Over a ten day period, 171 cows mysteriously died in the village of Rayan, India. Reports indicate that initially five cows began vomiting blood, and shortly thereafter, simply fainted and died. Three camels, four buffaloes, and an unidentified number of stray dogs, also appear to have been victims. Indian officials have dispatched a team of doctors to the Indian village to investigate the cause of the sudden deaths.

www.ahmedabad.com
About 171 cows died in past 10 days, for unknown medical reasons, in Rayan Talavdi village in Ajwa taluka. Cattle owners and veterinary doctors fear the deaths could have taken place due to spread of a dangerous epidemic in the village.

A large number of families, mostly shepherds, are involved in milk producing business in this village that has around 960 cows and buffaloes. "Surprisingly, a cattle has been perishing one by one in the last 10 days. On the first day about five cows died. The cows first vomited blood then fainted and died," informed Vijay Bharwad, president of Rayan Talavdi milk production committee, which supplies milk to Baroda Dairy. On Wednesday, four more cows were reported dead.

This apart, three camels and four buffaloes have also died in the village. "Since the number of death among the cattle is so huge, it is very difficult to discharge their bodies. Stray dogs have also died after eating the dead cattle. Maybe some dangerous epidemic has struck the village," informed Mr. Bharwad. The veterinary doctors from Baroda Dairy have also failed to ascertain the reason behind the deaths.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

The number of cows involved is frightening. Moreover, the fact that it also affected camels and dogs is of equal concern. While witnesses indicate the stray dogs died shortly after consuming the flesh of the carcasses, I can hardly think the same was true of the camels. I find it equally disturbing that these animals vomited blood and died so quickly!

It seems that these days we are always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I hope this remains a localized event.

Remember X-Files? Then after that remember cattle mutilations. Creepy. Aliens coming back since they left after the millenium. I hope so. It seems aliens have had a lot less activity. My theory would be unknown disease.

The steps gov will take.

1 They send two representatives to investigate if it looks bad they continue next step.

2 They send a group of UN army. (yes there is such thing)

3 Send in firing squad if they find dangerous activity

4 Biohazard dudes

5 Send in U.S amry with choppers tanks and more.

This started at one little cattle outbreak.

Could this be related to the new mutation of H5N1 virus?

If this is the next jump in the virus's evolution, we could all be in very big trouble.

My advice.. plant a vegetable garden and buy a gun.

Keep in mind that there are lots of weird diseases floating around in india, and apparently Japanese Encephalitis is having an outbreak in Uttar Pradesh.

news.webindia123.com...
The deadly brain fever toll in Eastern Uttar Pradesh mounted to 1,038 today, with two more casualties being reported during the last 24 hours.
Additional Director (Health) in Gorakhpur, C B M Tripathi told UNI here that with 14 fresh cases, the total number of registered Japanese Encephalitis (JE) patients this year, in seven districts of Gorakhpur and Basti division of East UP, increased to 4,413.

According to this article

www.telegraphindia.com...
[in Himachal Pradesh] Over half-a-dozen large water bodies in Himachal serve as the winter home of thousands of birds, belonging to some 76 species, who fly in from Europe, Siberia and China. Many of these species have already tested positive for the bird flu virus, H5N1, which infects both birds and humans

And here

timesofindia.indiatimes.com...
[in gujarat]One more lioness died reportedly of pneumonia in the west side of the Gir sanctuary on Thursday, taking the toll since August to nine. And a tiger died in the Sakkarbaug zoo in Junagadh on Friday. Forest officials who insist that it was nothing "abnormal" say this was the second lion dying of pneumonia. [...]A panel of doctors who conducted an autopsy on the lioness at Bhojli Virdi some three km from Gir, concluded that her lungs were full of fluid. Veterinary doctor PK Modi from Talala who conducted the postmortem told TOI, "The lioness has died of pneumonia which is common when there is a change of climate."

www.indiapost.com...
No need to worry about avian

NEW DELHI: Brushing aside fears of avian flu outbreak in the country, the government said a nationwide surveillance system has been put in place to keep a close eye on domestic poultry population and migratory birds to deal with any untoward situation.
"We are keeping a close watch on the situation. Extensive surveillance is on for both domestic poultry and migratory birds," Animal Husbandry Secretary P M A Hakeem said.
The surveillance, which also included laboratory tests, has shown India to be free from bird-flu, he said and added that, "There is absolutely no need for any worry on this."

