As a rather adamant older American conservative, Trump is setting my teeth on edge with outlandish talk about sucking up Greenland, Canada, Mexico and the entire "Gulf of Mexico," etc. I don't care about what supportive reasoning(?) is behind such words. The face value of them spewed out one after another even before the man takes his seat is demeaning to what America is supposed to be about in my opinion. Are such plans intended to be Wokenism in reverse, or are they only premature rants of a dictator?

They are currently North and Central America on a map. Is he just wanting to make that official?

Biden banned drilling in the Gulf of Mexico so Trump renames it the Gulf of America. Understand now?

There's a referendum coming up so independence is on the cards. When that goes into effect Chinee and Russians will be crawling all over Greenland in an attempt to gain trade deals and in the long term control. How else defend against that combined power bloc? Leave it to independent Greenland with whatever Denemark leaves them? Like a couple of fishing boats going to deter China and Russia?

The only answer long term if independence takes place is probably military intervention. The kind of intervention like you did in the Middle East or southern Africa funding through loans and or supplying military aid to stop the Russian Chinese creep is the very least that is needed. Colonialism is a constant throughout the history of man, ok it got a little unfashionable post WW2 (largely due to your and the Soviet's propaganda) yet it's coming back, it's inevitable when natural resources are needed along with barrier building to stop the encroachment of competing world powers.

I thought that was the manifesto he was elected on....Make America Great Again not Make America Bigger Again?

As I said in another thread, I suspect Trump is angling for greater US investment in Greenland and possibly leasing more land.

Canada?
Is he possible seeking closer economic union?

A word of warning, these false and manufactured Unions don't work - just look at the abomination the EU has become or what the USSR was.

Why wouldn't anyone seek preferred rates for the transfer of cargo through The Panama Canal?

One thing is certain, any military intervention in Greenland, Canada or Panama would be catastrophic for world security.

And its laughable that he's spent donkey's years harping on about the border between the US and Mexico and his intention to build a wall across it and now he says that borders are manufactured and artificial.

Like I said, Trump was elected to enact policies that are bordering on Isolationism.....all of a sudden its about expansionism?
Trump just being Trump I think.....or hope!

I can see Greenland being a necessary base if they stage a phony war with Russia like they've been wanting to for the last decade. But global warming is an idiot's fantasy and the ice will not allow shipping unless they have hydrofoil technology ready to go. Now Panama... that's another story. Along with the Suez those are vital for shipping.
