How are the odds in any favour for something that does not exist.

You have a better chance at saying there will be no "new world order". The bad kind that is.

all kinds are the bad kind (of nwo). seperation of powers does not exist under a unified system of cultural / political / economic homogenization that occurs under shared borders.

anyone else notice the near end of the yahoo article where the pope wished everyone a happy christmas in 33 languages? i didnt know the pope spoke THAT many languages, i thought 28 tops...

I'm starting to think that the term "New World Order" is just becoming a common catch phrase at this point, but everytime someone hears it they go into panic mode (well - if you're one of us).

Let's look at it taken in context from the two Popes already quoted.

Pope Benedict:

Pope Benedict, in his first Christmas address, on Sunday urged humanity to unite against terrorism, poverty and environmental blight and called for a "new world order" to correct economic imbalances.

Pope JPII:

Pope John Paul II rang in the New Year on Thursday with a renewed call for peace in the Middle East and Africa and the creation of a new world order based on respect for the dignity of man and equality among nations."

A New World Order, as seen by these men is not the new world order everyone is afraid of. Their visions are of respect for the dignity of man, equality amoung nations, uniting against poverty, environmental blight and correcting of econonmic imbalances.

This doesn't sound to me to be the stuff that most recognize and fear about the NWO. In fact, if it is addressing the NWO as we commonly see it, it sounds more to me like a call to awareness of what to demand from it (settle for no less?). It certainly doesn't sound anything like support of a NWO that many fear is on the horizon.

I really think some are going too far interpreting this as support of THE NWO as interpreted by many ATSers.

There isnt exactly any evidence that the NWO will be as sinister as everyone makes it out to be. Just because they have increased security doesn't make it bad. The idea about marshall law isn't even certain. If Orson Welles had written 1984 as a nice society, you'd probably all think differntly.
I don't want to sound like I'm shouting, I'm merely suggesting.

As for the Pope thing, I'm not surprised. If it is a conspiracy to make the world nice, then why not 'eh? If it is something sinister, remember he was in the Hitler Youth although "reformed"

A message to any fellow Catholics out there: don't let this hinder your faith, just because the pope says something stupid doesn't mean it's all false. I don't like the hierarchy of Catholicism but am still a Catholic. Might convert to Church of England though someday....

Wait, My translation is pretty incorrect, it's actually:

Vatis=divining

Can=Serpent

the divining serpent. Still pretty bad.

Sorry but it's still incorrect. Serpent = serpens

The Vatican is a shortened form of vaticanus and if you look up Vatican in a Latin dictionary it will be described as vaticanus mons

Vaticanus

The words vatic vates vatis all have something to do with prophecy.

then your left with suffix anus (no not that!) that means roughly 'from or of a place' an example would be Romanus (something or someone from Rome or of Rome)

mons means hill

So the full Latin name of the Vantican, vaticanus mons means "prophecy from the hill" or hill of prophecy.

Vaticanus or Vaticanum doesn't ''mean'' anything. (Mons or Collis means hill.) The Vatican is just the name of the hill. (The hill at the west side of the Tiber to be exact.)

I don't mean to belittle you but you do seem to misinterpretate Latin a lot.

This news is very diconcerting. I am a person of faith but no longer place faith into the church. The recent debacle with priest molesting children was the straw that finally broke the camel's back. One can only hope this new world order he speaks of is benign.

the Church of England? A Church started simply because a King wasn't allowed a SECOND DIVORCE? Doesn't sound like a stable religion to me. More political than anything.

Hey not to worry, Benedict is not the evil Pope. The only thing about him is that he is the LAST and one of the best as said by St. Malachy (San Malaquias). He said that the last Pope would be "The glory of the Olive" hundreds of years ago (1143). He got ir right with all the Popes. John Paul II was the "Work of the Sun" he was born on a solar eclipse, became pope on a solar eclipse and died on a solar eclipse.
About Benedict... he belongs to the order of the Olivetans so the prophecy is true.
Malachy said that AFTER Benedict... "In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills (Rome) will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End"

this is the setting stage for Benedict to be murder by a fanatical " I hate the NWO" conspirisit.

It is in the order of all things that he must full fill the Popi Prophecy. He must now proclaim the consolidation of the three major religions so that their is harmony in the world. Maybe on Easter. He will be murdered then in the following 60 days.

The position of pope will remain empty for 6 months until the "Ceremony for Peter" on the second week of January 2007.

You looking for a volunteer?

During the time of John Paul II, weren't they both trying to strengthen the ties between other religions?

I was surprised that they chose a conservative bishop after the liberal of John Paul II.

many people have responded with negative comments about the NWO. How do we know that the NWO will not be a just form of world rule? What if when it comes into order, if ever, it acheives what the pope calls for in his message..an end to poverty and terrorism?

An end to poverty and terror? I think you must mean unending poverty (for some) and never-ending terror (for all).

What we are being ushered into is the Age of Terror. No more big wars, just one big meat grinder called "terrorism" into which a few dozen bodies are tossed each week for decades onward. Simple and efficient.

You cannot have global government at all without it eventually failing with bad results for humans. If one government comes about, it'll basically be like being sealed into a room with no doors. Obviously anyone who rebels against the global authorities, musn't they automatically be a terrorist? Of course they are, and so torturing them and so forth will be a moral obligation, for the sake of the "New World".

