Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
DONT EVEN MAKE IT

You'd best not have any photographs in your house of any person,
of any holy places, of any earthly places, of ANYTHING. Not even a
cross hanging around your neck.

No paintings allowed either. No paintings of people, places, or things.
No fishies or cats or doggies either.

You'd best be AMISH! Otherwise you are screwed.

IF YOU HAD READ WHAT I POSTED you would see that God
Himself commanded people to do just the opposite.

Ex 25:18-20 Thou shalt make two cherubim of beaten gold, on the two
sides of the oracle. Let one cherub be on the one side, and the other
on the other. Let them cover both sides of the propitiatory, spreading
their wings, and covering the oracle, and let them look one towards the
other, their faces being turned towards the propitiatory wherewith the
ark is to be covered.

Num 21:9 The Lord said to him: Make a brazen serpent, and set it up
for a sign: whosoever being struck shall look on it, shall live. Moses
therefore made a brazen serpent, and set it up for a sign: which when
they that were bitten looked upon, they were healed.

3 Kings 6:23 - He m ade in the oracle two cherubims of olive tree, of
ten cubits in height.

3 Kings 6:28 He overlaid the cherubim with gold. And all the walls of
the temple round about he carved with divers figures and carvings: and
he made in them cherubim and palm trees, and divers representations
as it were standing out and coming forth from the wall.

3 Kings 6:33-35 He made in the entrance of the temple posts of olive
tree four square: and two doors of fir tree, one of each side; and each
door was double, and so opened with folding leaves. And he carved
Cherubim, and palm trees and carved work standing very much out:
and he overlaid all with gold plates in square by rule

To willfully go against the word of God is to reject grace

I suppose that would be YOUR interpretation of the word of God. :shk:

Here is the WORD OF GOD Jake ... best get with it and stop
going against it ... otherwise you are rejecting grace and
going to hell.

John 6:47-60

Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you: Except you
eat of the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not
have life in you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood hath
everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is
meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed: he that eateth my flesh
and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him. etc etc

Then in John 6:61-70 his followers walked away saying the teaching
was too hard. Christ did not yell and say 'hey, come back, it was
only symbolic.' He did nothing to correct what they thought he was
saying. Christ was very specific.

Best get yourself to the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox,
or the Greek Orthodox churches. They are the ones with apostolic
succession and they are the ones that have the true Eucharist.
(Some Episcopalians claim apostolic succession and the Eucharist)

Christ was clear. No symbols.

So Jake .. if you reject the Word of God you reject Grace and you
go to hell ... best get a move on to get back to the Church Christ
founded, the Catholic Church, and go to Holy Communion. Otherwise
you are rejecting the Word of God and you re rejecting Grace.
tsk tsk tsk.

So thats your argument FF? Because the bible doesnt
define that unknown oral tradition, we can let the rcc do it?
No.

That's your anti-Catholic bigotry stepping in. The 'unknown'
oral tradition is very well known. It has been known for
thousands of years. THOUSANDS. And yes, the Roman
Catholic Church has kept those holy and oral traditions alive
for those thousands of years.

Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Excellent. The Catholic church has no other 'gods' than the One
True God. It even says so in the Catechism. You'd know that if
you bothered to pick one up and read it. As you've been told to
do over and over and over ....

Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
Question: Do catholics bow in front of graven images of mary?

Answer - www.catholic.com...

I HIGHLY suggest you read the ENTIRE site that is referenced.
It will save you from nitpicking ... everything is there.

Excerpt -

Sometimes anti-Catholics cite Deuteronomy 5:9, where God said
concerning idols, "You shall not bow down to them." Since many
Catholics sometimes bow or kneel in front of statues of Jesus and the
saints, anti-Catholics confuse the legitimate veneration of a sacred
image with the sin of idolatry.

Though bowing can be used as a posture in worship, not all bowing is
worship. In Japan, people show respect by bowing in greeting (the
equivalent of the Western handshake). Similarly, a person can kneel
before a king without worshipping him as a god. In the same way, a
Catholic who may kneel in front of a statue while praying isn’t worshipping
the statue or even praying to it, any more than the Protestant who kneels
with a Bible in his hands when praying is worshipping the Bible or praying
to it.

What does God say NOT to do?

NOT to listen to those who, like yourself, who are unlearned and
who don't understand scripture.

2 Peter 3:16 - 'certain things are hard to be understood, which the
unlearned and unstable wrest (distort), as the do also the other
scriptures, to their own destruction'.

Have the humility of the Ethiopian and you may
experience some light and some relief from the bigotry bonds
that are holding you down.

Acts 8:26-40 Philip came upon the Ethiopian who was trying to
decern scripture by himself ... the Ethiopian was wise enough to
understand that he needed help from LEARNED people to understand
what he was reading. When Philip asked if he understood, the
Ethiopian said ' and how can I unless some man show me'.

Confusion sure is your thing isnt it.
It helps to hide the truth.

You will see that your out of context quotes from the bible were covered in my previous posts.

IF YOU HAD READ WHAT I POSTED,
LOL

You also try to hide a tree in the forest by saying trying to show others in the same boat as the rcc...in order to try to get me to say its ok for the rcc to make its images.

It just doesnt work like that.

God said dont make them. Dont bow down in front of them, dont pray to them.
The RCC makes images of saints, puts them on alter where people bow down, and tells their followers its ok to pray to them
