Mexican Professors says southwest to become a Mexican republic

I think all of you people that cant beleive this obviously live no where near the the South. The mexican population here in Texas is horrendous, whites are already the minority (actually there is no majority for now that i know of). I dont know that this will happen it probably won't but, that doesn't mean that it can't happen. I hope I am not coming off as racist though, I am not, I hate individuals not groups : ).

Hey if the states in question democratically vote to seceed from the USA and from theiir own republics... theres not much you can realyl do short of betraying Democracy (not that you havent done so before)... but hey i wouldnt really worry, this dude was probably drunk on tequila... but i doubt this will happen... but if it does it will have to be the peoples choice to if they want it... which i doubt

It's time the United States legislated an official language -- English. Furthermore, its' also time the U.S. became serious about immigration by enforcing existing laws. No more welfare, free education or medical care for illegal immigrants. The key word here is ILLEGAL. Why should the U.S. tolerate an influx of illegal immigrants when there are thousands of other people who wish to immigrate to the U.S. through legitimate channels? Talk about being unfair. Turning a blind eye on illegal Mexican immigration is an outrage for a society that claims to be based upon law! Finally, I have to add that Mexico is at fault for the problems that illegal immigration have caused the U.S. Besides encouraging illegal immigration among their people, years of corruption, nepotism, bribery and corruption within the Mexican government is the cause of the problem. The Mexican government should be more concerned with developing a fair and open government working towards raising the station of their people, while encouraging Mexicans to illegally emmigrate to the u.s. will surely raise the conditions of these people, it's simply WRONG. Wake up America

wow this topic has brought out the nuts (PEOPLE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY) I understand the whole broken border fiascos, I saw we should militarize the border and create a GOVERNMENT regulated militia if the national (which should be doing this if they weren’t busy backing up our arm forces) helping to regulate the border, I mean the minute man project has thus far proven successful, I thought it was a good idea but had serious reservations about the people such a project would attract but it's working and no cases of abuses or increase racial tensions have hit the airwaves and you know the media is waiting to bounce on them (correct me if I'm mistaken)

We can't have the chaos and anarchy that we have now but we do need the vast majority of illegals that we have here, we just have to get them documented and weed out the undesirables. And to those that are concern about the amount of hispanics in the south west you might be surprise to find a lot of actual tribal Hawaiians living in Hawaii (WOW WHAT A CONCEPT!) I mean they were there long before we took or bought the territories.

I think they should put land mines in most of the inhospitable and hard to monitor areas of the borders and have a government sanction and regulated minute man type group backing up the border patrol (highly in-ept IMO) for the areas that would be overly impractical to mine. Or at least have bombing ranges and military exercise and training areas along the border. If you really want to help out with the border also volunteer to help build a wall like they did in California heck, get the illegals to help out and help close out the border.

Could'nt agree more . There is one thing that you must realize though.....We(USA) have no intention of curbing illegal immigration. If you are from the southwest then you know the truthfulness of my statements(I was raised in Cali)

You see all those Illegals, and the jobs that they get (unless it's under the table) ARE TAXED. Yup that's right, the employer must insure that the taxes are taken out or he could get it from the IRS, and believe me they all cover their butts.

What relevance does this have? Well all those millions if not BILLIONS of tax dollars withdrawn for Social security and the like, will NEVER be seen by those illegals who had it taken out of their check. It's all one big giant Social Security scam.And when it comes down to it what it truly is, is TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!

Whilst it is true that they milk our hospitals and classrooms for all they are worth, that amount pales in comparisson to what is being deducted from their checks.

You want to stop illegal immigration? GO AFTER THE BUSINESS OWNERS(mostly white) WHO HIRE THE ILLEGALS. Believe me when they get pinched it will stop. Until then it will continue as planned.