See that's the trick: Once the phrase "New World Order" becomes a mantra on the lips of each person, then those who oppose global rule will become clearly defined as terrorists, and then the Age of terror is on its way. Ideaologies become meaningless.

The world will become divided into two groups: Those who support the NWO plan, and group #2, terrorists.

An example of this right inside America is the Watchtower Society of Brooklyn (Jehovah Witness), who use variations of this catchphrase "New World" or "New Order" a lot. In fact, their special bible translation is called the New World translation. The JW pseudo-church is socialist/communist in behavior and eagerly awaits the day when the "New Order" will come and America will be destroyed. The Watchtower is also a secret signatory to the UN charter on global religion as are all world religions. These religions will be consolidated/purged in the future, IMO.

Anyone who's read None Dare Call it Conspiracy and books by Anthony Sutton like Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler, Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution and others, will be left with little doubt that Communism, Nazism, and yes socialism, are all primarily sponsored and funded by rich Americans and Europeans who pose as free-traders.

If you wise up and drop the accidental-theory of history (the one your teachers espouse, in which history unfolds by accident), you'll see the obvious truth that people in power will plan and scheme for generations ahead so that they can remain in power. It is as if giant piles of wealth are actually the driving force behind history, and whomever holds those giant piles of wealth will automatically begin to scheme and devise ways to keep that wealth away from everyone else. Schemes and hidden plans are the nature of politics.

The key word in the phrase "New World Order" is the 'order' part. See, we can have a 'new world', no problem. Humans can do that themselves. But you see, it's the order which the elites say is lacking and it is this which they desperately want imposed. They want you to accept the yoke that's dropping onto your neck. Accept it for your own safety and well-being.

Be obedient and stop struggling!

could he have just meant a "dawning of a new day" ?

[edit on 25-12-2005 by syrinx high priest]

Did you even read that news article or what? Benedict XVI clearly said "New World Order", not "dawning of a new day", "new global order of societies" or whatever. And yes, he explained his conception of this NWO in a few sentences, and it's also right in the article:

"A united humanity will be able to confront the many troubling problems of the present time: from the menace of terrorism to the humiliating poverty in which millions of human beings live, from the proliferation of weapons to the pandemics and the environmental destruction which threatens the future of our planet," he said.

"Do not fear; put your trust in him! The life-giving power of his light is an incentive for building a new world order based on just ethical and economic relationships," he said, speaking in Italian.

He is clearly referring to the development of a global order under which the whole world is united, that is ruled by "economic and ethical relationships"... which means, from a political perspective, the rule of a worldwide legislative/economical political body that has the power to both fight terrorism on a large scale, insure the application of environmental law and provide economical infrastructures to "fight poverty" (which will eventually end up being fighting the poor themselves!). It's important to know how to read, and especially between lines, with this kind of people... I mean the global elite.

so I can paraphrase your response to my post as, "what are you, stupid ?

and by the way, you make a case for the NWO sounding pretty good...

I'm 100% sure that the pope will probably be the false prophet. Too much of a heretic and too much strange things going on in the Vatican. By the way, I bet you don't know what the word Vatican means:

Vatis= Serpent

Can=city

The serpent's city. Scary huh? Check this antichrist slideshow out:

I'm a former Catholic by the way (my Mom is Catholic and my father is a lapsed Lutheran, Jewish mother, Lutheran father). So don't accuse me of Catholic bashing or any other stupid thing like that. I'm just a truth first person, and I don't really hold to the pope since I am now of a Protestant sounding theology.

John Paul II use to call for a new world order all the time,
its nothing new. Popes do it all the time

I am sure you're right, but I'd like you to provide a quote where JP-II uses this exact phrase, New World Order.

If Ben-16 speaks multiple languages, and has been elected by his peers to this office of Pope (over many, many erudite and well-spoken competitors) and yet has no idea of the implications of this three-word phrase, New World Order, then he is either:

1: Utterly, irreparably stupid (and this is a verbal mistake) or...

2: In on it.

..Seriously, check your blind spot.

Why does the pope use the word "Order" when it has an obvious connetation implying use-of-force? Why would the Pope write a carefully worded Christmas day speech which says that Christ's light is actually incentive to work toward a New World Order?

Even setting aside the suggestion that the Iraq war is another, greater "crusade", his words become at least, irresponsible.

To use the first two words, "New World" is acceptable, but there had to be at least one semi-sensible Catholic who paused when this speech was read and said, "Maybe we shouldn't mention the NWO?" ...Are you saying that such a conversation didn't go on before the speech was given? That it was all innocent? That nobody in Vatican Central said, "Let's change this part here, eh?"

The world's religions sit on mountains of wealth while their subjects are starving/breeding without letup, and then the new Pope comes right out and asks for a New World Order on his first Christmas speech? Is it their job to do this? No, for the church has the power itself to change the world. What Ben-16 is asking for is obedience to that New World Order.

As you may recall, the term "New World Order" appears in Hitler's sequel to Mein Kampf and was also said to be the title of that unpublished book. But then, the Catholics had nothing to do with Hitler's plans for global domination, right? Surely they didn't conspire with him, did they?

As a Hitler Youth, this NWO phrase surely settled deeply inside Ben-16's head. Maybe it's just Hitler-youth flashbacks that made him utter this phrase on Christmas, eh? No big deal?