Here's an odd and interesting tidbit I found on another site:

effectmeasure.blogspot.com...
This week's New England Journal of Medicine reports on two Vietnamese bird flu cases of a year ago. What was unusual was the initial presentation was not fever and respiratory symptoms but gastrointestinal (diarrhea) and coma. The deaths of the two children, a boy and a girl, were first classified as encephalitis.

h5n1 Symptoms
Avian Influenza A (H5N1) Infection in Humans New Enlgand Journal of Medicine Volume 353:1374-1385

Table 3"Presentation and Outcomes among Patients with Confirmed Avian Influenza A (H5N1)"
Shows that vomiting is relatively rare but does occur. Of course, this hardly is definitive.

Here are some links to maps of the localities:

Bodra District, where the cows are dying in the main article
Uttar Pradesh (a location within that state)
Junagadh, Gujarat, where the lions died of pneumonia.
Himachal Pradesh
Jammu and Kashmir, where one article notes large flocks of migratory fowl stop over in.
Jalandhar, Punjab, and Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh where the labs are that samples will be analyzed at.

Also notice that lots of these pages indicate the nearby airports for the locations, which will also be critical to the distribution of the disease, should it go global human-human.

Nygdan - seems to me that all these new diseases are related, primarily by the presence of infectious prions hitchhiking on the microbes, including bacteria and viruses.

Have you looked at the problem from this perspective?

There is no evidence that prions are involved in any of these. Tho I agree that prions don't get the consideration that they warrant. Certainly, when one hears about encephalitis, one starts thinking about prions, but still, you defeinitly don't need prions to cause encephalitis, or even, in the top article case, die-offs in domesticated animals.

Almost all modern diseases involve aberrant stem cells - in mammals, specifically the stem cells for connective tissue and smooth muscle. An infectious prion called "a-smooth muscle actin" (ASMA) takes over the stem cells, causing them to mutate into myofibroblasts. The myofibroblasts then replace healthy cells and takeover tissue with 2 effects: 1) Creating vacuoles or holes in infected tissue; and 2) Aggregating or building up to create protein deposits and blockages. In the lungs for example, this process causes what's described as allergic asthma - and characterizes both bird flu and hantavirus for example.

Regarding Prions...
yes, they are nasty little buggers that will probably kill off a third of humanity eventually...

but that is EVENTUALLY, due to the long time of "incubation/doubling" that needs to occur... and that fact that this all seems to have happened within hours of exposure, negates that possibility with the one exception, that maybe prion infested animals were more suseptable to other non prion illnesses...

and as it is stated before, India is ate up with diseases that like overpopulation zones. So the culprits are many... maybe even chemical.

I shall be very interested to see what this is from.

Our world reached a biological point of 'self-organizing criticality' in 1997 - and the impacts are just now becoming clear. One of them being that the incubation/doubling rate of prions has changed dramatically.

and that fact that this all seems to have happened within hours of exposure, negates that possibility with the one exception, that maybe prion infested animals were more suseptable to other non prion illnesses...

I think the relevant point is that prions hitchhike on microbes like viruses and bacteria - and thus, short circuit the historical incubation/doubling period. ...Some bacteria reproduce inside of 9 minutes.

and as it is stated before, India is ate up with diseases that like overpopulation zones. So the culprits are many... maybe even chemical.

I agree - everything is multifactorial, and we live in a complex system composed of individual complex systems that interract on infinite levels. Which is, I suspect, how the infectious prion called "a-smooth muscle actin" (ASMA) came to dominate our biological world.

Perhaps someone is testing a new nano-weapon? Could be little tiny machines that attack the stomach or something? Maye their stomachs should be checked for burns?

An interesting thing to test would be to see if the dead cows milk will pass the effects on to a creature that consumes it?

Its probably just my opinion, I am sure, but it appears that God has stopped fooling around with persecution of His saints and with open, blatant, defiant sin.

1. For example, Sumatra was a well-known focus of persecution of believers. The muslims forbade the use of a local mountain-top to Christians to all celebrate Christmas on 12/25/04. So, the Christians celebrated on the next day, 12/26/04. The Christians were up in the hills when the Tsunami hit.

2. Another hint, when you want to celebrate Voodoo and homosexuality in a city and absolutely and blatantly defy God in these issues -- do it in a city above sea level, not in New Orleans. God stores up wrath and executes on the unbelieving as part of His justice.

3. Now, we have cattle, an animal secred to most (or perhaps all Hindus) dying in India. Well, perhaps they would best be served by stopping the threat to burn Christian converts alive. My gut feel on this is: you threaten to destroy Gods own, whom He has called a Holy Nation and a Royal Priesthood, and He will destroy that which you consider sacred.
(Read Below)

I have seen evidence of my own life as well of God's judgment against those persecute His saints. You may not believe it. You may not like it. But, increasingly as we go forward from here, I wouldn't mess with them.

