Amethyst and marg6043, I agree with you both completely.
I'm certain that the conveniences we have today were not put in place to make us dependent, but I think most people who have access to many of these
conveniences have become, for the most part, dependent on the system. This is now being taken advantage of by people of power and influence.
Dependent may be too strong a word, but I love to go to the store and buy stereos and tvs and cds. I need to have access to almond kisses.
I talk about it and worry about it, but it seems that I along with many others have become too content to get off our lazy butt's and do anything
about it. I'm not so sure anymore that there is anything we can do about it, but you never know. If people who are concerned continue to discuss
it, maybe a way can be found.
