Never having had electroshock, I can't compare the two. I imagine elctroshock is much more invasive and traumaitc, especially sincy the subject is already restrained, yes?

But the taser does leave marks. They are called signatures. From where the probes are in the skin, you have those holes, plus a slightly red area from the current sometimes occurs. I even had a small blister once at a contact point, but I believe that was because of some conductivity through some other metal nearby.

I sympathize with you for your experience, but the two do not really compare. I'd much rather be hit with a taser again than go through electro shock.

The morons that generally get tased are drunk, or tough guys, dopers, or criminals intending to harm police to get away with a crime. How can you justify your comment with that news story? Even the reporters claim that they don't know about everything leading up to the incident.

Interestingly divisive arguments. With the exception of Oh yeah, who obviously has a vast amount of anger over his/her treatment...

Cops have a dirty job. They're not there to be your friend. They protect and defend, as much as they possibly can. I live in a rural area that is suddenly beginning to expand and come to life. People moving here in large droves, because they like the country life, are trying so hard to make it into the city, complete with the crimes that go with large amounts of citydwellers. And, our little town is covered by one cop with one cop car. The closest back up is the next town up the road, about 6 miles.

I don't feel like the tazer is such a bad option, given the alternatives. Two taps to the chest and one to the head. Given my druthers, if I was in a situation where I was being a bad guy, I think I'd rather be tazed than simply killed outright.

However, there are very few viable options, lest we take cops off the streets, or so severely limit their ability to respond that they might as well be off the streets... Then we place the burden of defense back on the civilians. In a rural area, in the USA, that is usually what happens anyway. Relying on the police being there in time to prevent a crime is usually a fools hallucination.

That's bull#, if she had been doing her job correctly she wouldn't have over done it, she could have used mace also, I've heard of several people dying because of tasers. It's just pathetic, they should be outlawed. She wasn't defending herself if she used it to the point that she killed a man. She was abusing power (as usual). And the simple fact that if anyone else had done it, the consequences would have been more than just (administrative leave). The police force makes me sick.

Like I said before, I can't imagine what you went through, and it sounds horrible and traumatic. But I promise you that the physical effects of the Taser are nothing like what you describe. I'm not sure what instances on tv you are referring to. There are some videos out there where the Taser gets re-applied, but thats because the person keeps resisting.

As for Iraq, I don't know what you are talking about. Do you have any links?

on a side note, most taser victims die like an hour later (good for statistics, in case of despearation, fabricate a drug abuse story), microwaves cause blindness, cancer and many other ailments they shouldn't cause, since mainstream science simply denies anything non-thermal, which has been disproven by a lethal accident involving blood transfusions.

wake up and smell the tear gas, vicitms often end up dead and therefore can't defend themselves, while the perpetrators have all the time and support they need to get away with pretty much anything, and they know it.
