One thing i'd like is for actual video be released with images from video or if an image is colour/shade corrected then make it law/rule that it MUST be displayed with a note saying that it has been corrected from the orginal.
I don't see why they can't show the 5 second clips that these stills are from to help with body language and style? Releasing such limited shots with a lack of video makes you wonder how much help they actually want from the public??

The camera is apparently 'Camera 14' from the top left of the image. This means there must be at least another 13 cameras in the station, if not more. How come they only got picked up by one camera in the whole station?

When the 7/7 bombings happened there was a lot of talk about 'identical' backpacks. . . . . . I assumed that this 'fact' could be seen on the video, but if it turns out that this is the only image publicly available then the identical backpack talk is just unsubstantiated media hype because you can't deduce it from the image, that's for sure.

the line on the right of the picture that you have outlined ,I think is simply a bus timetable fixed to the bus stop at the side of the road

They do line up, messing around with filters in PSP without even knowing what your doing doesn't prove anything.
At the end of the day, I can understand why they might want to superimpose people into the photo, but why the hell would they touch the railings anyway? What exactly would be achieved?
Any form of compressed image is not suitable for such close scrutiny, it's just not designed for it.
You'll find these tiny 'flaws' a dime a dozen in JPGs, GIFs, etc as they are all compressed.
