We don't worship anything in Freemasonry. The Great Architect of the Universe is a symbol used by Masons during our meetings so that men of all Faiths may pray together as Brothers. It is a representation of God, it is not a deity.

"Great Architect of the Universe, in thy name we have assembled"... The symbol is a substitution per se.

"All mighty Father, blabla bla."

In the Lords name , bla bla

In the name of Allah the Great, bla bla bla

Because Masonry unites men of all faith in harmony, we choose to use a symbol for deity, instead of a specific deity.
