Especially if it comes back that an American made weapon used by Ukraine was used.

Unlikely. It was @ 600 miles away from Ukraine?

Bird + engine = shrapnel. In my opinion.

Perhaps, if it was those birds were able to penetrate the vertical stabiliser. The metal skin of the plane shows entry holes with edges bent in on one side, and a corresponding exit with the skin bent out on the other.

No sign of blood and feathers either, as another member posted. Ever hit a bird with your car at high speed? Blood and guts in every nook and cranny.

I hope it was just a bird strike and not anyone else, but if it was a missile of some sort, the jet got into trouble over Russian controlled territory, so certain conclusions will be drawn from that fact.

It wouldn't have been just one bird, but a flock and that would be easy to see the blood, guts and feathers. As far as shrapnel that could be an engine that ingested enough birds to blowout the fan or turbine that could provide the shrapnel. I wonder what altitude they were at when it happened. If at cruise or even halfway there it was the Russians.

Apparently there are photos or video of the engines. Neither show any side of explosion.

Unfortunately I have not seen that for myself, but will post if I do come across them.

The pilots that I have seen commenting on the original video says the plane was being controlled by the engines similar to the Sioux City incident (alternating thrust to the port and starboard engines for left and right, and throttle for up and down control), which indicates the engines were fine but there was no control of the vertical and horizontal stabiliser at the back of the plane.

Could be that. Hydraulics is 3000 psi and if there was a motor in the tail that blew up it could create shrapnel. Then one just needs to see if the edges are going outward or inward.

This and MH-17? If Russia gets three more passenger jet kills, it can be a passenger jet ace.

Azerbajanian pro Government news is now reporting it was a missile strike

This is astounding to me, as Azerbaijan is a de facto ally of Russia.

Oh my god and now the video has been taken down by the uploader. I should have taken a screenshot.

Are they connected to a missile /anti-aircraft gun sensor?

Maybe if the pilots on the voice recorder noticed a missile / rocket on radar? But there should be ground radar that can be released.

If it was an antiaircraft gun, what would be recorded. Other than equipment failures.

The Russian government needs to immediately open the site and wreckage to an international team.

Being ignored by those who want reasons to spend another $100 billion on weapons to fight Russia, so they can get their $$$ kickbacks.

The same media who said Joe Biden was "mentally sharp" and Kamala Harris was cruising to victory, is now citing un-named officials who won't share what they know, stating that it looks like RUSSIA shot down the passenger jet.

Source: abcnews.go.com...

Apparently ABC News didn't get the message that Americans have labeled ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC.. as internal Enemies of the USA.

Asked you a question. How do “black boxes” record a missile strike? What sensors.

The “official” story from their government has changed from a bird strike to an oxygen cylinder just exploding on its own with no cause and no explanation how flack damage resulted in the tail fin.

Has the “black boxes” and the conversation between pilots and air controllers been made public yet? Is the iron curtain back?

Added. If I was innocent of shooting down a passenger aircraft, I would want the monkey of accusation of my back as quick as possible.

Everything We Know About What Led Up To The Azerbaijan Airliner Crash

www.twz.com...

Video taken by a passenger before the crash reportedly showed “shrapnel holes in the fuselage, consistent with damage from a Russian surface-to-air missile,” according to the Twitter account of the Azeri Times news outlet. “The footage also shows a woman bleeding from her leg, wounded by shrapnel.”
