Sex Offender Epidemic

When the supposed preacher's of the lord's word (catholic priests) are sexually abusing children, one shouldn't be so surprised that there are many more people out there doing it. Personally, I find this phenomenon outrageous, and if ever the capital punishment should be imposed on anyone, this is a good reason. For anyone that has children, just the thought of the emotional, psychological and physical trauma that they must have gone through is truely sickening.

Because the news people can't make you watch their programs and commercials by telling you about terror alerts. We're immune. But they can shock you into watching to uncover sex offenders!

I totally agree. Child molesters have always been around in great numbers, they're just a lot more visible because of the media.

I've heard the one-in-four statistic, too.

Statistics only come from reporting, so we don’t have accurate, objective numbers. But based on the reports we have, it’s believed that 1 in 3 girls is sexually abused, and a general consensus of 1 in 5 to 1 in 7 boys is sexually abused.

I am also a survivor. (I don't use the word 'victim' anymore) so I've had opportunity to really be involved in seeing how widespread it actually is.

An interesting sidenote:Many of these creeps are protected here in the US by the Catholic church. By religion, of all things! Something is totally twisted about that!
