More info:
Janssen said the prosecution was centering its case around e-mail and cell phone text messages written between the suspects the night Holloway disappeared. Janssen declined to offer further details about the messages, but said not having a body would make getting a murder conviction "more difficult but not impossible."

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Aruba's chief government spokesman said Friday that three young men detained in the disappearance of an Alabama teenager have not been formally charged but could be as soon as Monday.

Earlier, Aruba's attorney general, Karin Janssen, told The Associated Press that the young men had been charged with murder since their arrest three weeks ago.

"The three have been charged with the murder of Natalee Holloway from the beginning" of their arrest 10 days after the young woman went missing May 30, she said in a recorded interview. "At the time, we didn't want to upset the family talking about murder while they searched."
Janssen said authorities also withheld information about the charges in order not to compromise their investigation. Authorities have said they have no physical evidence suggesting Holloway is dead.

Looks like Aruban pride is getting in the way of this case. For some reason, Aruba feels that because the world is questioning the handling of this case, the world thinks Aruba is a "banana republic"

Arubans are actualy PROTESTING Natelie's mother!

apnews.myway.com...

"ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) - A latent but growing resentment here became evident for the first time when more than 200 people, some wrapped in Aruban flags, said they were incensed by statements made by the mother of a missing American teen.

Those assembled outside the colonial courthouse in this Caribbean capital Tuesday night said they fear their tiny island nation is falsely being portrayed as not doing enough to find Natalee Holloway, the Alabama girl who vanished May 30 on a graduation trip with her high school class...."

I think the Aruban people need to understand that it isn’t THEM as a people that are being questioned, buts it is official handling of this case. The keystone cops seem to be more thorough...

The world is not questioning the handling of this case, the press is... There are other things in the news that There is something really strange going on in this case and there are different things that don't match. And furthermore the behaviour of Natalee's mom and the rest of the family here on Aruba leaves much to be desired. Drinking and laughing like crazy at the restaurant at the light house (12 wine bottles for like 7 people), very often gambling in the casino, walking into an elementary school without permission and asking every child she saw there if they knew who Natalee is, something which had nothing to do with the childrens education there and served them no purpose.

She's demanding that the Arubian government donate to the family $200000 because now she's saying that that's the amount debts their family has amassed in the last five weeks. Although they've gotten EVERYTHING (hotel, transportation, food and drinks) free of charge..

We've had thousands of people, including emergency and rescue groups, and the Dutch marines search for her everywhere on the island. We've allowed Texas equusearch professionals to enter Aruba and even donated them $20000 for their search. Their stay and everything else is also free. We actually have f-16's which I've seen yesterday flying around with expensive equipment scanning around the island and the sea (although I don't know how that will help).

That and the father refusing to answer questions from the investigators last weekend.

Jesus give me a break!!!!

Personally I like the touch the Dutch Air Force gave to the whole investigation by sending two of it's F-16s equipped with lasers to do fly-overs in order to search for her body. Seems a bit over the top and looks more like damage control to me.

Note to Dutch military: How 'bout lending a couple of your interrogation experts to Aruban law enforcement. Five minutes with them and Joran van der Bundy will be singing like a canary.

Peace

It's obvious that you don't know the Arubian police and their interrogation techniques... Dr Love.. So why do you talk about something you know nothing about?

And why isn't Natalee on the fbi missing person's website???

What do you know about it?????? Just because you live there doesn't mean anything. The reporting there is probably ten-times more biased than it is here. It's obvious they're trying to create resentment amongst the Arubian people in order to force the mother and all the other Americans that have gotten involved out of Arubian business and affairs. I mean citizens are wrapping themselves in the Arubian flag for cryin' out loud!!! It's a criminal investigation not a revolution.

Reporting is biased anywhere. But IMO the American media has by far been the most biased one in this matter. The local press here has been supporting the family all the time, untill recently when they start to turn against us. After everything our government did for them.

It's obvious they're trying to create resentment amongst the Arubian people in order to force the mother and all the other Americans that have gotten involved out of Arubian business and affairs.

Nope... It's because of the the behaviour of that family, and of the press that is causing the resentment. The press for example, is camping in front of the houses of the v/d Sloots and the Kalpoes's mother. They have to stay inside and close all windows, because if they open them they see strange faces and camera's peering in. That's one of the things we're getting sick of here.

I mean citizens are wrapping themselves in the Arubian flag for cryin' out loud!!! It's a criminal investigation not a revolution.

There are crazy patriotic people in every country.

Did anyone watch that news report that new DNA was found in the Natalee case? It ran Sunday night briefly. It never ran again.

The Aruban autorities need to let the FBI help more with this case. Obviously, the more help and expertise they get, the higher the probability that clues to this mystery will be discovered.

There is no doubt in my mind that Joran Van der Sloot will keep silent. The question is: When will the nightmare end for the Holloway-Twitty family?

Well since that stuff in london, the news seems to have forgotten all about her. I betcha Gretta VanSustren is mad cuz she doesnt get the cozy Arubian spot anymore. I love our media.

Btw... You guys won't get no updates from me on the case anymore, because I'm vacationing in Germany right now.

And btw... Joran would've cried by now. He's in prison, and it's not a nice prison from what I've heard.

TheBandit795: How's Germany? To the rest of you: Does anyone know what has been ruled concerning P. Van der Sloot visiting his son? What evidence has kept him in jail for another 90 days?

Come on now Bandit, you're bigger than that.

This has nothing to do with your fine country. There are experts in your country that come from the U.S. and there are experts in the US that come from your fine country. It's not an insult at all, it's just that experts are needed and not all of them come from Aruba.

I dig Aruba

Monday, an appeals court judge in Aruba is expected to rule on two motions -- one from Van der Sloot to disallow use of his DNA samples and a second to prevent local law enforcement from sharing evidence with the FBI.

Disallow use of DNA samples: Sounds like they mean disallow testing of DNA. I don't think that will happen. DNA will rule out the innocent as well as possibly identify the gulity. Van der Sloot would not avoid that opportunity unless he is afraid of being exposed of a crime or being set up. More likely the former in my humble opinion.

Also, what harm would it do to share the evidence with the FBI? That seems harmless for the FBI to know, unless there is a cover up going on.

Do we actually know why the motion is being submitted?

Could the DNA be contaminated? Is that why?

There's more relating to the DNA issue here

But alas, I can't find a definitive reason.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh man do I have an itchy trigger finger. But I'll wait until just a little more info is made public. This thing still reeks of corruption and cover-up. I bet the FBI has been allowed to do their work behind the scenes and out of the spotlight in order to allow the local authorities to save a little face, that's just my opinion and not fact.
