Trump wants to bully Panama into better terms?

a reply to: grey580

Trump campaigned and WON the election on looking into every trade deal the US has with every country. If Canada, Panama, China or any other country doesn't like it too bad. The American voters chose to elect a president that would make America and American interests the top priority. If you want to charecterize that as bullying then go right ahead, the MAGA movement couldn't care less about hurt feelings from other presidents, prime ministers or any other title some leader has from an inferior country both militarily and economically. They are not in the driver seat, never should have been and should never be again. Trump's has always said he wants to be fair and wants all countries to do well, even Iran but the US is driving the terms period. Like matafuchs put it, Trump is back with a better understanding of the players in Washington DC and is in a much better position to MAGA.

the US is once again going to look like the US.

That's not true. There is absolutely no way the US reverts back to any previous time period in the history of this country. Anyone who believes that is deluding themselves into a false sense of security. The world will be unrecognizable.

Why? At one time we were the lead in technology. Medicine. Education. Mortality. Morality. There is nothing to 'revert' to.

If you have not noticed US History is being re-written by the media and entertainment industry not looking at how we really progressed and actually allowing the US to grow.

We have regressed in the last 30 years and it has nothing to do with our incoming president. He just wants it to be what it should be.

We are not an experiment we are a leader. We should be feared around the globe and we are not.

We should influence EVERY market and decision there is. The world needs more Rebecca Crumplers and visonaries and not Gretas showing us the way.

FFS we do not even have leadership right now and have not for a few years.

Really?

The only way for Biden to have fixed Afghanistan was to send in more troops to die fighting the Taliban. Trump made the Doha deal to get out. Biden followed the plan. The Afghans were given the tools, training and equipment to defend their country. But when the Taliban decided to take over. The Afghan military folded like house of cards. It was their country to defend and they didn't. The US Airforce evacuated 124K people from Afghanistan in a Herculean effort to get out as many people as they could. But sure, blame Biden. Afghans don't shoulder any of the blame.

Trump is not the right man to lead the world into the era that's emerging. He's too old and doesn't have the mentality or the vision. That's why he's leaning so heavily Musk to be the master engineer. But Musk has his own agenda.

Achieving AGI with ASI close behind, humans won't be able to keep up with advancements. Humanity will have no choice but to merge with technology.

C'mon man. That is such a weak statement. The Biden team did everything wrong. This was not Trumps plan.
Here ia an eight minute read to refresh your memory.

45 days after the killing of Qasem Soleimani the Taliban made a deal with the US in February of 2020. They knew Trump was serious. They were told to cut ties to Al-Qaeda. If the original deal was kept it would have withdrawn our troops and let Afghanistan discuss the issue with the Taliban and we are not longer a part of it.

Why do we even need to be in Afghanistan in 2020. We are not the world police.

They saw weakness in Biden and took full advantage. US troops were killed and it could have been prevented. Why would anyone give the enemy more time?

There was only two options. Go back or leave.

Did you really want more troops going back in and dying? Because to stop the Taliban from taking over that's what we would have to have done.

Yeah Biden followed his own deal by screwing it up. Biden and The Generals proved they screwed it up. Maybe intentionally like many other screw-ups. THINK 🤣

You forget that ether of your two options can be done well or very badly. Leaving was good but it was done extremely badly.

You don't remove the troops before the equipment, diplomats, friendlies, families, etc.. I thought everyone knew that. Apparently everyone but the people in charge.

Maybe because the Afghan army was there to provide defense. We trained and equipped them.

but they failed.

In any case we are way off topic.
