What pisses me off is that the governement has prevented Nicolas Sarkozy, the French interior ministry ( head of the police) to act because he wanted to take a tough stance against the rioters and that was not politically correct. This guy will probably be France's next president in 2007. He's a tough guy, he wants to improve relations with the US, he hates leftists...

I though LePen would be in the running for 2007?

Anyhow, I like Sarkozy also...he says it like it is and pulls no punches. Chiracs's government and its socialist policies have failed France....I look forward to the day the French boot them out on their butts.

Maximu§

Le Pen will be running for 2007 indeed but Le Pen represents the far right. Sarkozy is at the right of Chirac and the left of Le Pen. You're right when you say that Chirac claims to belong to the "right" but he's more of a socialist regarding to the measures he takes

My bad, i didn't want to be mean, i'm sorry. It's just that the American coverage of what's happening in France is not accurate and is aimed at dramatizing the situation, it's kind of a revenge after the foreign critics on how the US handled Katrina hurricane 's aftermath. At that time it was France which was saying nonsenses.

I think the point of " Use of Deadly Force" has reached.

I agree that everyone has the right to reivindicate their rights BUT respecting the law.
As soon as these vandals started putting other ppl's life in danger they deserve to be treated as criminals.

Got to love America.

I think this is the beginning of the end for most of Europe. According to many prophecies (
) this will spread to Italy, the pope is said to be dead (not really) and is taken to Canada.
From there on its downhill.

I might have to clarify my last post... I wasn't meaning to say that it was only Muslims rioting. I was using that as an example is all.

According to Wikipedia the riots are predominantly Muslim and North African....

Thanks for that link.
I wasn't aware it had also spread to Spain and Portugal.

Portugal

On 9 November, two acts of car torching were reported in Lisbon, possibly inspired by the French riots.

[---]

Spain

On 6 November, twenty trash cans and six cars were burned in the city of Seville. [76] On 7 November, nineteen trash cans, five cars and a motorbike were torched in the same city. Firefighters attempting to extinguish the fire were injured by stones thrown by attackers. The subdelegate of the Spanish government in Seville considered it to be an isolated case. [77] [78] On 8 November, another car and fourteen trash cans were burned in many districts of Seville. [79] [80] The city council has imposed an information blackout over local police and firefighters, so they can't report new incidents to the press. It appears that these acts of vandalism are coordinated, because many fires start at the same time in different places of Seville. Also, four cars were torched in the city of Hospitalet de Llobregat. [81] On Thursday, 10 November, a unknown number of cars have been burned in Seville. [82].

Why are most news sites not reporting on this?
I've been following this story but I hadn't heard of unrest in Spain and Portugal until today.

That's why we're here...
GO ATS!!!

I think for the most part the news would have to come from inside the country itself, so if the leader thinks it's only an isolated incident and there's not much if any proof against him then the news will treat it as such. 5th page, 2nd paragraph, Honorable mention...

I heard it also spread to Germany and Northern Italy. So what, is this the new Arabic Invasion? Is Europe going to fall and become the new Middle East?

Eventually, if the trends in immigration and birth rates continue, the muslims will be the majority in many areas of Europe.

I posted this map in another thread but I'll put a link here to:

Don't the Muslims extremists hate and bomb places where there is a Western influence and tourism? example Egypt recently and many other places.
It seems there is a lack of double standards somewhere. Do they not complain about the dressware in schools and yet everybody from every religion is affected not only Muslims. Do Christians and other religions get tollerated in their countries? Why do western woman reporters have to cover up when they are over there sounds like double standards are missing and the Western governments are blamming them selves and not addressing where the problem stems from.
Why behave like this at all?

A documentary I recently watched had a muslim extremist on who was saying that muslims need to get westerners out of Arab lands.

He said this while he himself was living in Britain.
Pure hypocrisy.

If half of Europe dies of Birdflu we will be looted and we can forget our orgins and efforts that our great gran parents built for use all those centuries of hard work. Sounds sensational but if something like this happens we are sitting ducks.

We are sitting ducks when they gave our Religious enemy a floodgate where even Europe wants to ban Jesus and everything he had to say, just for an invastion where a race of people hate our great freedoms. The Christian religious heritage made Europe what it is a built a standard for democracy. Instead its turning into a new world order the new Babylon of confustion. If it was not for the crusades we would Eurabia.

Exactly, you can't call for westerners out of Arab lands unless you also call for Arabs out of Western lands. How many people do you think will go for that?

Can't we all just get along?

We would all like to get a long but someone decided that Christianity and Jews were all wrong and all unbelivers are caffers or second rate to their religious beliefs where Christians had a liberal view of the world free to believe free to leave if you want and taught to love one another and that God loves all. But instead the rules were changed to suite a race of a foregotten people or dispersed ancient pagan tribes. Everything was fine before hand caused problems when it became a religion and yet again its coursing problems for the same reasons. Will probably get a bashing for this...

Quick!! Put your flame suit on!!!

This could be a good argument against missionaries... from every religion. Most of the time they get a door slammed in their face and are unwanted anyway, which tends to anger a lot of people that really don't want to change their religion. Let the missionaries go to members of their own faith. Help them to bolster a faith and keep it alive. Not trying to recruit more with less faith... c'mon now.

It really boils down to "My Dad can beat up your Dad." Only change it to "My Got is better than your God."

Think about the tower of Babylon for a sec. Before it was built there was one God, then he saw it and decided to spread mankind out and make it so they had different languages. Great, now all the texts are being misread and now you have things slowly change to different religions around the globe.

And all along it just might be the same God no matter what the name... Kinda funny if you think about it...

It depends also if you get persecuted for being different, Christianity does not promote killing your enemy as a way to gain worrier like missionaries. Yes there has been a few Christain mistakes but it says spread the word to save not kill your enemy because God hates a type of people. It can be childish but it can also be serious and some just blow it up in your face rather than negotiate.

Don't forget what this post is about riots possibly in Paris.

I understand the post is about riots, but it seemed like the discussion was moving towards the really in depth part of the "why" they were rioting...

I'm going to go look for more stuff about the riots now... see if there's a map of how far it's spread...
