School shootings did happen in the past but nearly at the pace it does now, my own personal wag is when they started to heavily promote "we have a pill for that" and that happened to coincide with the internet really taking off all seemed to pop up around the same time as school shooting happened with more frequency.

Throw in helicopter parenting, and participation tropheys and you have a perfect storm of snip.

then 1840s in va at a college so more of a riot then again traditional school shooting

nov 2nd 1853 in KY kid shot his teacher for spanking his brother the day before oddly the only school shooting on the list i could find where the suspects were acquitted (affluent and rich) so one of these id imagine depending on which one ya wanna go with

The problem you are having is that you're focusing to much on the gun and not enough on the person. Forget about the tool used and focus on the why the tool was used. I know you want get the guns but won't fix anything as we have told you they will find other methods to kill.

I will also wager because Trump won the election. That particular community has been fairly violent as of late, this makes three shootings by transgendered. Fits the drugs and mental issue criteria does it not? Sad to say the worse is yet to come. How many more ticking time bombs are out there? Social media has been highlighting their breakdowns since the election was called!

I Agree the Most Dangerous place in this House is the Kitchen.
Knives Cork Screws Ice Picks etc. and the Kids Know to Leave them Alone.
In the Bedroom a Pistol a Rifle and a Shotggun Kids are taught to Leave them Alone
or get a Ass Whooping if they don't
They are Older now and know how to use them target practice and also if needed for Defense
always taught them to Respect other people and Property
none of them has been a problem so far and are in their 30's
Mental Health is the Issue at Hand.
Too many Young People have been given drugs for being stupid reasons and now have Depression
which the Drugs Caused.

So true. As late as 1997, the students at my school who hunted drove to school with their rifles on the gun racks in their back window and nothing like this ever happened.

Apparently in 1764 at a school in Greencastle, PA when a group of Indians busted up in a schoolhouse and shot the teacher, Enoch Brown, and then scalped him. They then beat ten students to death with clubs and scalped them as well. There were quite a lot of incidents but it never got much attention until the left decided they wanted to use school shootings to take our guns, starting around the turn of the century right after Columbine.

I was basing my assertion on school shootings only. That addition from you makes it worse. It seems to be a growing problem that won't be discussed as it should be because it will offend those exact people. Thereby proving the point.

A gun is an inanimate object... as so it cannot be violent.

We need to focus on the people using them to kill people and call them murderers.

By their own manifestos we already know the answer.

They want the highest body count possible so they choose soft targets.

So harden the targets.

Gun violence, violent crimes with guns, it's semantics. The language around psychotic behavior doesn't change the nature of the imbalance between those who have bullets and those who don't. Normalize weapons training and arming the staff in schools. You don't have to carry but someone who is carrying should be prioritized as a potential hiring candidate.

I would also recommend concealed carry. If they don't know who is carrying but do know some are, that is a bigger deturent than open carry.

Open carry also makes them the first target.
