Russia urges US to avoid space arms race (NATO running Amok)

Actually, if there is any country other than the US that could put armed platforms in orbit, it would be Russia. They have a long history of combat spacecraft projects including Polyus and IS-A. The Russian space program is still doing quite well, don't forget the US still relies on Russian rockets to keep the ISS manned and supplied. With the EU's recent decision to participate in the Kliper project, Russia is arguably still slightly ahead of the US in space, at least in practical terms. The US may have a bigger budget, but we don't seem to be using it very effectively.

Of course if Russia did "use force" and shot down a US weapon orbiting the earth, the report would be that Russia destroyed an orbiting US baby milk production satellite! Give it up. They are probably allready there anyway, and there is nothing Russia can do to stop it.

I don't think you get it. In real life, you don't just click a mouse to invade a nation. Moving an army requires a LOT of work.

The US - with the best logistical system the world has ever known - took MONTHS to buildup 200,000 troops in GWI. That was with the best logistical resources in the world, and several nations not only letting our troops gather there, but nations that actually already had US bases in them.

Russia and China together do not have CLOSE to the logistical system that the US military enjoys. On top of that, how in the world are they going to start moving an army across the Pacific ocean without us knowing? Don't you think the US, with hundreds of spy sats and unkown thousands of secret agents might know that all these troops were headed towards us? Don't you think the US would know if Russian and Chinese armys were building up in Canada or Mexico?

The US wrote the book on logistics. Another factor is that of 300 million Americans about 100 million are rural, hunters, and armed to the teeth. The inner cities and their gangs would be enough to turn around an invasion, but the rest of the rural states would chew up any invasion into chaos, unless the invasion involved general extermination of the popluation, but then it would have gone nuclear long before that point so this is not a productive line of thought. Checkmate, on both sides, as usual with nuclear warfare. Also ignores any US Navy to stop/slow down/attrit an invasion, which it would in totality. Just one carrier battle group on each coast could do that.

The most commonly cited number I have seen of privately owned fire arms in the US is somewhere north of 200,000,000.

Put it this way - the household I grew up in had over 15. I am in my mid 20's, and I own 6 currently myself. About half of my male friends around my age own at least 1 fire arm. And I grew up in a north-eastern suberb, where liberals are in control.

don't be too arrogant, look at many of the nations that got arrogant, Germany in WWII+WWI, or Napoleon, i wouldn't say the USSR though, it didn't get arrogant, it starved it economy, and gorbachev made the mistake of going into political changes before letting the market get used to the new political systems, if gorbachev made the right choices, cooperation between russia and the USA would have led to many new and better things and a mcuh safer and much more peacefull world. even now that could happen, but the arroggant american populace is so dumb as not to look at the outcome of such cooperation. you see president bush I negotiated with the russians and made deals that said that the US and russia would cooperate, and that nobody lost, it was negotiations that agreed that the cold war was benefiting no one! but as soon as Clinton came by he slammed the deal in the wall and started dissing russia, and saying that USA won and the Russians lost, which didn't happen AT ALL!

First off, no China, Russia, the EU, and Japan, would not combine forces to weaponize space if the US did. That is ludicrous.

The whole world will not combine forces to attack America. Again crazy and dumb. The UK joining with Russia, Japan joining with China, and Israel joining with terrorist states. That would be a site to see.

I agree with everything you said up to the bolded part.

Russia doesn't have 100 times more resources than the US. The US actually has a lot of resources (including oil), yet does not tap into barely at all. Why, I have no idea. Some say because of environmentalists. But I just don't know.

Second, just because the US has such a huge debt, does not mean we are POOR. I mean, if you went by that, we would be the poorest nation on earth, hehe. If our economy crashed the world's would be soon to follow.

Third, no Russia does not have "WAYYYYYY" more friends around than the US. They have China as a "friend". Well for now...And they have a few others. The US has more friends and is still more politically influential than Russia is. Just because citizens don't like what the US is doing, does not mean the US has no friends.

Well We got the Chinees we got the arabs and the South americans...If you count the ammount of people well we got waay more then US.
