dg, I know that who am I to say, but you seem to be one of the most understanding, articulate....and opinionated people here. It seems to me that you would be the counselor rather than the counselee(sp?)

Thank you for your concern. Yes, in a lot of ways, I am better. Except for the fact that starting this thread, while at the time it was emotionally necessary for me, it certainly was not one of my proudest moments!

As a matter of fact, I couldn't believe that it had resurfaced recently. However, because it was so old, I couldn't help but read through it again, and it was comforting to realize that I was right about ATS being a great community. Diverse, but supportive. I wish that I could find a community even close to this in the physical world. But......it would be unlikely.

Oh, and some of you thought that I was afraid of the POTUS. I may have given off some feeling of that, although I didn't mean to. It was more a feeling of.....let's say - a movement. A movement into the past, before my time. Anyway, personally, as for the President himself, I more than anything find him to be amusing. I watch his speaches mainly for entertainment, and to see how well or not he handles himself.

So often, I hear of him being a "puppet". I assume that that reference is to a virtual puppet. But his speach last Sunday, (I missed the one on Friday) the way his arms and hands were moving to the words he was reading - was it just me? Or did it appear that there were literal strings attached to him, causing those unnatural movements?

Whatever it was, it caused his approval ratings to go up quite a bit......

why is bush doing this anyway. What is the ultimate goal. I cant see how this would accomplish anything for him or the united states in general. Is someone else really in controll???

Great questions. Wish they could be so easily answered. The whole thing seems to be somewhat of a sick and warped "dog & pony show". But usually, the ultimate goal is money. And the War Profiteers such as Cheney (Haliurton with it's no-bid contract) would just as soon keep this country at war forever, I would assume.

Because as long as the US keeps destroying Iraq, the more work there is for Halliburton to do - like an ongoing job. I don't know how it exactly works, but somehow, I'm sure that all the money that's being spent on the war, is somehow being funneled right back into the pockets of Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush - if only for being the one out front, supposedly making the decision to stay at war. Something like that. Very sick IMO!

that said, When do you think the powder keg will blow and all hell will break loose.
Theres no way this can go on forever.
hopefully when bush leaves the white house that will be the end of this crap
Also I hope that the damage done to this country isn't permanant/fatal although I think that is a lost cause.

and anything you guys can find on the American Legal system. If studying doesn't help us. Pray, meditation, or listening to a song like Destiny's Child "Survivor" or Backstreert Boys "All in This Together", or whatever music you prepfer to keep together, hopeful, and motoivated is AWESOME. Even if it's Metallica, ACDC, Switchfoot, or some underground music act no one has yet to hear of. Remember, your not alone.

I'd just like to add something personal here. I've suffered from dysthymia (chronic depression) for most of my life, it stopped me from ever making anything good of my life so far but i swear that when the war comes i'm going to make something of my life. I place the blame of my depression on the government and the illuminati, they've kept us all locked up in their concentration camp for too long now, we have no reason to fear them, we should stop waiting for signs and should start this revolution right now before it's too late.

You can't fight a phantom enemy. All we can do is prevent the clearly traitorous a**holes from accomplishing their sick agendas. When the UN or EU is called to America after civil war ensues when a draft is instated after an inside job I'll obviously know who to fight, until then it's just making Congress's life miserable, and fighting that fascist sob George Bush.

The best you can do is to try and do, what've tried to on the BSB boards,as soon as any bill enters the house, tell everyone on ATS and on another fourm you may fregent that isn't associted with ATS, and post it with information on people's rights. If the bill reaches the Senate, then everyone should at least have one post on one fourm, and with educational materials on it.

But weither or not we do this is irrelevent, if we don't keep are eye on them and inform the world, that ALL THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, could easily be under control of the UN or some other powerful institution that doesn't have the right to govern. Much like how the IMF has MAJOR power over African and Asian countries.

CyberKat...sounds as if you had a "Gut check". Going with your gut instinct is almost always the right choice and your fears are well founded. Since Regan left us, the U.S. has not felt the same to me, and now with Bush and his attitude of being untuchable and impervious to further scrunity, bothers me also. There must be a connection because I ruminated about the new " I.D.'s" myself.
You folks here should know from my postings, I tend to be rather blunt and to the point most of the time.
When Bush looks in the mirror every morning I wonder if he see's himself as a "Thug" one of the terms he refers to a lot, or if he wonders if there are enoungh towels in his bathroom to wash off our servicemen's blood and the ladies too.
IMO, he sold us a fake bill of goods when he took us over to the sandpit. I think his dad tried to do the right thing, but he should have went on to Bagdad like Swartzcofe realised they needed to do but had his hands tied.