Dear Friend in Christ, Nov 11,2005

I am asking you today to pray for an extremely critical situation.
More than 60 new believers in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh are being threatened with death if they do not convert back to Hinduism! It is not enough that they escaped the spiritual bondage that has oppressed their people for centuries, but now radical Hindus have threatened to burn alive any Christians who do not return to their former slavery.

Here is what happened:
On November 4, a pastor was attacked and severely beaten by a group of militants who threatened his life. Now the same group says they will conduct a puja (ritual) on November 20 to forcefully convert the Christians in his church to Hinduism--and burn alive any who do not renounce their new faith.

The pastor has filed a complaint with local police, but the area is dominated by a large temple to the Hindu god Shiva. Thousands of pilgrims come to the temple, so Hinduism is important to the local economy. It is not clear if the police will take any action to protect the Christians.

What is most important now is that we pray for this situation. I urge you to pray for the protection of the men, women and children in that place who have committed their lives to Christ. Pray that God will surround them with His angels and turn back any violence. Please also pray for their attackers, that their hearts will be softened and that God will work a miracle in their lives. Imagine what a powerful force for good they could become if they surrendered their lives to the Living God instead of gods that do not hear them!

Please share this request with your church and your friends. This is a spiritual battle, and only through prayer and fasting will the enemy be defeated in this stronghold."

Please pass this on to others.

You know this no a joke, nano technology can be make into behaving any way that can be programed into.

Including behaving like viruses, interesting I wonder how advanced we really are into the nano technology.

About the cows death I agree that it seems like diseases are becoming more adaptable to the environment, and that they can attack anything, I also wonder if they are all related some what.

Could it be an experiment gone wrong in China when the first sars sprouted?

Sounds more lie a poisoning of some sort.
Since the animals run the herbivore/canivore spectrum, might it be in the water?

Sounds kind of like radiator fluid, or something, doesn't it?

Dunno, just tossing out ideas.

Katrina hit New Orleans because of gays sodomizing one another. Don't be gay or God's wrath will punish you.

Hindus have threatened to burn alive any Christians who do not return to their former slavery.

Being Hindu means that you're a slave to your religion, being Christian on the other hand does not.

Only the Christian God is alive, other Gods are dead / cannot hear prayers.

Correct as well.

Here is the difference: I, supposedly, the fundamentalist Christian, are advocating the stopping of any killing of anyone. Whereas, the fundamentalists of other (what you would call) religions same to want to
start killing.

In a way, I agree.
God has taked a lot of **** from us, but there are certain things he punishes us for. My uncle once told me (I'll research this to see if it's true, it might not be) that some team went to investigate this one rain forest. Then some unidentified virus killed/infected everyone, even the ones that were wearing protection masks (I know, doesn't make sense, but I'll research this). So the forest was put under quarentine, and the no one was aloud to enter or leave.

Well, this world is coming to an end, so you all may as well forget it. There has been quite a bit of new deadly diseases lately. (SARS, bird flu, new strain of AIDS, this one, etc.) Plus, look at all the "natural" disasters. According to some prophet dude (Nostradamus, I think) there will soon be 2 diseases worse than AIDS that shall be introduced................soon..............soon...................................................soon..................

yeah
, thats definitely what's happening here.
God's upset, so he's making cows and dogs puke to death.

And as far as katrina killing the 'evil homos', thats damned laughable. Lots of people died in Katrina, lots of very good people. If god is angry, he's not going to send some puny storm to flood a city thats already under water level, or infect some cows and dogs with a digestive disease. That sort of trivial stuff aint the action of a god, thats more in line with the actions of a puny local demon from mythology if anything. Why are you choosing to worship a little demon then eh?

I am asking you today to pray for an extremely critical situation.

This is a spam email that is circulating the net.
www.freerepublic.com...
You also didn't bother to present it as a quote or attribute it properly. Why is it that some weak faithed people need to make up lies and present themselves as being persecuted by horrible 'unbeleivers' to feel good about their own religion? Don't you have any actual faith in your religion?

Acekwak
Well, this world is coming to an end, so you all may as well forget it.

I'm really puzzled as to why people are shaking with fear over this. India is a large region with a varied tropical ecosystem and as such, there are lots of disease agents throughout it, just like many other parts of the world. A bunch of cows died from some enteric disease and a bunch of other animals practically a continent away died from a known japanese encephalitis. The world is hardly ending, this is the normal way in which the world operates.