Got it all in one, you're 100% correct about the jobs the illegals take and just why the government doesn't crack down on them. Just one thing though, if you really need to have a federal law to back up the notion that anything other than English is the official language in this country, than you might just have a spot in this crack pot's classroom down in mexico. ENGLISH is the language of this land and everything else is just there to help streamline work for communities that have large foreign speaking populations (it's not just spanish you know) the growing spanish influence in this country would be undeniable and growing especial in the next 20 or 30 years especially in the southwest but trust me nobody wants to go annexing to mexico, I mean WHY?, an Islamic Theocracy would run a better government and the illegals are the first to tell you just how screwed mexico is. and if you didn't want so many mexicans in their Former territories you should have put them in reservations like you did with the Indians when you took their land (well too late now, lol) and just hang on if you think that the political parties are catering to Hispanics now, grab a seat because hispanic influence hasn't even been fully realized let alone used and it's just going to get bigger by the birth rate of LEGAL immigrants, americans of hispanic decent and illegals if immigration laws are not fixed. but i know a way to end Illegal immigrants problems. have a Illegal immigrant walking up to US from mexico, stripe him with bombs and blow himself up. that way, bush & co. have no choice but to close downt the boder or do more about it. cause they going to be like, hey terroriest can come from mexico anytime they want. and here we are worring so much about airports lol, they can just walk up from mexico and no one can stop them lol.

Great points. Funny thing is I already speak spanglish, and can understand and read alot of spanish even though I have never taken a class a day in my life. I don't mind that. What is getting scary, is places like Mc Donalds, KFC, Wallmart, etc, who are now starting to utilize this "work force". I can't get something without cheese without saying no queso, no queso.

As for literal annexation, of course that will never happen,. I'll give you a few GREAT reasons, why they will NEVER let mexico have Kalifornia as someone else stated.

1)Hollywood generates way too much cash, billions, upon billions.
2)The porn industry out of Simi Valley grosses almost Thrice that of legitimate hollywood films.........

and last but not least....California is a agricultural state, The Marijuana grown here makes more money than ALL OF OUR CASH CROPS COMBINED.

There is way too much money here to just walk away from.

Like it or not, here in Arizona the majority are Mexicans. I dont have a problem with them i have a problem that 90 0/0 dont have a social security card. I know, i work locally and have to ask what their number is. 9 times out of ten i have to settle for their birthday instead (and thats not easy to get out of them either)

Please explain to me what legislating English as the official language will accomplish! Seriously how will that make our lives better. Lets officially make the color of the sky blue while we're at it or officially add an ammendment saying that henceforth let it be known that water is wet. It will accomplish nothing its just a kneejerk response by insecure white people who get spooked when they hear people speaking spanish. There is no immigrant crisis people heaven forbid you have to live next to someone a different color then you.

I live in Los Angeles, it is already majority hispanic.

Some areas are already more than 80% hispanic.

Many schools have no children who are not hispanic. Also, many of these kids are citizens.

Hispanics are not going to go away.

They will either:

1. Assimilate
or
2. Form a separatist state similar to Quebec

I do not think the US government will let the tax revenue from the Southwest go out of their hands, do you?

If you want solve the problem of illegal immigration pull military recuiters out of high schools and put them on the border. Make it simple for illegal immigrants they either serve in the US army or they go home.
Assuming the "aliens" come back alive from there tour of duty they have earned US citzenship .
The US government wouldnt have to worry about a shortage of ground troops and the "aliens" have a chance to prove they are loyal to the USA.

Catalina Island, off the coast of California, was even symbolicly occupied for a little while there in the 70's.

What got my thread canned, I think, was my assertion that illegal immigration and NAFTA combine to put a stranglehold of fear on illegal Mexican, US workers, and Mexican workers in Mexico alike. It keeps wages down, US workers from requesting the salaries and benefits they are entitled to for fear of losing their job to an illegal or having it sent south of the border outright, and Mexican workers stuck in the same old dead-end system that keeps them streaming north for the border. Good for fat cat corporations and the status quo, bad for the average jane and joe.

Who says the new republic would be a Mexican state? It could somehow manage to be autonomous. Maybe both the US and Mexico will eventually welcome a new entity to take their little 'failed experiment' off their hands, once the area has been wrung dry of its resources and potential.

Starting a fight with Mexico is the only way to curb this. The Mexican government is largely responsible for this as they are incouraging immigrants to take this actions by not inforcing stricter patrol on their side of the borders. They know damn well that NO ONE is illegaly crossing from US into Mexico. T"hey either need to beef up their stance or face the consequences.
