What is the Tik-Tok application or service accused of doing? Stealing Personal Information and Spying on people for China, in some way?

This has been going on for years unchecked, but it's not the reason for the sudden push to ban Tik Tok.

It's because the younger generations are sharing footage of what's actually going on in Gaza and Israel simply cannot have that.

Otherwise you wouldn't hear a peep from any politician about it.

I remember hearing shortly after the most recent election that Trump was praising the young influencers on Tik Tok and crediting their activism for his numbers within that age demographic. I can't find any record of it now, but I swear on my oath and honor I heard it over one of the household broadcasts my Father In Law listens to from time to time.

Yeah, I guess the claim that he is a businessman is a good enough, uh, excuse for how he is and what he does. Me, I"m not sure about that as a positive character at all. I mean, isn't business as it is practiced today one of the, if not, leading regions of corruption and control? Look at advertising, advertising of which without it big business would flounder. Take that to Christmas and without that reliance upon the Birth of Christ, the entire western economy would collapse. Advertising that lies though it's teeth with almost every commercial. And branding, no, BRANDING. Sell the brand and the quality no longer matters, and that in itself is the key to Trump's success in this world. He branded his name and pushed it and pushed it and not we have him as potus.

No, he failed in business and borrowed and borrowed until his ''brand'' became so big that he could win that first election. And back to commercials, hell, they don't have to tell the truth, all they have to do to entice the population is to entertain. And that is what Trump is, an entertainer.

So, no, I don'tk buy the he is a businessman after all, that is, unless one wants to recognize the deplorable state of high flying busnessmen in this culture today..

Another Perspective...

Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell Urge Supreme Court to Uphold Tik Tok Ban – President Trump Urges SCOTUS to Delay

December 28, 2024 | Sundance | 20 Comments

The central argument is this. “Whether the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (“the Act”), as applied to petitioners, violates the First Amendment.”

Congress enacted a law that effectively bans the social media app TikTok, or at the very least, forces the sale of the company to a non-foreign owned entity. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on the First Amendment aspect. Biden signed the law that requires TikTok’s China-based parent company ByteDance to divest from the app or face a ban on U.S. networks and app stores.

That certainly adds wood to the fire. I think the Hamas terrorists used Tik-Tok to show their atrocities against innocent people too.

Yes, and Gaddafi's net worth was about $70 billion, so what's your point exactly huh?

Gaddafi was ostensibly a good man, a good leader and ran a prospering country with provision for all. Demonised by the usual suspects for their own ends.

Love Trump but It's pretty weird how Trump went from "tic tok is the devil, til tok is spying on Americans" to "I love tic tok let's save tik Tok" in just a few months

Trump sees everything as bargaining chips. He wants to be able to use tic toc in negotiations with China. He didn't say it shouldn't be shut down. He said he needs to determine what happens to it when he takes office.

No Trump has said many times how he wants to SAVE Tik Toc, he has said many times it shouldn't be shut down starting with back in March 2024, keep up.

It was a campaign promise (so he could get the young ins to vote for him) that he would try to ensure it didn't get shut down.

President-elect Trump, who tried to ban the social media platform the last time he was in the White House, has repeatedly pledged during his most recent campaign to oppose a ban on the short-form video app, which could happen as soon as mid-January if the company loses a court case that’s currently underway in Washington

Candidate Donald Trump signed up for Tik-Tok in June 2024, and had 3 million "followers" within 24 hours.

www.reuters.com...

Lots of pro-Trump "young influencers" were in that massive following, no doubt.

Gaddafi wasn't a failure. He had experiences of 50 lifetimes. Right up to his ending, in that sewer.
