

Are small earthquakes common in Maine?

I don't usually here anything about the East.