Remember the time just after being elected for his first term, Cheney and all of his advisors in the secret meetings? And their stance when requested info. from these meetings were being subject to some serious scrunity..and everyone was denied? I think they claimed Exe. Privledge or some B/S like that? Hell, it was nothing but a way to make Halliburton and it's elves a bunch of money.
How about all of those no-bid post Katrina govt. contracts made to known collaborators and majorknown players/criminals of and in the Rep. party?
The whole damn lot of them, (Rice, Powell especially because they had to play the game and were smart enoungh to know better than to refuse an order from up on high and not their race) and the rest of his usual gang of suspects, just plotted our futures for us on a very serious and personal scale for me and many.

If civil war broke out in the us then I hope that the EU would intervene at least for humanitarian perposes and better yet help the side that is rebeling against the current corrupt government. But I don't think that any1 will have the balls to start a war untill it is too late and we are completely screwed.

wheres the ATS bunker when you need one? yes command hq. multia national research laboritory institute. computer data incryption service, and systems analazye networking monitor. forex signet trading exchanger, and information technology representation. for the betterment. to secure assets all in the name of justice, and peace for the world.

Dg, I just read your post here, and ...................I think you're exactly right. I bet that this is The Final Stand. For real! I know that supposedly every generation goes through this, but I have never read any history that compares to this present. I feel it. The Stand. But it's too late now, I think for everyone, or anyone to take their stand. It was arranged that way. I think...................

Well, I'm not completely sure that dgtempe and I are on the same wavelength at all, or perhaps we are,

I say "The Stand" as a general reference to an ultimate battle of "good" and "evil". Whatever people wish to name those terms, really doesn't matter in the end. And watching everything building up, lies on top of lies -
the involvement of religion, with Bush building on the Evangical Christian aspect, and the Islamic population buildingon that, Israel being in the middle, it goes on and on.

Also, like I say I don't know if dg had this part in mind at all or not, but I also read into it (just from my own thoughts) a book by Stephen King called The Stand, where a "Super Flu" (Modern day Avian Flu?) killed 99% of the world's population, leaving only a small portion of the people left and they split in two groups, basically good and evil. It was written probably in the seventies and supposedly took place in 1985. One year after George Orwell's "1984", which is often refered to on this board.

One Descriptive Review:
Following the apocalyptic collapse of society after the world is devastated by the "super-flu", a band of gritty survivors must battle not only the aftershocks of the calamity, but must also find a way to defeat a growing evil faction which wants to take over the decimated world. It is a world of horrors and what's even worse, it just might fall under the control of a man (?) that appears to be the devil personified.

How come I'm wishing I was surprised? I got an 8 year start on this, more than any of the other girls at my old high school. But I'm just trying to keep BSB fans informed since thier the younger generation or my generation. And Heck, Nick Carter and BSB care. That should be ENOUGH , but even for BSB fans it isn't and their as annoying hopeful, optimisitic, commericalism, and religiousness all rolled into a quintant singing group. If that doesn't wake someone up, who knows what will?

so in other words the "stand" is really just whaterver event you think will happen in the near future that will change the world.

Now I'm confused. Well sort of. Do you mean ww3 is the "war on terrorism", and civil war 2 as the impending civil war in Iraq as a result? If so, I get what you're saying. But, just IMO, I think that there will be a major, I mean MAJOR calamity that will happen which will really be the start of the wars you speak of. Right now, they are just gradually building up momentum. Maybe, something more like that (IMO, Bird-Flu is just another flu threat, but that in reality, it is growing in petri dishes in government laboratories.) Probably just waiting for Bush or Cheney or someone like that to decide just when and where to release it upon the public. Bush has already proclaimed that he will use the Military to contain the avain flu if necessary. That could be the Calamity, or another hypothesis could be the 2012 theory. Shifting of the poles, or something that would cause almost every living being on earth to perish, and those that remain would be left in some dreary nightmare.

Of course, this is all just speculation.
